This was exactly what I also said when BlackRock applied for the BTC ETF in order to take control of BTC and to suppress price like what the Big banks do with the suppression of Silver for decades now. However in the case of Silver, they are about to lose control due to many reasons which I can’t explain in this comment.
Blackrock doesnt need to suppress the price, if the ETF is approved BR doesnt have to buy anything. It will just work with the rest of their buddies to get that forked BTC going. Then its all over for the original BTC.
I dont get it.. why so many dedicated Bitcoin people so excited about this Spot ETF. Rather be a 'Pirate' swapping the asset with others that feel the same way.
Blackrock is late in the business. What's far more stange is that the main dump lastly is due to grayscale that is wayyyy larger than blackrock on BTC. Dumping their btc means giving opportunities to the other ETF. They definitely are going to another strategy now.
Don't you remember I warned about this possibility before? Now if enough people own Bitcoin it's way easier for them to switch the US and the world into a cashless society than try to force a CBDC nobody wants down people's throats! peoples beliefs will change when BR starts pouring money into marketing their own BR BTC. People will start to sell the original BTC for this new one which doesnt have the risks of those Satoshi wallets and who the creator was. Once they understand math and blockchain, they will understand why they will not be able to recreate another bitcoin and outlaw the original. Yes governments are having a hard time understanding that they are loosing their power because they cannot control blockchain.
Bitcoin is not the only crypto. The U.S. is not the only country. It's impossible to "ban" self custody since you can hold all your crypto wealth in your mind. If you are worried about forgetting you can store your seed phrase in an unrecognizable form online, like, the second word of each sentence in an email. The possibilities are endless if you have even the slightest creativity.
How have they damaged it? There are 21 million bitcoin… all of which is fully auditable on the blockchain. As she said… the only way they could “damage” it is if they fork it and the whole world just goes along with and accepts the fork they created. I seriously doubt the whole world is going to accept Blackrocks PoS fork that they declare is the real bitcoin…
This is silly. For Blackrock to even start talking about "removing scarcity" they would immediately lose customers. It's a competitive market out there. I think it's more likely that the language around hardforks is to just cover all grounds. There are "unknown unknowns" out there even for them including quantum encryption needs. Blackrock may have some plan but I don't believe this current conspiracy. It's too heavy handed and really doesn't play out the way people are acting like it would.

I’ve been saying this Cash-settled ETFs do not necessarily have to buy the underlying asset. Unlike physically settled ETFs, which typically hold the actual assets they track, cash-settled ETFs settle their trades in cash rather than by exchanging the underlying assets.
I have always said the average person doesn’t care about “not your keys, not your crypto”. People just want to buy and see what happens. ETF will do that.
Great discussion points Casey. My take on the ETF's is this was inevitable because ultimately money chases alpha and right now big money needs Bitcoin. However they are so late to the party getting a stronghold in the Bitcoin ecosystem will be neigh on impossible. Spot market is the over the counter instruments, which is controlled by big institutional companies, future market is not OTC, in the future market you as retail trader have no institutional companies controlling the price over the telephone 📞
So then what are you holding at this point? Have you sold all your Bitcoin or are you waiting for it to pump substantially as part of this ploy and hoping to sell it before it becomes captured?
It's even worse than that before those modifications are implemented the nav or net asset value of the funds will deviate from the account holding. Not your keys not your coins is an order of magnitude more important today

If you're only American, you're screwed. You can't participate in IDO's, many exchanges won't accept you to sign up for a account. If you want to open a foreign bank account you have to fill out a W-9 form in most countries. Just know that as an American you are not considered a citizen, you are property of the United States. You find that out very quickly once you try to do handle funds outside the US. So much for land of the free. Most Americans have no idea.
With more people having exposure to BTC through the ETF and witnessing all the geopolitical events the people will see how powerful BTC truly is and will eventually become orange pilled and deny BR’s scheme

BTC in a way stands its ground because you can't control it, no matter how many ETF are there. Specific supply and there is proof of that. Of course, there could be copies of other BTC with specific supplies. The absence of Satoshi or he is not involved anymore makes it more reliable.
Many have tried to fork BTC it has never been successful. There is no nuking process in a POW decentralized Nakamoto consensus blockchain. This is a technological fact.

BTC in a way stands its ground because you can't control it, no matter how many ETF are there. Specific supply and there is proof of that. Of course, there could be copies of other BTC with specific supplies. The absence of Satoshi or he is not involved anymore makes it more reliable.
Many have tried to fork BTC it has never been successful. There is no nuking process in a POW decentralized Nakamoto consensus blockchain. This is a technological fact.

Cuz I have gold and they manipulate that market with futures contracts... And like u said they have more paper contracts than actual physical gold ... It doesn’t look like it makes a difference if you hold your crypto and a cold storage wallet and then you go to use it and the government takes it or has rules against it. Are you have something that you can’t use stored in a wallet you can’t buy anything withthat when I’m understanding
