This is amazing! Even though I mildly enjoyed watching 18 hours of the Beatles eating biscuits in Twickenham Film Studios, I would rather watch Mr.Eno in action! Is there any footage of any other recording sessions?
I bought his first two solo albums from the "cut-out" (discount) bins of my local record store in Connecticut, USA when I was about 16, intrigued by the covers and curious that he'd participated in Genesis' "The Lamb Lies Down" recording, as well as the fact that Phil Collins and an amazing array of guest stars played on them. They quickly became my favourite discs and I pretty much wore them out. I certainly loved his next two releases, to, but I have to admit, though, that "Discreet Music" went a bit too far for me.
That's wild because my copy of Here Come The Warm Jets is also an old cut-out din copy originally purchased by a guy who grew up in Connecticut (and no doubt purchased in that state). And he was also a massive Genesis fan. I actually got into Genesis because I learned Eno was on Lamb Lies Down On Broadway, leading me to purchase that album. So sort of the reverse, haha.
@petergillingham9445 I think Phil has difficulty seeing his fretboard while wearing the fly-eye glasses so he temporarily switched to normal eyeglasses (also, he knew you'd be eventually watching this clip and commenting about it ..). Another clue: no raised voices w/Wimbourne accents...
the era was open to anything cause most things were not done, anything then was cutting edge, also the music was only 15 years old, 1957. to 1972 music was just getting going, by 1985 many years and music had been done, now 1995-2025 music has been mostly weak and not creative like the music before 1985
Eno’s first two albums are still my favourites.
