Can all these Serpentine monsters like Loch Ness, Morag etc. be related ? Of course all seem to be part of that long Earthquake fault line from Canada to Norway, prompting researchers to say that these creatures may very well be inhabiting the very bottom (Bed) of the Lakes which seem to be twice the avg. depth of the North Sea ! (In case of Loch Morar).

This creature sounds a lot like the Cadborosaurus living in Cadboro Bay in British Columbia.

I went to Seljord a couple of times back in the 90's. We lived at the caravan park and visited the beach. I remember swimming in the lake, that the water was very warm and the sand was very soft, which is unusual since most beaches are gravel and dirt. We stayed at the beach for hours. We made a BBQ and there was a small kiosk selling ice cream. I got a classic popsicle with pineapple flavor and chewing gum centre. The sausages we made had that classic charcoal taste. Some of the older kids got to do water skiing. You paid a local guy to go on the boat. They had no cares in the world and had so much fun despite splashing in somewhere in the middle of the lake. I wanted to go myself, but I wasn't old enough to try. We did a boat trip though, fishing without much luck. I remember looking out on the lake and the calm surface seemed pretty dead to me. I'm used to smaller lakes where you follow the wakes of the trout as it catches water insects in order to improve your odds of finding. We had no such luck in Seljord. We went to a shop and I found some souvenirs which depicted the alleged monster. I didn't get any, but I did get a weird comic which featured cowboys fighting dinosaurs, a comic I've never managed to track down despite some efforts. We deove along the lake as we were leaving, but at that point I was kinda sad the holiday were over and I envied those that could still go for a swim. Well, that was my story about visiting Seljord and what I saw.

Although I am a skeptic - I have to add that people are 'wrong' when they say there's not enough food to support such a large monster.
In fact, this is just one of several documentaries which actually mentions a creature with which the monster could be confused - but completely overlooks it as a food source.
The moose swimming across this lake, the deer that swim across Loch Ness and other northern lakes that supposedly have these large beasts - 'that's' a potential food source. No, not a very regular source I admit - but who's to say these monsters 'need' to eat regularly? We don't know anything about this creature's metabolism (since no one has ever caught one and studied it, thus nothing can be known of its biology).
Snakes can go without food from 6 months to 2 years - and still have energy enough to move about. Spiders can live for several weeks to a year without food, yet still have the ability to spin webs. (In both cases, starvation times depend on species).
Metabolism can slow right down in the cold. A serpent that swims slowly now and again only to collect a swimming or foundering moose or deer (or even the odd duck or goose) it can scent swimming in the water, these supplemented by an occasional fish and eel may be just enough to sustain it.

What people don't think about is that there could be giant bodies of water under the ground that they don't know about where creatures like these can exist and nobody would see the creatures because of it.

At this point, seeing the images and photos shown here on this video points to a very likely existence of a sizeable creature in the lake. It is anyone's guess at that point to try and guess what it might be. The mystery in itself is what drives one to imagine, sometimes there is great value in allowing ones imagination to create ideas. It is what being a kid was all about.... Mystery is a healthy thing to have, this town is very fortunate.

Interesting, I'd love, for someone to get real photos of this creature or nessy, that would be so cool. The funny thing about these lake serpents is that if they are actual serpentine creatures, serpents / snakes don't swim up and down they all swim side to side through the water, the other funny thing about cryptids is that for them to be around for over 100 years there has to be a rather sizable population. So one of these days someone will definatly catch a good picture.

I'm personally fed up with the arrogance of scientists who think they know everything.
Just like the people of Norway, the lake animals feed in the summer, hibernate in the winter. Perhaps like the giant snakes in South America they only need to feed every 3 months or so?
I just hope these beautiful creatures can stay safe from the torturous instruments of science. It's no wonder they hide as much as possible!💛

I guess you're not wrong. A smaller lake is easier to monitor. Most of the good sighting are forgotten at all places, but if one gets the books it is really something. I'll make an own post about some of it. Edit: It's penned under the profile of Leporidae.

Yup, my thoughts too after seeing the Ogo documentary. I've been investigating Selma for years, largely when I was much younger. I'll write some of my finds in a new post for more to see. Edit: It's penned under the profile of Leporidae.
It seems to me that, it would be easy for the creature to move between the lakes of that area. There is the much larger lake norsjo just down river. Are there sightings in other lakeside towns, in that general area.

@@jquest43 the river goes through a city and different camps. and fks right now a large creature wont be able to get into norsjø because ice has formed in the bottom of the river and its also to shallow to go under.

They are encountering submerged trees and limbs that are just under the surface of the water, getting snagged on the bottom, rolling, and shoving limbs up close to the surface. I'd love to believe in a monster, but this is just Occam's razor.

if there is a large variety of ribbon eel, that could very well be. Those look and swim in exactly the fashion described for sea serpents. The only thing that differs is the head (which usually has a mane or looks dragon-like).
Grandma washing one is easy. Just eels. Back then soaps had fat in it. The eels smelled that n came flying for food. When she hit them n they "split" it was just 2 eels that where side by side that got scared n ran.

I think it's possible that these cryptid sea serpents are actually oar fish or a un discovered or new species of it..
Oar fish are salt water, deep swimming fish, 3 to 5 thousand feet. They only come up to die. The lake is fresh water.
@@angelique7618 you are absolutely correct! Usually if you sea an oarfish at the surface, than get as far away from the shoreline as possible. If it hasnt died from natural causes then there is a good chance that there is a natural disaster coming ie an earthquake or a tsunami about to happen. Which many of the dead or dying oarfish have preceeded.
They also have sound recordings of The sea serphent.

Why are a couple of them so determined to say there must be more than one, a family of them ? It is possible to have only one and it is possible it is several hundred years old .
I'm pretty sure tourism has nothing to do with these sightings :D it's always these dying little towns, where people see these monsters. Still Norse mythology and the stories of Norse monsters are my life blood.

I think some undiscovered species of giant freshwater eels could be behind most ormr sightings. If there are also giant ribbon eels, those even swim in the traditional caterpillar fashion!

It's very commercialised there now and no matter how many times photos are disproved and videos identified as ducks, tree logs, etc - the tourists come back for more, happily keeping an eye out and supporting the local businesses.
In fact, I've still got my Nessie ornament made by the monster spotter who used to live by the pub.
