You can hear the roll-off in the cadence just before they start to play. Either a instructor told the drum line to play the roll-off or it is pre-programmed into the cadence.
The band directors call out the song number (the band already knows what they are). Percussion can kick off any song as long as the band knows what song it is.
When I attended TSU, no other band could top them. They ARE and still the BEST Marching Band on this earth!!! This is the reason they are the ARISTROCRATES!!! Still love TSU. l

jamal spann when I used to do it they weren’t even allowed to give us any kind of coaching its unrealistic, but I’m now I coach but I yell at rehearsal
