I enjoyed the dirty three album and very different instrumental music. My favorite album from July is the band Los Campesinos with their album ‘All Hell’
Some interesting choices Andy, apart from Jimi Goodwin, never heard of any, though I will investigate some, the Dirty Three especially. The Jimi Goodwin I'm not sure about, nice music in the background but I really don't like rap. I'll give it a listen and see. I stuck with convention I'm afraid, a road you appear to be walking away from, Deep Purple and Kasabian were the only albums I bought (though I really want the new Black Country Communion), after dabbling with navel gazing introspection I had to have some music with a bit of life in it. I know you said you were underwhelmed with the Deep Purple, me, I love it, I was 17 again listening to 24 Carat Purple in my bedroom 👍
I'm sure you won't like Mala Leche, Marc. It really is rap and you can't get away from it. The track I sampled is probably the most accessible. It was a real surprise to me, but I find the album interesting. Dirty Three is far from conventional too, though in a very different way. You might like it, though I think it is more up Alan's strasse. The other albums are all styles or bands that I have always liked. So they are pretty conventional to me. I'm surprised you've not heard of Death Cab for Cutie. I guess with bands like Purple and Kasabian, I love their early stuff but the more recent stuff I find just more of the same. I'd rather listen to the early stuff. I haven't heard the BCC album. Again I have the first couple and I love Joe Bonnamassa's guitar-playing. Jason Bonham is a fine drummer too. I will check that one out for sure. Thanks for watching again. Cheers mate
Day, I’m like you, I don’t mind swearing it when it becomes every other word, well there is just no reason for that. Mala Leche did sound good. I love Cigarettes After Sex. The first time I ward them off had no idea if it was a man or a woman. Wonderful music. You went pretty folky in July. That is a great Death Cab album, I got them in on VMP. Spanish, I love albums sung in Spanish It helps me practice my Spanish Great update as always
Mala Leche was such a surprise turning out to be hip-hop. It really is a million miles from Doves, but a nice surprise other than the OTT swearing! Thanks for watching Steve. Cheers
Hi Andy, love your July mix of new releases in which I’ve got two of them. I’m hooked on Cigarettes After Sex, still up in the air as to whether their last album is slightly better. I love Cassandra Jenkins latest offering, though I could have done without the minute or so lasting tracks such as Shatner’s Theme etc. Though I can perhaps understand its inclusions due to the concept of the album. I’m also enjoying Jessica Pratt album Here In The Pitch which was also released in July. See you next time 👍
Hi Myles. I know what you mean about the short ditiies on Cassandra's album, but they flow past quickly at least. Jessica Pratt is on my list to check out. Thanks for watching again. Cheers mate
I would have been totally gutted if I had bought that album and found it was all rapping. It would have gone straight into the bin. I cannot tolerate that genre and I have tried to listen to various albums but I find it all to be embarrassing drivel. The fact that there is nearly always huge amounts of swearing involved just sums it up for me and I ain't no prude by any means. When attending West Brom matches i sometimes develop Tourettes but I can do without it in music. Your other choices are interesting and I will give them a listen on Spotify.
Haha, it's that special Baggies tourettes! It's been studied and apparently becomes particularly pronounced playing against Villa and Wolves!! :-) Thanks for watching again. Cheers, mate

Dirty Three was really good. I don't know Los Campesinos. I'll check them out. Thanks for watching. Cheers
