"The police are escalating this situation" all the while rocks are being thrown at the officers. Little does people know a rock constitutes as a "Deadly weapon" and in the United States the law states: if someone in the crowd becomes unlawful the entire crowd is unlawful. So usually that means if someone becomes violent in the protest, leave quickly or you will be assumed just as violent. I hate what the police are doing to people but come on folks, roads got 2 sides to it, we need to at least see it from multiple angles.
It shouldn't be that way. When the police also go after peaceful protesters because of one violent person, it will for sure escalate the situation. Those peaceful protesters met with violence from the police will become more agressive. From there it just gets worse and worse, as we've seen

When they charged they receive much lighter sentances than the average civilian but they need to be held to a HIGHER standard, given the power they posess. The other officers who were on the scene need to be charged as well. When cops aren't held accountable (George's killer only was because WE saw the video and WE spoke up) they will continue to abuse their power. They should be scared to use their guns, instead of knowing they can simply say they felt threatened and get away with it

They don't think all cops are bad, hell, yesterday a.cop was seperated from his fellow officers and ten black men protected him from any who would have wanted to do him harm. They don't think all cops are bad but the ones who allow bad practices are in positions that makes calling out bad policing more difficult for the great officers out there. I totally agree that violence shouldn't be needed and I want them to stop but they feel there is million and if they didn't come out on the streets, the ex-officer (he has been fired) wouldn't be facing charges. No, violence shouldn't be happening but everyone should be standing behind the call for justice and an end to police who disgrace the badge being able to think they can abuse the power given to them by the people.

These are uprisings not protests. Protest happen in a specific place over specific issues.
Incorrect. These protests were in direct response to the murder of George Floyd by a police officer. What made things worse is that the Minnesota D.A was at first saying that they may not press charges although they agreed the officer killed George Floyd. The consequence of killing someone cannot just be losing your job, but there should be legal charges. The problem is that this same story has happened so many times with no legal charges against police who killed unarmed black people. People are now boiling over in rage. The solution is to stop the killing of unarmed black people and if it does happen, officers responsible should be held accountable.

KallMe Kolin if you watched the video of the two officers shoving an elderly man, and all the other officers walking past or doing nothing to help as he bled from his head, you’d understand why - while you can be a good person as an officer - those who do nothing to stop the brutality are condemned to be generalized. He did nothing, he wasn’t a threat, and not one of the Buffalo officers helped him. I know good officers. Being “good” isn’t enough when they don’t actively hold the bad ones accountable and stay silent.
