inb4 AAA cinematic games still don't run at 60fps by default. Developers would rather have the physics on the bumblebee's fur be more realistic than the game run smooth.
I remember the Super NES promessed 3D graphics on the box when it was launched, but we had to wait several years to see few 3D graphics titles, and only because the cartridges had Super FX chips inside 😅
I blame the devs more than Sony and Microsoft. We had 4K games with the Xbox One X, which at times ran at 60fps. Now we're getting games running at 1080p-1440p to reach 60fps, that use FSR to get a 4K like image
Exactly, the design of the game is paramount. All games could run at 120fps on PS5 or Series X, if developers designed around the hardwrae and not push RT for the PC side of things. This video, is kind of a joke, yeah let's just blame the console hardware a static spec, and not the people actually developing the software on the hardware. 🤦♂
it's not the devs fault, that's what happens when you sell consoles with outdated hardware, the consoles are equivalent to an rtx 2070 super/2080 or rx 6700, and the cpu ryzen 7 4700g at best, that was high end hardware like 5 years ago, it's low end hardware by today standard, but rsony and ms can't do much with a $500 price tag, most people won't pay more than that for a console
_"it's not the devs fault, "_ Disagree considering how many broken and unoptimized games we get all the time. Now it may not be the actual people trying to program and create the games, but someone at the development house has to sign off on these poorly running titles. The console is a static spec, it is *not* a PC and was not intended to be as powerful as one. The specs we got were/are good and should be enough for games to run 60fps but we don't see that because the game design is too ambitious. We have examples of what the current hardware can do when a developer creates to the static spec, and some of those examples are quite impressive. IMO, of course.
@@vegetareyPart of the problem is the consumers themselves still thinking a starting price for a new console at a well over $600 price rage is ridiculous when in reality its far from being as ridiculous especially with the current rate of inflation and having high specs alone are really figured out as such. Thats a good choice. If you need a laptop and want to play games - gaming laptop has you covered for 4-5 years and much cheaper than having to buy a console and laptop separately
Thing is, it's always up to the developer how they use the hardware. Of course they dont care about implementing 120fps or highest resolution if they can just make their game look the best and be scattered around youtube by influencers about the "Wow this looks REAL!" effect.

Most high end PC struggle with 4k 120fps without using some sort of DLSS or FSR. If you add in ray tracing, 4k 120fps is not happening. PS5 and Xbox Series X never were able to do 4k at 60fps
I'm shocked more people aren't mad about this. If the PS5 Pro launches with a box saying that, there should legitimately be a massive boycott from consumers. They sold consumers a box of lies.
Here is my problem with RUclipsrs suddenly realizing these consoles are not as capable as we all were told. You all were hung up on the notion that these "PC's in a box" had "hidden potential" like the Silicon Graphics chipset in the N64, the Emotion Engine in the PS2 or even the mostly hated Cell processor in the PS3. Those console had custom tech in them so they were like "black boxes" to developers that would take 5 years or more to master. These new PC part bin consoles are a known quantity developers are already familiar with so what you get on day one is pretty much what you are getting for the next seven years. The phenomenon of consoles putting out better visuals and performance over the generation is a concept of the past; these new consoles are being juiced for what they are worth on damn near day one. Maybe next console generation RUclipsrs could stop giving paying customers false hope that modern consoles have not been "tapped fully" yet because yes, they have as there are no secrets to consoles anymore.
To go along with this, my pc with a 7900xt is stressed heavily when running the newest games at 4k, and can't even do 120 fps on the more demanding ones. These consoles will never come close to this for at least another generation or so, especially when using cut down dies to be able to satisfy energy consumption demands.
Agreed! I’m very much in the camp of “Rather than introduce new hardware, how about you spend that time and energy on optimizing games for current consoles”.
I’m going to say the 8K logo on the PS5 box is misleading because even if gamers are willing to assume and accept that 8K only refers to video output. The fact that this is not directly communicated to you by Sony is pretty shady on their part. Any honest company would tell you and not leave you to guess what they are talking about.
I feel this generation so far has been lackluster when it comes to actually wowing. Not saying there hasn't been great games, and bad, but these systems were a waste.
I believe it's the price that holding us back. $400 is just not enough for native 4K 60fps. I know a lot of people including me cant afford $700-$800 console, but thats the way it is. Im sorry.
Been saying since the launch of the ps4. These systems should be starting at $999.99. I find it crazy a nes basically cost the same amount as a ps5 today. That right there should tell you these systems are to cheap.
$400 is barely enough for native 1080-60fps as we have seen with alan wake 2, ue 5 games and helldivers 2, but most people won't pay more than $500 or $600 for a console PC is the only option for better native resolutions and performance
If game companies stopped making games TODAY, it wouldn’t bother me a bit - I am quite content having hundreds of great games in my library that I haven’t played yet…
I heard a point that was made on Double Barrel Gaming earlier today that suggested that the 33 Tflops might be the specs of the dev kits that work with more power. Think people think.
Previous generations over delivered. Now these consoles are under delivering. There isn't any 8k apps let alone games. Ps5 can't out 8k whatsoever. Thank you for this rich. I can't wait for the video you are working on
AMEN someone at last that agrees with me. They consoles were just for remasters and remakes. Next gen games my @ss Also 8k advertise printed at the box. Damn liars everything is blurry on 60 fps on both consoles.
The 8k was just a buzz word for casuals. If anyone with a brain would know that majority of people don't have 8k tvs due to them being so expensive and take up more power than a 4k tv plus 8k content ain't really a thing and really don't have a difference. 8k being on the box was just something to get people to buy into and brag about...that's it
Never expected 8k and thought it was just a joke. What I like about this generation is that I can at least choose the high fps mode which I care about the most. I couldn't do that with PS4 Pro, except a couple games.
only one i can think of is ori and blind forest. maybe racing games? blind forest runs on potato though so course they can get it to do 120 on series x
Mortal Kombat 1 is one of the few games to run at native 4K-60fps on both ps5 and series x, but next-gen games like alan wake 2, UE 5 titles and helldivers 2, run at low native resolutions like 720p, 900p, 1080p and target 60 fps
I mean when you think about most consoles promised a max target of something that in practice never happens. Ps3 promised full HD gaming. Almost no games reached 1080p although it was capable. We were lucky to get a game running at native 720p back then.

inb4 AAA cinematic games still don't run at 60fps by default. Developers would rather have the physics on the bumblebee's fur be more realistic than the game run smooth.
😂😂😂😂
it's not the devs fault, that's what happens when you sell consoles with outdated hardware, the consoles are equivalent to an rtx 2070 super/2080 or rx 6700, and the cpu ryzen 7 4700g at best, that was high end hardware like 5 years ago, it's low end hardware by today standard,
but rsony and ms can't do much with a $500 price tag, most people won't pay more than that for a console
_"it's not the devs fault, "_
Disagree considering how many broken and unoptimized games we get all the time.
It's like demanding that PS2 be priced at what an NES costed at in 1985!😂😂😂
No games ran at native 4K at 60fps on the Xbox One X stop the BS.
I bought a laptop to play some games on and I haven't touched my PS5 since. No joke I feel better spending my money on indie games.
Thats a good choice. If you need a laptop and want to play games - gaming laptop has you covered for 4-5 years and much cheaper than having to buy a console and laptop separately
Thing is, it's always up to the developer how they use the hardware. Of course they dont care about implementing 120fps or highest resolution if they can just make their game look the best and be scattered around youtube by influencers about the "Wow this looks REAL!" effect.
i have said it before and i will say it again a lot of people care about how a game looks so that is what they focus on. yes fps would eliminate input lag but not all games need that. also most games can do 60 fps and still look good witch is good enough.

5:50 Technically, the console is supporting 8K. The games companies could make 4K 120fps games, but they are not interested in doing it. They want to make realistic looking games and not games with 30+ fps. They are counting on TVs interpolating the image to make it look smoother.

Maybe next console generation RUclipsrs could stop giving paying customers false hope that modern consoles have not been "tapped fully" yet because yes, they have as there are no secrets to consoles anymore.
this ☝🏿
To go along with this, my pc with a 7900xt is stressed heavily when running the newest games at 4k, and can't even do 120 fps on the more demanding ones. These consoles will never come close to this for at least another generation or so, especially when using cut down dies to be able to satisfy energy consumption demands.
I understand when i got my ps5 that the 8k just was upscale to 8k.and the guy at eb games told me " yea 8k upscale"
The PS5 Pro GPU is about as fast as the RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB.
