With multiple support structures, there is no problem if the foundation is broken and does not exceed an area of 3x3. See the second video for the support structure of the empty island.
No, just calculate the distance between the two strongholds, cover the open space below with the foundation, connect it with the tower body, and build upwards. The tower will conduct the supporting force of the foundation to the sky island.
Before the big update, to the most that complain of their games crashing after the update is cuz of all the mods they have installed XD and can no longer utilize that one to help you increase your weight limit, *sigh* I should of taken advantage of it as well...oh well...

1、先铺满地基，选择合适的位置，在一格直线地基上建造2个终端，然后记住它们的位置。
2、将终端拆掉，挪到一旁，在终端原来的位置上建造塔，塔建到你想要的高度就可以进行下一步。
3、在塔顶搭建一个小平台（视频里有岛基座的片段），将地面的终端移到小平台上，按照样子开始搭建浮空岛。

Is the structure decay off?
Yes it should, the pal box is up so high. So the metal pillars that connect the base to the ground will eventually decay , unless it’s 4 bases.
