The big problem with this Library is they do not care what our rights are. They care about control and having their policy being on top. That’s why they do not bother to Train, educate, or chastise their employees. They don’t bother to change their policy either. I can guarantee this is how they confront every single person who ever tries to record in that Library. Most people have no clue about their rights and meekly follow this policy. I saw that when I visited friends and relatives in a more restrictive state than the one I live in. Every member of my family, and every friend I still had in the area meekly followed any and all directives of anyone in authority. The one that bothered me the most was stopping by the post office to mail a package. Someone in front of us in line asked permission from the postal clerk to take a photo of their own package. Anyhow, this library will continue to push this policy until they are held accountable in some other way . I think the trick is to change the educational curriculum for the civics class in the state of Colorado. If no one teaches civil rights, they will eventually all disappear.
@@gregkasza1925 Agree. But it would be easier if people had even a small clue to their civil rights. Last year I researched the civics curriculum in my school district. It was a disgraceful parody of what i was taught years ago.

I'm going to take a wild guess that I'm older than you, as during my life, I have Personally seen the decrease of people learning about their rights. And you may have missed that this woman had previously called police on a different person for recording in public. And this library has been visited SEVERAL times by various people in an attempt to get them to stop infringing on rights. Pro Tip from Hollywood- Do the black and white effect for past footage. Do colorized for current. That's an easy way to differentiate between the 2 separate time periods Some big shows and movies have used this technique and it's proven to work well. Think Season 6 Episode 1 of The Walking Dead. The entire episode was shot in that format and it worked great cz they kept jumping back and forth thru the time line from past to present and it made it a lot easier to follow
I watch a lot of audit videos. I often comment that a particular venue NEEDS a parade of auditors visiting them until they get it through their heads that they have NO lawful control over people exercising their rights. This is my first experience of your channel and I strongly commend your tenacity in returning there until they get the message. It would be so EASY to simply remove the filming portion of their code of conduct but ego, hubris and outright arrogance prevent them from doing so. I hope your patient, cordial vigilance and tenacity gets through their stubborn walls. P.S. I LOVED the $5.00 troll.
Sad thing is they work in a place that has book's an internet capability on the Constitution and Bill of Right's instead of stating "policy" educate themselves on the law.
In some public buildings you might as well just pitch a tent as they could be a permanent auditing home lol. The cast of characters here could be in a Television sitcom.
Maybe Beth ought not to have acted above her pay grade! She learned the hard way, that she bosses NO ONE! Hopefully for her sake, she doesn't act all uppity anymore!
Hi from the UK - another good video highlighting the idiocy of some public servants, whilst some get it others never will. I would like to see you point to their cameras and tell them that the authority that allows THEM to run cameras filming everyone is the same authority that allows you to have a camera in a public place - stay safe, you are getting there one small step at a time although it sometimes doesn't seem like it.
The ladies at the end are why more people should film in public spaces. They were polite and informative on an event that most likely isnt well publicized. Now we as viewers are aware and can participate if we so desire.
7:05 mark... Christopher pulled off the incredible, he took a public dump right on Rosalie's silly library policy, on camera, without even loosening or dropping his pants...impressive! Lol
I understand as for personal use recording in public is fine but I wonder if your videos are monetized would that make it commercial use and would that change the rules like would you need a permit etc?
Why doesn't the library formally educate their staff, current and as new ones are hired? Why doesn't the library put up signs telling patrons they may be filmed, etc.?

Of all the hundreds of auditing videos I have watched none of the auditors cause disruption (which is what you are arguing).. Usually it is the pompous employees ( and sometimes other patrons) who CHOOSE to cause problems because of their misguided understanding of the law.. N0-one is arguing that unruly behaviour would see you thrown out and or trespassed. But that is not what happens in these situations.
Further, Any( illegal )trespass given, when challenged legally, either sees the local prosecutor dismiss the charges or takes it to court where the court then dismisses the charges. I agree there are time, place and manner restrictions in some public areas ie you cannot go into a public building after hours when it is locked , but public libraries, as with all other public buildings, you cannot legally be trespassed for taking a camera in and walking around. It's not illegal, in fact it is protected activity and policies (which are not law) cannot unprotect it.
Its a simple concept and applies in 99% of instances... Can I walk into the public building and access the public lobbies/areas... if yes, then I can take a camera and record whatever I can see.... the only difference in the two situations being the camera. No-one is standing on a soapbox proclaiming the end of the world, down with the govt etc no- one is yelling or being disruptive You can NOT throw someone out simply because of a camera and you cannot (legally) trespass someone because of a camera, assuming all other, time, manner, place aspects are equal.
BTW, Did you happen to notice in the video that the library could not do anything about the cameraman??? This is at least the third time the auditor has been in Belmore Library filming and previously the police were called (who could not do anything). Library staff very unhappily were taught a lesson and didn't even ring the police this time....they know better...better than you apparently.. plus we have seen the exact same situation with many other auditors in other libraries across the USA..
You have it wrong. Don't be a govt bootlicker. Don't let the govt remove your rights by stealth ( Boiling Frog analogy)........ Use Them or Lose Them. The Auditors are doing everyone a big favour by educating and reinforcing the rights of the citizen.

To exercise our RIGHTS. As you can see there are MANY who don't know want our rights are. There is no expectation of privacy in public. He couldn't do this in a private business but he ( and the other patrons ) are in public. They need to understand that the LEO are LAW ENFORCEMENT not policy enforcement. That's why. Because literally everyone in the library and those who watch are more aware of our rights. Often the police are called ...many officers don't even know the law. So this exercise is important, even necessary. Hope that helps. 😊

@@dannibee3648 that's NOT THE POINT. OMG study the Constitution and Amendments of the United States of America concerning public places which the PUBLIC library is one of those places.
Society will always have to fight for their freedoms.

Some big shows and movies have used this technique and it's proven to work well. Think Season 6 Episode 1 of The Walking Dead. The entire episode was shot in that format and it worked great cz they kept jumping back and forth thru the time line from past to present and it made it a lot easier to follow
