I can confidently say the exciter is the best part of Ozone. When I have a master that isn't working, a multiband exciter is my secret weapon to get everything into a workable state. I have at various points used the multiband exciter as: a de-esser, a sub generator, a multiband compressor, an exciter, and a stereo field control.
If you like what tape is doing in the mids but you feel it has too much highs, just drop another band up top and leave it clean. A word of warning though, I used to use the tape mode a lot until I realized that tape harmonics have a longer decay than some of the other modes, so on some of the faster material that I have to deal with (think dnb/ complex idm beats) it causes the hits to smear into each other too much. I mostly stick to the triode mode these days because it has a nice balance of enough harmonics and a nice fast (but transparent) attack/release, for lack of a better word to describe the dynamics of the harmonics it adds.
Bangon
Those glasses man, respect
Ha cheers brother!
One of the most valuable channels on RUclips when it comes to audio production. Keep it up man!
Thanks, will do!
That expander trick is insane. Great vid all up
Appreciate it!
Your short looping to focus on single elements during processing has changed my workflow. It's a much better approach than soloing sounds. Thx
It’s another or different approach :)
That pro MB kick trick with the detector in free mode👌so good man
My pleasure!
You are a treasure! Thanks a lot for your work and commitment
My pleasure!
I'm for sure pulling that transient/sustain trick out on some tracks in a mix. I've actually been looking for something that would treat just the transient or sustain.
Enjoy ;)
I always used to gravitate towards the low end focus module for doing something similar and now with the transient and sustain modes it's even more options to dig in there, the exciter method worked in a similar way but sounded different enough for me to steal that one for future masters, always good to have options so thanks for sharing that gem!
My pleasure!! Yes I like low end focus too. I just prefer the granularityof selecting reguons and sc source
fantastic video, thank you so much
Fabfilter Volcano is also great for adding more beef, i like to use that a lot!
i think i need to upgrade my ozone 10 to 11, because that transient/sustain feature is 🔥
Great tip! I should try it out!
Awesome work.
Thank you! Cheers!
Great tips thank you love this channel!!!
You are so welcome!
Just subscribed to the newsletter... how do you not have "mastering engineer" as an option in the survey haha! I chose "Other" instead
Thanks :). Best/Mathias
My pleasure!!!
Can u tell us the track which you were working on in this video?
Name of the song please! ❤ you give us incredible information about mixing and mastering but what I actually love are the tracks that you work on it 🤫
Morning maxwell going home!
@@panorama_mastering thanks bro! I have quite all of your videos in playlist, keep watching while mixing and mastering! So professional. So inspiring. Thanks
Bro I think im gonna snag a pair of those glasses. You should get an affiliate link lol
Haha no affiliate link ;) enjoy,
Success, Great vid. I like the red shade look, you see red, you’re out for blood, you using words like “the best” no mercy, eat these Tubers for breakfast!
Maybe some blue shade videos to indicate your mood, are you out for blood or is it chill today, little inside for us subscribers. Might be corny but just a thought.
Bang on no mercy !
that expansion trick also works nicely to add some life to the hi end. Wonder if the same trigger for both low and hi expansion can work together
Do you even see RX spectrogram with those lenses ? ;)
It only blocks blue light ;)
i pay for the master and don't break my head about it :p most people don't have the right room environment and tools to do it properly..
Yeap! Makes good sense
Headphones is a thing tho
🙂↔️🤟❤
There's no technique that saves this track
I thought it sounded pretty lifeless at first but by the end it fit with other tracks I’ve heard from that genre, what turned you off about it tho?
Hey Nicholas ! Cool video, I was wondering what your RX spectrogram settings were ? It looks super accurate and not too hungry over memory usage. Thanks in advance!
Emailing it out in tomorrows newsletter ;)
choon!
The Michelangelo technique is gorgeous !
Yes it is!!!
