Maple Butter Bacon Ice Cream | Parks & Rec Themed Ice Cream

Today we’re making Maple Butter Bacon ice cream! Why? Because it’s Parks & Recreation week (I kinda just made it up) and we wanted to create a flavor that we think the Pawnee residents would be obsessed with.
Many of you know the origin of our name came from none other than Ron Swanson! His character is easily one of the greatest television characters of all time. So since we know Ron is a fan of ice cream, what would his favorite flavor be?
Maple Butter Bacon Ice Cream!
Ron is great but the whole cast is just so dang loveable. Parks & Rec has been my favorite show since 2009, mainly because prior to the airing of the show I already loved Amy Poehler and Aziz Ansari. Seeing the journey this crew has been on since it first aired had been a blast to witness. That’s why I was elated to see them return for one more episode on April 30th to raise money for Feeding America.

Recipe
1 cup whole milk
2 cups heavy cream
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
3/4 cup pure maple syrup
3 egg yolks
5 pieces of bacon
