My Family is from Randazzo, I was born in Berlin (Germany) where I still live. I really enjoyed remotely revisiting the small medieval town through your eyes and camera. Thank you! Also kudos to your son being such a good travel companion. I remember how challenging that is at that age :)
I was in Randazzo last year and I agree it was amazing. We had lunch in a tiny cafe run by a husband and wife and the food was the best we had while in Italy.

Lava rock = basalt. Actually there are a variety of lava rocks but the black is basalt.
