@graysongman I know, right? XD Wak, you're amazing! You SHFFLed all over the place, and I can barely even do one SHFFL because I mistime the fast fall AND the L-cancel (more of the L-cancel). It took me a while to wavedash properly (even though I still screw it up sometimes). You owned everyone in those matches without even taking so much as one damage point (this doesn't surprise me, though because I've seen your skills, especially with Young Link). You rock! =D
It usually means tool-assisted speed run but it can also be tool-assisted superplay. If a time is shown or associated when you see TAS then it probably means a speed run and if there isn't a time like on this video then it probably means superplay.
For all the people who are oblivious. This is something called a TAS run. A run using tools to achieve something that you couldn't normally to due to human reflex and reaction time limitations. These runs are made with the aim of entertainment, and to show off just how far a game can be pushed to it's limits, usually it IS pushed to it's limit.
It was very well made, hope it gets approved. But I guess TASing the credits would make it even more amazing as input time does not really matter in a fighting game.
A little embellishment: TAS is short for Tool-Assist Speedrun, meaning the player is inputting commands specific frames which allows for flawless playing.
0:11 Fox VS Pichu 0:45 Fox VS Ness 2:48 Fox VS Ganondorf and Jigglypuff 3:11 Fox VS Marth and Bowser 4:30 Fox VS Roy, Dr. Mario and Link 5:00 Fox VS Young Link, Kirby and Ice Climbers
tas is supposed to stand for tool assisted superplay, speed is a common goal, hence the "s" standing for speedrun, but technically the s should stand for superplay
Hmm. Not quite. TAS are done by saving button commands on certain frames. He can step the frames forward and back at will to adjust the button commands. It is then played back at full speed by a script. So no video editing is involved at all, and the speed at which he plays is much more flexible.
3 things : - What's the re-record count on that. - Is this a PAL version ( On 3:11 , when Marth has been attacked by the Fox's shield , why is he not ejected like Falco or Fox ?). - That is awesome , subscribed. :D
Those phantom hits against DK were awesome :) Why didn't you scroll down when the points were being tallied up at the end (after the GWs) so we can see that you got VHC+NDC? Not that anyone doubts you did it, but it would have made a great screen grab.
If the human was quick enough to do such things, hypothetically yes he could. No cheats are done to achieve these runs. What was done here was frame-by-frame input, the player slows the game down and he advances the frames himself as he makes inputs by pressing the buttons. There are many other examples of this kind of run, the related videos have many other runs like this to c:
i'm a bit busy to be watching this entire video atm, so i don't know if you did this or not. did you know fox's down-throw, if used close enough to the cliff, can throw the opponent out the stage downward? what's so unique about it is the speed is incredible and i don't believe they're allowed to recover from it since i think it waits for them to hit the ground before enabling them to do so. if you were ever going for speed i think fox would be the best choice
I hate Chuck Norris or Mango jokes in connection to this. It was Wak putting a lot effort to this so please don't say it was another guy even if it is a joke :/ Great TAS btw. It's a lot of fun to watch this.
Man, if my TASes looked half as good as yours Wak, I'd be super happy. You should make more!
yours are godlike
gamerfreak5665 He's been absent from RUclips for 2 years
ik this is an old comment, but your TASes are amazing dude. love em!
@@beszt95 Thank you, I'm glad you like them! I've been taking a break recently, but I hope to make more soon!
5:21 R. I. P. Headphone users
Disappointed he didnt TAS hitting every name in the credits :(
Wak, I loved all the stuff you did back when I first started playing and seeing this just made me smile. Good to see stuff from you man!
Jesus christ those shines on the G&Ws were fucking intense.
lol the yoshi and DK one where he spam phantom hits the DK, gotta love TAS
Proud to say this man's videos taught me how to play Melee!
I keep looking for the "stale moves" after each fight.
5:24 That noise XD
The shines at the end...murdered my headphones. Good stuff.

Oh dear god, this is fucking amazing. Some of the best TASing I've seen, period.
@graysongman I know, right? XD Wak, you're amazing! You SHFFLed all over the place, and I can barely even do one SHFFL because I mistime the fast fall AND the L-cancel (more of the L-cancel). @Wakssbm I'm just kidding, this is really awesome and I found myself smiling throughout the entire video. Great work.
That stage is from the Donkey Kong video games. It's name is "Jungle Japes". But the song is "Lost Woods" from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
That poor DK. So many phantom hits.
Very nice Wak, very entertaining.
holy shit XD This has to be the best I've seen in a while.
This is awesome.
All the phantom hits at 2:02 made me laugh.
Subscribed =)
@Elie4Elite -The re-record count doesn't work on r7323 of Dolphin, therefore it's unknown
-It's NTSC version, v1,1
-Thanks!
This fox is rude.
We say that perfection doesn't exist. But just IRL, not in video games!! This video demonstrate us, ouahou amazing!!
It usually means tool-assisted speed run but it can also be tool-assisted superplay. If a time is shown or associated when you see TAS then it probably means a speed run and if there isn't a time like on this video then it probably means superplay.
Didn't know Fox could be so entertaining... Awesome job Wak

Wow, the score you got on Mr. GaW's match exceeds my whole run. Bravo :D
i loved the shield wiggle at 2:38...also lol at breaking the speakers on flatzone
Yea you should definitely do the credits =)
(I wonder if it's possible to do with Brawl's, or if the cursor doesn't move fast enough)
This was amazing entertainment, it was actually very funny at parts haha!
Stale moves is the use of a single move to the point where its power lowers, in brawl its something like 8 hits in a row with the same move
Oh my God.
You sir are a real smash brother.
I hope you took only a small slurp each time he shined! XD
It was very well made, hope it gets approved. But I guess TASing the credits would make it even more amazing as input time does not really matter in a fighting game.
that dash dancing is so good that its bad
Your creativity definitely showed in this video! Tooooo good.
I'm hella pissed though, you didn't TAS the credits lol
The most amazing thing since sliced bread!!
@Wakssbm Oh I so wanna see the credits TAS'd, I would definitely go for that
Oh geez, the sound vs the G&Ws completely explodes.
I love how the Mute City battle was done to the music.
Omfg if you did the TAS of the credits that'd be amazing.
TAS doesn't only stand for Tool-Assisted Speedrun. It also means Tool-Assisted Superplay.
A little embellishment: TAS is short for Tool-Assist Speedrun, meaning the player is inputting commands specific frames which allows for flawless playing.
I always wanted to see a TAS of shooting all the credits name. Maybe in fast mode. I dunno i think it would be interesting. Lol
That speed tho, the way he caught up to Zelda in less than a second was incredible, but wait, that ain't Sonic. lol
Wak, plz do a TAS vs Mugg where you pass around a sav file and edit it one frame at a time so it's a legit competition
0:11 Fox VS Pichu
0:45 Fox VS Ness
2:48 Fox VS Ganondorf and Jigglypuff
3:11 Fox VS Marth and Bowser
4:30 Fox VS Roy, Dr. Mario and Link
5:00 Fox VS Young Link, Kirby and Ice Climbers
tas is supposed to stand for tool assisted superplay, speed is a common goal, hence the "s" standing for speedrun, but technically the s should stand for superplay
Yes, it does. It can stand for Tool-Assisted Superplay along with Tool-Assisted Speedrun depending on the situation. This happens to be superplay.
I would love to play him, i know the frame rate and stuff is sped up right but he is still really good. would be a fun match :D
Hmm. Not quite. TAS are done by saving button commands on certain frames. He can step the frames forward and back at will to adjust the button commands. It is then played back at full speed by a script. So no video editing is involved at all, and the speed at which he plays is much more flexible.
''stale moves''
aren't in melee
otaku nub what? Of course they are.

that game&watch match is what im pretty sure dubstep is made out of
wow so much entertainment thx mah friend
@Wakssbm Oh yeah , and one more thing.
Today when I played Fox on SSBM , I did a sort of "Dash Attack Cancel". Is it a technique or a glitch ?
Wow, I didn't know you were still making stuff Wak
as soon as i saw the speed you selected messages, i prayed for the cpu's life.
@Wakssbm
You should have done a TAS shoot the credits
Those phantom hits against DK were awesome :)
Why didn't you scroll down when the points were being tallied up at the end (after the GWs) so we can see that you got VHC+NDC? Not that anyone doubts you did it, but it would have made a great screen grab.
my mind just melted.
TAS = tool-assisted speedrun. basically, he plays normally, then if he messes up he can rewind a bit and perfect the mistake. so it seems flawless
2:07 dash dancing intensifies
Oh yeah?
What if you TAS All-Star mode in SD Remix?
I love the moonwalk at 2:44
TAS can stand for Tool-Assisted Superplay also.
WOW, INCREDIBLE!

to be honest i was hoping for an awesome credits ownage but i guess no video can be that complete right...? :(
5:22 idk if its my speakers or not but it sounded like lightning struck my house
i'm a bit busy to be watching this entire video atm, so i don't know if you did this or not.

You broke the game so bad the game gave you the Fox trophy upside down
Loving the M2K colors.
OMG I JUST REALISED
4:10 Fox shines to the beat :'p
Impressionnant Wak !! :D
This guy's BEAST!:D Rock on!;D
Rare footage of DARK playing All Star.
This was awesome!
I think my speakers broke on the Game & Watch Portion
5:50 I am disapointed... i expected the credits to be rolling super fast while you hit ALL of them
You sir, are an expert.
See that dmg meter on the bottom left? Well, you won't be needing that.
wow! Awesome! Totally loved the moonwalk. XD
I've figured out how to use Reflector-To-Up-Smash properly.
I hate Chuck Norris or Mango jokes in connection to this.
It was Wak putting a lot effort to this so please don't say it was another guy even if it is a joke :/
Great TAS btw.
It's a lot of fun to watch this.
2:02 phantom hits are awesome
Cool, SilentWolf doing Allstar
he's not doing anything you're not allowed to do in the game, just plays it in an extremely slow speed and can redo any part that he messes up
@Wakssbm hey how do you do a multiple blue shield. (fox's down b move).
Tool assisted generally means playing in an emulator frame by frame and using savestates
ur the best at this game i am going to subscribe
Wow! Incredible!
I'VE IMMEDIATELY SUBSCRIBED
this is.. awesome... OMFG
definitely thought he was going to shoot all the names at the end
@seedot35 Tool Assisted Speedrun/Superplay, it's emulator based software that pushes games to the best of their abilities.
This made me lol so hard! OMG Great job lol
If you press X or Y to jump while you're using reflector it immediately cancels
That was chuck norris sleeping, playing with a nes controller and with his beard.
This is awesome fast owning nice dude
That was amazing.
@streetfighterguy11 down b, jump, and down b again instantly. I think there's a.... 2 frame window?
5:24 did someone breathe on the mic
