i have come across the best bass mpc i own to date a woodind steele ebonite made in france! its simply amazing in its quality and detail work. blows my bay away!. ultra reed friendly . i also found an alto clarinet version and its just as good. who really made these?
I'm sure there are some great Kaspar bass mouthpieces out there...just none that I've tried (for me). I also try to make sure the voicing isn't that far from soprano clarinet, because I do sometimes play Principal and Bass in the same concert...
I actually comissioned a contrabass clarinet mpc to have concave sidewalls (ala Conn mpcs with super easy low register) but the maker quit the job saying the intonation was bleh :(
