- Oh man, something not shmup related? This is madness yo.
So yeah, I never really played the original much, but they improved the sequel in pretty much every single way and it is really awesome.
Under normal circumstances the game isn't that hard once you know what you're doing and memorize the patterns.
Sub-weapons make some things really trivial, but I guess that's what they're there for.
Might try a challenge run of the game later.
The soundtrack is really badass by the way.
As for why I left the final cutscene in... it was really motivating! V:

This gave me a craving to play some kind of Touhou metroidvania, where you explore a 2D rendition of Gensokyo in search of the culprit behind an incident, perhaps one that involves Reimu and company losing their powers.
Did he just predict the future? (Well except it's sakuya)

I've used to enjoy watching my cousin play this absolute gem back when I was like 12 years old. Yeah, I've seen how really good she has played and accomplished like when she has defeated Alice without taking a single hit. Such good memories.

@ResurectedPlayer Nope. Not yet at least. The original got a patch later that included an extra stage, let's hope it's the same for this game.
If there was anything fun, it was going through the whole damn game on Hard mode with no subweapons.

46:00 I don't really know much about Touhou, but I thought Yuyuko was always depicted as quite a voracious eater. Yet, even she didn't seem able to handle a face-full of Flan.
I'm a little disappointed you didn't get a laugh out of Reimu. She really does have a wonderfully evil laugh.

Also, judging by the name, the boss would be obvious.
Yukari was surprisingly weaksauce for the next to last boss. That said, it was still an awesome game!
A question for everyone; if they ever do make an extra stage, who do you think would be the extra boss? They already used Ran and Yukari, so would do you think they bring in someone from one of the other games or just give you a rematch with a harder version of Yukari?
I mean, Yukari is absolutely jobbing there. Phantasm stage is where she really fights.

The running animation is wierd
It's doing exactly what Alucard does in Symphony of the Night, in that he takes a moment to get running with a forward dash animation-wise but his control isn't inhibited at all.
