Go buy this product, you will not be disappointed! It can be used for so many different things… writing, arranging, recording, live shows (big and small), sound & EFX production, film cues, quick demos, or just play the sounds and use it as a stress reliever after a challenging day.
I love the opening of this video. You're like a kid who just got a video switcher for Christmas! I'm a little late to the party, but this looks like a fantastic product and been watching all our videos. I'm inches away from buying :)
Don't be intimidate by the apparent complexity of Unify ! Yes it can be really sophisticated but start by scanning your plugins ans the show will begin ! I use maybe only 30% of the possibilities but it's so amazing yet ! I discover everyday something I can use, step by step. Thanks to Skippy's videos like this one. I've got some monstruous sounds now ! Awesome !
This is really helpful because I am just getting into it. There are so many videos and playlists on this channel, it would be great if there’s a playlist of videos just like this one that helps round out the features in updated versions of Unify beyond the initial release. The plugin is so expensive, I’m sure to otherwise miss new and improved features. Thank you!
Great overview John ! I'm going to explore more Blue Arp functions after seeing this demo ... had overlooked it more or less until now. Great work on all these features !
Nice new camera work. Would like more video on setting up hardware controllers, including more complex ones than the NanoKorg. Thanks for reminding us of all the wonderful features Unify has.
I second the motion! 👍👍 Perhaps I'm dreaming, but this is what I am hoping to do with Unify: For each song, I would LOVE to be able to set up "Intro" patches, "Verse Patches", "Chorus Patches", "Break Patches", etc...then toggle between them using a foot controller. 🙏 So, during a live performance, I could progress through a song, however, if there's a need to insert an additional Chorus or Verse, I could just stomp on my "Chorus Patches" or "Versus Patches" footswitch & go there without taking my eyes & hands away the keyboard. (I'm not as coordinated as most keyboard players...lol) And, as John demonstrated in this video, I could use Aux busses so the previous patches & their reverb wouldn't be cut off until I hit the next set of notes, rather than as soon as I hit the footswitch to change to the Chorus/Verse patches.) 👍😎👍
A fantastic overview that I have 'bookmarked'. 👍👍 I'll be sure to share this with friends who are curious about Unify, plus this will be a great reference when I'm sitting there going "Hmmm....I think remember John saying you could do ________. How did you set it up?" 👍👍
Loving all the powerhouse features in Unify! Any chance that we could see some form of "preset import" feature in a future update? Not sure if you're familiar with VIP 3.0 by Akai but it was a plugin that housed all of the users Plugins and allowed them to import all of those plugins presets to create a central library of multiple different software instruments. I think this would be HUGE for workflow and make it a must buy for those who own multiple instruments with large preset banks!
It would be great if there was a way to trigger a midi external instrument and have it routed back into unify along with the patches that would be next league
Hi I love the program Im just wondering if you are going to add a patch preview feature as with so so many sounds it would be good to hear each one first rather than load unload?
Looks like a fantastic piece of software - I am going to download the Demo and buy hopefully! I had a couple of questions - is it possible to play Windows VST plugins on the Mac version of Unify? Also, you showed exporting a midi file from Logic to Unify to use the polyphonic Midi Box offers with the multiple layers (very cool!) - but how can I get the sound back into Logic? Or is it just a case of loading Unify inside Logic and it acts like an VST? Thank-you
Hi Crispin - unfortunately that isn't possible. The code base is totally different so you need to use the Mac version if it exists.... if it doesn't then you'll need to use a PC.
If i understand this correctly: It’s a VST/AU plugin host So I could host multiple vst’s from this one program, just like a physical rack full of modules, correct? So i could hookup my MPC to sequence a rack full of vst’s and fx, correct?
Yes, we are a VST/Host plug-in with over 40 plug-ins installed that make it more useful out of the gate. Easy layering of a plug-in that doesn't include the ability to Layer (or split) is just the start of what Unify provides. I like to call us the "Host with the Most." :D If you have any other questions, contact us at unifysupport@pluginguru.com. Always happy to help!
I tried out the demo, and the full version is one I'm going to buy today! I'm curious if it's possible to change layers in your BPMs so they use drum sounds from plugins like EZDrummer 2 or Superior Drummer 3, to get more of a clean sampled sound instead of a digital drum sound?
That depends on the library you’re using. Unify can load the Kontakt Player so it will work fine as long as the library was made with support for the player version. All of my library‘s that I sell at my website require the full version of Kontakt.
@@PlugInGuruVideo i found a solution i think! By using Jitterbox in 0.0ms mode, and setting pitchjitter to 100% output range to -c2 and it worked for me!! Thanks for your quick reaction and support(like always)
Hold down option/alt and change the volume of 1 layer and all layers will change. You also have the Global Effect (Magenta colored layer) master volume to work with.
@@PlugInGuruVideo I see how these two suggestions work. Thank you, for the prompt response. However, is there a way of doing this so I don't have to do this with each sound. For example, I was trying to balance out Superior Drummer 3 with this, and each as a stand a lone, and Unify was quite a bit louder, so I want to keep the same volume as I'm going through each of the sounds in Unify I'm looking for, without having to adjust it each and every time I move up and down the sounds. Make sense?
The GUI is to dark, on my 4K screen it is almost unreadable. SCALING is a crap. The window can be resized but font sizes remain the same. Setting background and font colors/size is a crucial part and none of this can be adjusted. Most developers do not know how to design usable GUI and should be fired for that ! I was about to buy this PLUGIN but after running the DEMO on my 4K screen I would not be able to sue it for more than 5 min. My eyes get tired, I do not care the sound and features if I cannot read the interface. This GUI should be completely redesigned OR at least fixed, I opened it on my laptop and it kinda looks OK (not really impressing) but on a desktop it is crap. It all looks OK on the video then the view is zoomed in, but not in reality. You can contact me if you would like to hear some suggestions. I used to do software development for 40 years I like the concept and general idea for this plugin but it really, really needs some serious fixes. It is also not very intuitive.
Maybe you can do some of these with some serious work at making multiple tracks and then going thru the process of loading up the plug-ins and then the presets, but you can't do it in literally a second and then load 23 more presets (each with up to 24 layers of any/all your plug-ins) with a simple mouse click while the other layers keep sounding for interrupted play. A DAW has many strengths over Unify, patch management with all the factory patches to 80+ plug-ins with our free Unified libraries plus over 30 specialty libraries we've created put us on a very different level than anything you can do with your DAW.
Pluginguru customer for life! Unify is 🔥

fantastic new cam views. thank you for the aax version.
Great vid! And thank you for the time stamps.
Necessary video - thank you
I love Unify!!!! Can you add a record button that allows you to record an idea when using it in stand alone?
Hi Rodney! Record for audio or MIDI?
@@PlugInGuruVideo Both! :)
@@PlugInGuruVideo John, the patches are so inspiring, you don't want to lose an idea!

Do you need omnisphere 2 to use the omnisphere patches in side Unify,? Its not clear ?
Yes - for any library that is FOR a certain plug/in, you have to own and have it installed in Unify. We use by default the VST (not VST3) format.
I tried out the demo, and the full version is one I'm going to buy today! I'm curious if it's possible to change layers in your BPMs so they use drum sounds from plugins like EZDrummer 2 or Superior Drummer 3, to get more of a clean sampled sound instead of a digital drum sound?
Absolutely any layer can be replaced with any plug-in. That’s the magic of Unify 😊 Welcome to the family!
Yes!
YESS!! FInally

@@PlugInGuruVideo Thanks!
Can I put Unify on an audio channel too? To use it as an plugin host? Say an audio saturation plugin vst in logic pro?
Unify is an instrument only plug-in at this time. Something like this might show up in the future...
Is there a way to setup Unify to play every note the same pitch?
For triggering patterns that only play on -c2 for instance?
Inside of GuruSampler, yes. We don’t have a midi effect that can do that (yet).

When using this as a standalone, like I often do, how do you do something as simple as turn the volume up and down on the whole overall sound?
Hold down option/alt and change the volume of 1 layer and all layers will change. You also have the Global Effect (Magenta colored layer) master volume to work with.
