Hi Rita, I just noticed that we are neighbors. I live in Port Saint Lucie. I just found your channel. I love your channel, love all the different ways you decorate all your paper beads. I have just started making paper beads. It is so much fun creating beads out of scrap paper. Thank You for sharing your video with all of us. ❤
As I was watching your video, I had an idea that really turned out cute. I love to color in those adult coloring books. I always keep my finished pages and wasn't sure what to do with them. I went and got them and started cutting them up into random sized strips. They turned out so adorable! And for a dowel, I used a plastic coffee stirrer, and cut a slit down the side to slip my paper in. It worked so well. I'm trying not to spend any money so this was perfect!
Thank you Rita. I usually find videos and add them to my Watch Later list, where I watch them on my ROKU. Because I watch them on the TV I can't really "Like" or choose to subscribe. Well, I made it through this entire video and had to come back to my computer to make sure I let you know I truly "like" this video. I watched it with someone else in mind- a young teen who is struggling. I honestly think that a creative hobby would help this person, and I need the beads to embellish my own creations. So, hopefully I can use many of your uniquely creative tips here to help inspire the teen, and they'll soon see how something that came from them is appreciated by someone else. Again, thank you!
I will say your beads actually look as if you made them ... not like some people who show off beads that were made from someone else.(your work is so cute, thank you for sharing.💞👸 and yes in reality making these beads can be time consuming, due to the fact that your examination can go far out, just endless ." no two should ever be the same ' all master pieces! "🏆
A good idea for many to dry is to get a pool noodle and cut in half long ways. Then get tooth picks to stick into the cut noodle so you can put the beads on to dry. Either after gluing or painting. It was a cool idea from another RUclipsr. Lots of Love, Light and Laughter!
I just LOVE LOVE LOVE this video. I'm SO GLAD you are totally NATURAL and REAL, honey! You are messy, just like me. I've been an artist for...like...almost 30 years and you work JUST like me. I've always wanted to make beads just like that but I don't know why I never have. But I want to do it now and I'm glad you have a video with ALL the little steps and options that I'm interested in. I thank you VERY much for taking the time to share your time with us. I appreciate it so much, honey. I'm looking forward to playing with them myself. I love ALL things paper! I've been working with all forms of paper mache for almost 30 years. Isn't it funny that I never made paper beads! LOL But I've made EVERY form of paper something. I should make my own videos but I'm so shy because I'm a TRULY MESSY and clumsy artist!
Rita you can use eye lets cheaper than bead cores.I learned that trick from the frugal crafter I used eyelets in my clay beads you might want to go take a look if you want. I love making paper beads I just love making all kinds of beads lol. yours are so cute and thanks for the tip of using brown paper I have a ton of it.
Thank you Nancy for watching and for the info. I did hear that you could use eyelets for instead of bead cores but I found the bead cores so cheap on eBay that I had to buy some. Brown paper is so great to work with for so many things… Love & Hugs XO
Well I know it's been like 3 years since you made this tutorial but i want you to know I watched the whole video. Thank you for the awesome inspiration. I love love your beads. GOD Bless

Rita When i first started making paper beads I used magazine pages they come out really pretty. I don't know if you thought of that but you might want to give it a try.
Your beads are really pretty. I have a lot of left over wrapping paper, purchased before we started gift bags ! ha Anyway I thought I'd try them. Instead of the dowels you might try some old round curtain rods. Have a great day!
Hi Rita, I believe I have made over 3000 paper beads I luv making them, I even color and draw my own design, then I dip them a few times in polyurethane and they become hard as rock. Love your awesome videos, thank you.😊 Rosebud Selleck ☆♡☆

Thank you MKathy! I got the fine liner bottles from Amazon.com and put acrylic paints in them. The others are Liquid Pearls and they come in the little bottles with the fine liner tips. You can get them online or in amy Michaels or Hobby Lobby…. Love & Hugs XO
Hi Laura! I used Liquid Pearls and then acrylic craft paints in fine liner bottles. You can get it all online or in local craft stores if you have a Michaels or Hobby Lobby near you… Thank you so much for watching and I hope you are inspired to make a bunch… Love & Hugs… XO

hello...i enjoyed your video!!! idk if anyone else recommended this....but thought i would share..lol...you could take some wax and rub all over the dowels and it should keep them from sticking!!! Happy Crafting!!!
Mine always stuck to my skewers too & then on my husband's advice, I coated the skewers lightly with Vaseline & they never stick now. Just a tip. Thank you for the vids!
How did you scent the paper? I watched the whole thing but I missed it. Did you soak the paper or the finished bead, and did you use essential oil full strength, I heard you soaked in water....
I soaked the brown paper in water, crumbled it and then spread it out to dry. I would make the paper bead first and then drop the oils on it. I did it with some of them and they smell very nice but it doesn't last too long so you have to recent them often, and I didn't put any embossing powder or any kind of coating over them. Sorry I didn't go more into it in the video… I hope this helps… 💜
hi just color the outer side of the paper in stripes with markers when you roll up the paper you'll see the different colors just the outside of the paper just make color Stripes rainbow colors and he colors you like not the inside of a paper and just the outside just make Stripes up and down the paper
It really depends on how thick you want your bead… Sometimes I'll go 10' and then sometimes depending on the paper I will only go 6"… If the paper is really thick then I cut the strips shorter… After you do a few you will get the feel of the length you like… I hope that helps. 💜☮️
The tip of the fine liner bottle? That's the little metal tip that it comes with when you purchase the fine liners. I hope that helps… Thank you for watching… Love & Hugs XO

How did you scent the paper? I watched the whole thing but I missed it. Did you soak the paper or the finished bead, and did you use essential oil full strength, I heard you soaked in water....

hi just color the outer side of the paper in stripes with markers when you roll up the paper you'll see the different colors just the outside of the paper just make color Stripes rainbow colors and he colors you like not the inside of a paper and just the outside just make Stripes up and down the paper
I love this! I save all my Amazon packing paper. ❤❤❤❤💋😇😂
FYI: I use the plastic cocktail straws, the holes are small & they are quite rigid. AND they are CHEAP!!!
How long is the paper that you use. I know the longer the wider the bead, but just wondering how long you were using
It really depends on how thick you want your bead… Sometimes I'll go 10' and then sometimes depending on the paper I will only go 6"… If the paper is really thick then I cut the strips shorter… After you do a few you will get the feel of the length you like… I hope that helps. 💜☮️
