The more I watch you as I progress through the Gong Fu system I am learning, the more I respect your skill and your technicality. I could go back through all your videos I watched months ago and catch things I never noticed back then. Thanks for the videos Adam :)
Ligaments are stronger than "muscles". Ligaments are cable to the crane, or skeletal structure. Muscles are meant to stabilize the "lever". Relaxed power with wrist snap is devastating. Even a Jut Sao on the shoulder can drive a man to the ground (if focused on "center" or tailbone). Glad to see you incorporated pressure points. Nice stuff! The reverse hammerfist (with wrist snap) is also nasty and can even be used in chain-punch fashion to the jaw.
Fantastic video. I have never had formal wing chun training but this is exactly what i have in mind whenever i am exploring philosophy and body mechanics when coaching young people in self defense.
Key difference with relaxing that I think will help people understand is don't relax the arm then hit. It's not about freeing up from tense muscles, that's just a beneficial reaction of the relaxation. Rather, relax into the target with your strike. Don't relax the arm and extend it, relax the arm into the target. You're hitting with the weight of the limb, not the strength of it. Unless of course Adam Chan says otherwise. He's the master here. I'm just some guy on youtube.
I've been saying great things ... Talking about turning them and a knife hammer bsckfist the reason that's correct and I agree is the opposite you could block it ... Maybe you didn't want to teach that. Yin shoulder back yang shoulder forward some people are taught differences. I think a yang cross block would block that and a yin does not. I don't know why I said that. Just did.
The only thing about teaching martial arts in the modern world is students aren't really vetted - you pay, I teach - the that had his hand hit could using his skills to be a serial rapist - ya just don't know.
Thats d Taiko drum practice in d nxt room. They r training @ d same time as them @ a community center. That's d way it's gonna b. U can just practice ur concentration or turn up d volume. Don't complain deal w it!
@Action. TRUE. Perhaps these kung fu guys don't spar enough and only look good in demos. Bruce Lee got into sparring to know what works for him. Similarly, ufc fighters look good during training but different in the ring. I don't really know why.
You have to practice on guys that are trying to not let you do what you are trying to do. Then it doesn’t matter what your art is, if there is something in it that works you will find it.
Love the relaxed atmosphere during the session.
Thanks for sharing! Have an awesome day!

I love wing Chun and martial arts but it looks so staged and fake. Any videos of a real spar?
Hey Adam according to MMA and ufc wing chun doesn’t work lol
