- Finally boated my first kayak fish of 2020. The day didn't go exactly as planned, but fortunately the ol' ned rig (and another surprise lure) came through and made for a very productive day.
I'm the same way, I love flipping a jig so much it's become my one trick pony. I'm trying to focus on using other techniques this year and "diversifying my portfolio" lol 😂One thing I learned from Rick Clunn is to not base future success on techniques that worked in the past. Great work!👊🏼🐟
Great vid
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!
Hey bud what’s your line setup on your Ned rig? Awesome content!
10 lb braid to an 8 lb mono leader. I'll usually start with around 6 feet of leader and I'll let it get down to around 2 feet with re-tying and breaking off before I'll tie a new leader on.
Love the channel. What is your favorite Ned rig type, color and jig weight.
I almost always use 1/15oz. I feel most confident with just the regular finesse TRD in PB&J, but honestly they all work pretty darn well!

Thanks for the reply. I'm pretty new to fishing and started using the ned recently. Lots of weeds where I fish in Massachusetts so the ned always seems to get slimed up real quickly. Any tips on how to fish the ned in slime and weeds? Just bounce it on top of it possibly?
Yeah, we have a lot of weeds here too. If it's really weedy you can work it a little faster to keep it just above the weeds. The Bulletz can help too with the weeds, but slime will still get em.
