Obviously CPA exam has been a pain in my ass that won't bother me any longer I have gotten my license already thanks to you Mr Dylan God bless you more cuz you made it possible for me
I'm in EY India. Currently a internal auditor (financial services) consultant after 3 years of experience . I only have a bachelors of commerce degree in accounting. Even I plan on staying for 3 more years to become a manager. What kind of specialization (certificate like CIA or CPA or CISA or Acca) should I do to not get stuck in my career? I prefer working with Europeans clients compared to Americans. Indian clients are fine but depending on manager, it can get toxic. Indian CA is super hard hence I couldn't clear it. CIA is on top of my list for now. Please advise
This video was very informative. I am in the process of applying for a job in the interview after clearing the CPA exams. I am a little nervous hearing about the toxic work culture and the busy season. And also not sure if I should or could move out of India after a few years in the Big 4, curious. Your video helped answer a lot of questions I had on mind, thank you so much )
Best of luck on the CPA exams. I've since left the Big 4, but now being out of the big 4, I would say it could be toxic. The thing is, the company is huge and there are so many different cultures within the companies. It really depends on who you are working with
@@chrisouch6517 Oh, I see. I'm not a big fan of the current work culture in general! 😢 How do you blow off steam? That would be an interesting video to watch
I think many times it’s who you work with and the engagements you’re on …..my managers are toxic we work 60-80 hours year round hence why even tho I wanted to make manager my work life balance is almost negligible……I wish I could stay till manager but at this point if I last a couple months again I’d call myself lucky
Dang, sorry to hear that, because that sounds brutal. I’ve had some toxic managers and was able to get out of it. Have you tried taking the appropriate people that you would rather work somewhere else?
This is an awesome channel, I just liked and subscribed. My question: I'm on track to have my Masters Degree by 31, so would be starting Big4 at 32 as a completely new associate. Do you recommend just going into industry? Would someone in their early 30s just starting at Big4 be completely out of place? You can be brutally honest, thank you. 🙏
My dad didn’t have the grades for big 4 and went into a small regional firm. We took 4 years to get his CPA, and eventually transitioned into banking. This is just to say and agree with you that you don’t need the big4 to be successful
Hey there! So I just started Big 4. I'm at Deloitte as a Tax Consultant. Won't lie Im a bit scared cause since its my first busy season I dont think Im mentally prepared. I'm honestly trying to be there for 3-4 years while looking into the Audit side. I plan to transfer to a different city once I pass my CPA and get some some experience.
I have actually left Public Accounting... well more like laid off. That being said, I've been in industry for about half a year now. What a difference! Having a child in public accounting was be very difficult. I would find it hard to be a good and attentive parent in the long run I suppose

Thanks man, I appreciate it! Did you feel the balance between my voice and the music was okay? Was the music too loud?

this did not age well 😶
Ha it did not, but thankfully so
My grades weren’t good enough for Big Four. No worries. I have a great life as a sole practitioner.

When did you graduate and where did you go to school?
I graduated from a small College named Seton Hall back in 2020
What about you Eric?
@@chrisouch6517 I went to Boston University and graduated 2021
Nice! I visited that college back in 2016. It was a pretty cool to see the school so integrated with the city
Good perspective
Thanks!
Great video
Thank you 🙏
