CPS did get involved in this action
Dad allowed to pick up the child from CPS
however CPS didn't do anything else
    CPS told me
they wanted to interview her first
as a result of CPS involvement
    letter by that agency
she was threatening to come over here and get her
I didn't have a complete order all they got to do is talk to the CPS worker

Given the circumstances I think any concerned parent would struggle like this. In the end his mistakes in talking out of turn it off topic didn’t hurt his victory, mostly because the judge, while frustrated, still recognized the real issue with the mom. But this is a great example of why retaining council is traditionally a better option. A professional would’ve been able to step in to prevent the outbursts.
In the dad’s defense, council does cost money and he’d been taking care of the littles all on his own.

    • @justanothersmith6012
      @justanothersmith6012 5 месяцев назад +1

@@SuperLoop7209 I think more parents would hire attorneys if they could afford it. You typically have to pay a retainer fee up front, which is thousands of dollars in adversarial cases.
They charge hundreds of dollars an hour and worth every penny when fighting for your children, but if you don’t have it, you don’t have it.💸
Even less complicated cases cost more than those living paycheck to paycheck can afford.

Parents need to take time before even considering introductions, let alone how long they need to invest in trust building. Unfortunately, there are too many men and women who either simply don't have the capacity or who are just bad news. Male or female, you never trust anyone with your children like that unless/until there are years worth of an established relationship and track record. I still had a 14 yr old daughter at home when her father and I split up. I went on a few dates after a while, but ultimately chose to stay single. To me, it just wasn't worth the risk. So... She has plans in the next year to move her family of 5 which consists of herself, her unemployed new husband and 3 children (that belong to another man/men) back to Texas to live at her grandmothers house. And it's probably safe to assume that her husband also has children from one or more previous relationships, whom he doesn't support since he's "unemployed"... Yet she thinks she should have custody back of a 4th child? She's also still technically unemployed (sopposedly worked in Alaska for 4 months), but has been the sole provider for a family of 5, which means she and her husband are living off of her childrens child support, public assistance for her children or both. Unless there's some serious changes to their circumstances, she has no business, be it through custody or birth, bringing any more children into her care. I believe that she abandoned the child. I think she's full of it and wants the additional child support more than the child. But hey, that big cross necklace she wore for court was a nice touch.

Why do you have to do a “head count” of the people that live in your household. That is just something you know.
5 people 3 kids 2 adults no income … and you want to add another kid to the house …

Mr Sewell needs an attorney too. The child needs protection from the mother, and for the sake of the child everyone needs to cooperate.

Dad, Shut up, you have already won. Texas law states that child is now locked in Bell county. No judge in this state will ever let that child leave that jurisdiction. Bell County will keep control. This is over before it started. Brother just be quiet and let thing take its course. The entire law is on his side.

This is ridiculous. She only wants the kid back so she gets the $$. But, dad is doing everything here the judge doesn't see it. So we can drag this on and harm the child.

In my opinion, dad is doing the right thing. He needs a lawyer and mom’s lies will be netted out

Looking at these cases I feel for the fathers, this woman is not stable. She said she moved to different homes in a short time, and now has a husband. Who is this man? No absolutely not should they put a 4 year old back in her care.

Young man, please get an attorney. It is in your and your daughter’s best interest. Don’t rely on the guardian ad litem.

Stop having children out of wedlock. Married parents should be the norm instead of all these broken homes and half siblings running around.

He still needs the child's SSN to get her on his health insurance immediately.
