C-3PO’s memory was wiped at the end of “Revenge of the Sith” as you mentioned but not R2-D2. It was Bail Organa who only ordered it to happen to C-3PO. Just letting you know.

There’s something about that horseback riding scene that’s already extremely ominous and awe-inspiring to me. I think Einstein said once said something to the effect of “If World War 3 is fought with nuclear weapons, then World War 4 will be fought with sticks.” I always think of that when I see stories about advanced civilizations forced to resort to primitive warfare.
R2-D2 never got his memory erased. He was unique in that sense in the Clone Wars, and it made him far more effective than any other astromech droid. That and his experience with keeping important government secrets is why Bail Organa only wiped C-3PO’s memory, which R2-D2 thought was kinda funny and C-3PO thought was terrible. Apparently, when Luke went to Dagobah to meet Yoda, R2-D2 pretended not to have any idea what was going on, perhaps to avoid suspicion as well as to give his old friend Yoda room to do whatever he wanted with Luke. I think R2-D2 may be the only living person who knows that C-3PO was built by Anakin Skywalker. Well, I don’t know if “person” is the right word; you know what I mean.

It's Anakin's voice at the start of the trailer when he says "It's an instinct." That's Force Ghost Anakin. It's Hayden's voice. It's the first thing I noticed. It's so subtle as then it cuts to Finn saying the next few lines. BTW, your family reaction was awesome.
In the Death Star wreckage that is his old throne. The big one is his new throne and it's from original drawings sketched out for Return of the Jedi and not used then.
