That’s a sweet easy retwist. I have SisterlocksTM and I have begun to combine them. I had 592 Sisterlocks and I have combined at least 75 of them. Too many and too many issues with them. I also just have a hard time with interlocking looking right for my hair texture. I also like the look and maintenance of traditional locks by palmrolling. Knowing I can successfully palm roll micro Locs is the best news yet. This is soooooo helpful. Plus, your locs are gorgeous. And you look wonderful in yellow!
Thanks for sharing your retwist routine it was very informative. Your locks are beautiful 😍 i enjoy your videos because you explain details better than most lock people on RUclips.
Thank you 💜💜 Great video, I was really considering twisting micro locs and wasn't sure how to go about it.. This video helped a lot (and btw, there are videos about retwists but usually not on microlocs so this really helps) Your locs are amazing and totally my #locgoals 😍
Loved it! Just started my microlocs with 2 strand twists on my channel. I have been interlocking it but I’m seeing more and more people retwist like you! You’re looks great! 😍😍
Thank you for sharing your video. I think my lock will end up this size I wondered what a full head would look like. I'm literally in the process of 2 strand twist to start my locs. Your locs look very beautiful and very healthy. I'm a very little maintenance girl as well. You have beauuuutiful skin btw! New subbie!
Your locs are lovely. Less is more with all hair types and textures. Naturals do too much, even with locs. Too many people over twists locs which creates issues with hair loss around the edges. Aloe is so awesome for the hair! Do you ever do herbal or acv rinses?
Thank you for sharing your routine Kaya. I like the way you care for your locs. They always always look beautiful, healthy and strong. Less really is more in my humble opinion. I currently have Sisterlocks which I've had for just over 3yrs now. I'm still thoroughly enjoying them and my journey so very much. BUT if ever I felt I needed to move on from SLs, I think I would adopt a routine similar to yours. In that I would be looking at self maintenance (because that does strongly appeal to me, but not with my current sized locs; they're far too small and at over 500+ on my crown there's too many of them for that option to be viable for me). I'd begin with combining my SLs and to leave more time between retwists/interlocking sessions. Currently I can only see myself moving on to thicker and thicker locks (but not life without locs), even jumbo sized locs, combining down to say around 50 locs in total on my crown, or even freeforming by the time I get down to that size - that is if I ever did of course(I do love all types of locs). Definitely the way forward for me if ever I came to that fork in the road. Currently it would be detrimental to the integrity of my Sisterlocks to go longer than my current 6 weeks regimen. Anyway great video xxx
why do you alternate between interlocking and retwisting? I'm asking because I've microlocs also and I want to stop interlocking just because I feel like my loss would be thicker if I retwisted instead of interlocking. Would it be possible for me to just retwist my hair instead of alternating between the two?
Your locs are very pretty and healthy looking. You palm rolled in the video. Will you interlock for the next retwist? If so, how long will you wait before you interlock? Also, how do you keep up with the direction in which you palm roll since you don't do it very often?
You are definitely my loc crush. & this is my kind of retwist session! Simple & low maintenance. I don't have time for extra. And the aloe vera gel seems to work well. I think I may try it once I start my locs. Do you recommend interlocking more? And does interlocking cut down on loc frizz?
Girl! You looked stunning!!!! 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾🔥🔥🔥 yes keep it simple that’s right up my street. Your Locs look so healthy. Isn’t it a shame to wash your hair when the curls are popping I’m about to wash my curls out too. How often do you wash your hair please? That lemon 🍋 top looked gorgeous on you..... yes swing that hair girl! a great vid..😂😂👏🏾👏🏾👍🏾
kayajourney I know the struggle and oh my days I wash my hair every 2 weeks too! Your curls last long!!!!!! Do you use any holding products or just oils? Sorry too many questions 🤭 I’m working you girl! 😂💕
Thanks for doing the retwist for us! It's good to see you back at your hair game, even if only for a video :O) I know there's not much to talk about these days, so I get it. It just takes me back :) Hair looks amazing!
Do you find the oil to be lightweight? I'm using a castor oil blend on my locs and while I love it, it's a bit too heavy to use daily or every other day. I am looking for a lightweight oil that seals moisture well and give the hair some shine
Add your castor oil to a spray bottle 80-90% water and castor oil. It makes it very light and moisturizing. I use my spray everyday no build up. If you try it let me know your thoughts.
I sweat mostly in my head. I normally oil my scalp every other day but it still gets dry. Any advice in what to use to help with moisture and keeping it in?
What are some alternatives for drying your hair if you won’t have a hair dryer ? I like the simple method, but I’m wondering how I’d go about drying my hair after retwists
Beautiful locs! Mine are around the same size and I was wondering in between the 3 to 4 months without twisting do you wash them? I usually don’t wash until a retwist since mine tend to combine when wet but a friend is telling me I shouldn’t do that. What do you think?
I really love how you've made your lock journey your own. They look really amazing... You should start calling these "Kaya" locks!

You are welcome Rosemary. I try to make it as clear as possible. I am so glad the details helped. 🖤
Thank you 💜💜
