Yeah, I felt I missed something in the edited version; like Sean having a couple turns scoring 15 or something. Also, the shorter version didn't go into the really important dynamic of when to go into decline and when to keep playing.
@@sandal_thong8631 Wow, the beauty and the curse of RUclips comments! 8 years and someone finds a comment relevant. xD My friends did that with a bunch of different words a few days ago! They swapped the first letter of two words to make new words. The funniest pair of words was pop corn (try swapping the first p and c if you still don't understand).
Did anyone else notice the red dragon move in the back at 1:23:33? Has this been happening the whole video or was everyone really lucky not to be killed by fire breath?
Yup! I re-watched to make sure my eyes actually saw what I thought they saw. But its timing was perfectly in response to Sean saying that Grant was leading at beginning of round 7, so my theory is that the dragon was just rooting Grant on.
I like the 30 minute and the 2 hour versions being separate. I enjoy watching others play games and having fun so the 2 hour version is for me. I've been CRAVING some more tabletop lately.
I was just going to post something about that! It seems as though the dragon prop in the background is waving its tail in response to Sean's announcement that Grant was in first place. I think we all know who the prop dragon was rooting for, LOL
I've always wondered when they record all the straight-to-camera interviews. Do they pause in the middle of games to do that ? Or do they record all of it at the end ?
absolute favorite part is the poker lingo that Wil and Sean use (both being poker players) that no one else gets, but I DO!!! Sean even says "One Time"
Wow. Just soooo much wow. I believe I am with everyone else when I say I reeeeally did not expect Sean of all people to win, and by 2 points no less. Bravo sir, bravo. Although, really if it weren't for Jenna's Crazy bitches and Sean's Ghoul's it never would have happened.
A note from a Canadian, in any strip club ive been to they do not let you put change on the dance floor as it is a slipping hazard. You got to put up at least a five or GTFO. Small World is a great game to set up a homebrew RPG. You create a history of your RPG world by playing a game of small world.
wow that hill sorcerers beginning was the most horrible i ever seen, didnt even start at a hill, and used extra pieces to take mountain controlled land plots wich is not very smart in the beginning
That's a really bad house rule. Giants become a ridiculous spread-race with that like the amazons and ratmen when they're supposed to be a defensive race that spreads if the time is right. Unless you can pick forest or commando or something - then they're just supposed to bash and smash through the trees forever.
I agree but there was blatant ignoring of the rules throughout the entire episode so it was just one more thing. Ultimately, the giants cheating is probably what lead to the end result.
If you are turning to TableTop for an accurate 100% always correct, always played by the rules game, you are honestly turning to the wrong place. This is suppose to be fun, not only for them playing, but for us as the viewers. Anyone taking it as seriously as the comments above is kinda missing the entire point of all of this.
Satan It may not be a consolation, but there are many board games for the iPad that can be played against artificial intelligence opponents (including this one). I haven't downloaded this particular game yet, but I find the AI opponents in the other games I play on my iPad mini very credible.
Satan D&D isn't really a board game. You CAN use miniatures to help with the fighting, but fighting isn't the point of the game. Roleplaying is the important part ... but sadly people have to go through several phases until they get to the true point of the game: 1. "Monty Hall phase" with lots of fighting AND LOOT. This also includes "nothing bad ever happens storytelling RPG" ... like Wil's "Titanfall campaign". Having unlimited resources will become boring eventually (well hopefully), so people switch to ... 2. "Ruleslawyer phase" where people are sticking to the rules no matter what ... and ignore the story. This can get tedious in fights too, when you are looking up "obscure rule #1663" for five minutes. After this you finally get to ... 3. "Roleplaying phase" where you are starting to actually FEEL for the CHARACTER and try to bring him alive. If you have bad luck it can lead to ... 4. "Politicians phase" ... where the players are manipulating each other for personal profit.
RIP Grant, you were one of the reason why I dove into the hobby
I wish I could’ve met him
Wish in all the games he played he’d have won one. At least he must have enjoyed playing to keep coming back

Yup! I re-watched to make sure my eyes actually saw what I thought they saw. But its timing was perfectly in response to Sean saying that Grant was leading at beginning of round 7, so my theory is that the dragon was just rooting Grant on.
Love you Grant. You are a Perfect example of wonderful. You made the world better when you were here and that is all we can hope to do.
Yay! SPORTS!
I like the 30 minute and the 2 hour versions being separate. I enjoy watching others play games and having fun so the 2 hour version is for me. I've been CRAVING some more tabletop lately.
1:23:33 It's alive!
And it's rooting for Grant to win!
It's HUGE!
The extended edition actually makes the sequence of events and jokes make sense xD Loved it. All the games should be uncut from now on xD
look at 1:23:32 and look at the dragon in the background
I was just going to post something about that! It seems as though the dragon prop in the background is waving its tail in response to Sean's announcement that Grant was in first place. I think we all know who the prop dragon was rooting for, LOL
RIP, Grant. You'll be missed!
I've always wondered when they record all the straight-to-camera interviews. Do they pause in the middle of games to do that ? Or do they record all of it at the end ?
Me too!
I think it's all at the end, then they tell them to do interviews like they don't know who's winning.
Exactly. They are not at all pausing
This episode is so amazing. Their personalities just mesh wonderfully together
I need geeky friends...
Love love love this idea. Gives me something to watch on slow days at work. More extended episodes, please!
How did that dragon move.....?
I saw it too... WTF... Is Wil Wheaton's basement haunted?
where?
I watched that part over 3 times to figure it out...
At 1:23:31 of the video
All Tabletop episodes should be like this, I love seeing every part, so much funny gets cut in editing.
Grant is pretty quiet. He also doesnt seem to get the Starcraft or E-sports references much
He's more nerd and less geek.
this was the best episode ever, I love all the banter. I wish this was a real TV show, or just that Day[9] was in all the episodes
1:23:32That dragon's tail behind Grant... What the hell... Is this place haunted ?
Nope, it was just waving its tail at Grant being in first place at the beginning of round 7.
absolute favorite part is the poker lingo that Wil and Sean use (both being poker players) that no one else gets, but I DO!!! Sean even says "One Time"
Wow this was before Day9 got his tooth fixed...
As I watch more and more table top I keep finding so many people I like have been on this show. So cool.
Well, it's perfectly understandable. She was a novice on her first move and thought the mountains were hills.
Love the extended vids. More plz. Thanks for your hard work!
So wait, the crewman knew that you need a token to go with the dragon, but said nothing about Sean's blatant cheating with the giants??
House rules, I guess
That's a really bad house rule. Giants become a ridiculous spread-race with that like the amazons and ratmen when they're supposed to be a defensive race that spreads if the time is right. Unless you can pick forest or commando or something - then they're just supposed to bash and smash through the trees forever.
I agree but there was blatant ignoring of the rules throughout the entire episode so it was just one more thing. Ultimately, the giants cheating is probably what lead to the end result.
***** they could have just not noticed
If you are turning to TableTop for an accurate 100% always correct, always played by the rules game, you are honestly turning to the wrong place. This is suppose to be fun, not only for them playing, but for us as the viewers. Anyone taking it as seriously as the comments above is kinda missing the entire point of all of this.
Rest In peace Grant. We miss you. Mythbusters was the foundation of my childhood. You will live on in our memories.
I really want to play board games (especially D&D) but I never have anyone to play it with, no one seems to want to play with me... :'(
Satan It may not be a consolation, but there are many board games for the iPad that can be played against artificial intelligence opponents (including this one).
I haven't downloaded this particular game yet, but I find the AI opponents in the other games I play on my iPad mini very credible.
Satan Try Roll20. Satan. I'm sure you can find someone just like you there.
Satan many "Looking for group" forums on the internet :) good luck!
Satan DW when I die i'll totally kick your ass at board games
Satan D&D isn't really a board game. You CAN use miniatures to help with the fighting, but fighting isn't the point of the game. Roleplaying is the important part ... but sadly people have to go through several phases until they get to the true point of the game:
Yes, keep 'em coming, and include the outtakes reel as well!
