I have two screens, but use the triple screen option. Mine are stacked vertical. I keep the mixer on top, with the arrangement view at the bottom. The third window is the editing window. When I click on a clip in the arrangement view, the editing view pops up on the bottom screen. This gives me access to all three windows fully open, and large enough that it's not a pain to use them. I have to use the icon at the bottom as a switch to get back to the arrangement view, but worth it for how easy it is to edit instead of a cramped window. Prefer to have the mixer open and viewable at all times to check levels.

It's insane to me that Bitwig doesn't let you just open up customized windows for each workflow and make a customized arrangement that you can save. It's absolutely mindboggling to me they don't do it and it's one of many gripes I have with this DAW. I still love Bitwig but FFS let us scale our own workflow and increments of GUI scaling should be much more than 25% pivots. Someone in Germany go slap someone for me.

Perhaps you can do a video on better organization of the VSTs and browser contents. I know you have Favorites, New Collection, and Smart Collection, and I never hear people talking about best practices on organizing their plugins, or samples within Bitwig. Sometimes you don't remember the name of the plugin at the moment, so entering the name on top isn't always an option.

Hey !!! Well that is very personal....each have their own way or organizing things, so I can show you how I organize my library and plugins....but it's not a rule. What i could do is talk about the favorites, the collections, smart collection and so on...i could do that and in the process just show you how I like to keep it together with at least 1TB of samples and patches, and around 900 plugins. hahaha

@@XNBeatsMusic That would be great. Also may be a good way to audition midi that's easier than the built-in midi preview instrument. 🙂

Thanks for this, I actually quite like Studio/Touch simply because the touch window puts the Device panel at the top of the screen, maybe I should put some books under my monitor but its always given me a sore neck looking down at it while doing sound design... anyway wouldnt have found it if not for you! thank you so much for the great content.

I hate the layout options.. there just do many options when I’m used to live for a decade and Ableton is so straight forward. It’s simple.
I found a setup that is somewhat close to how I had Ableton
Laptop screen : session view/mixer, browser
    Big screen arrangement window
For some reason it wanted to keep making my big sceen the one with the main inspector shit
Took a bit to get it to work that way
    Shoulda been simpler
And where is the damn groove pool and slicing/warping in sampler
I really do like BW after a month .. I did buy it with the cross grade.
I find myself missing Ableton tho.
Gonna stick with it tho and see
Sound design is dope in BW

Hello, first I like your videos! I have some problems trying to use two screens. I've been testing with my laptop and a tv screen but I can't manage to make the mouse to show up on the tv screen, is that because is not a monitor? Also two tabs appear in the Toolbar as if I had only one screen. Maybe I am doing somehting wrong in the Windows Screen Setup?.

Good workflow tip! Like you I have 3 displays (technically 2 + laptop screen) but don’t really use the 3rd much. I tend to stay in Master/Detail view, but I can see how they could all be useful. Maybe there’s a keyboard shortcut for switching between them? I’ll have to check next time I’m on my laptop!

Disappointingly, no, there does not appear to be a shortcut for switching display profiles. That would be useful if you’re like me and going back and forth between mixing and arranging a lot!

Hey. Yeah if you are the lucky owner of many monitor it just a fantastic workflow. Much easier and much lest clicking. I didn't check for that. It could be useful a shortcut for that. Add a request to bitwig, should be simple to implement.

    Is stock plugins re _sizeable?

    • @XNBeatsMusic
      @XNBeatsMusic  2 года назад

Well, no. Bitwig works a bit like ableton, some plugins you can detach them and resize. But you cannot for most of them.
