I live in northern California Bay area, I pay $400 / month that is property tax, My house is paid off. Bought it with family members we all have houses 3 in total. We helped each other getting those houses.
I live in the SF East Bay. Bought my house in the early 80’s for 86K. Needed work so I put in the work. Paid it off in just under 10 years. Now it’s assessed value is 1.2 mil.

My house is 2800 sq feet, 4 bedrooms, 3 bath. It costs me 2k a month on a 15 year mortgage. So glad I don’t live in California.
