These are as far as I know, only available for the mystery booster Draft in Vegas later this year. It’s not a product that will be released for retail, so the prices would be exceptionally high.
first of all there's claims about a festival box having them too. secondly they claimed the same thing for mystery booster 1 but made a retail version months later (possibly the same thing could happen here.)
I like it...but it always makes me think of cards that really push the boundaries of what Magic can do. Feels a bit weird having it around a counterspell.
i personally think that the white border looks great on the snow cards, and assuming they're affordable, I want to get my hands on the future sight command tower and sol ring
by the way for those who are new with white border cards and never seen them before basically in Core sets within Unlimited and Ninth Edition that's how they showed which cards were reprints in those sets and they stopped after that due to unapealing and that it was typically mistaked as exclusive cards and don't get me started on being able to erase the borders with masking tape and a good eraser back in the day
Magic players are magic players wizards knows this Wizards: don’t worry the chihuahua will stop barking they won’t bite you , they will stop when they get hungry
my only complaint with the Future sight frame is that we wont ever get cards with a large casting cost in them. like progenitus. everything else with them is neat. i just dont know how to feel about how regular, non gimmicky cards are getting the frame. cause it is the future sight frame, and future sight is all about wild abilities
From Time Spiral to Planar Chaos to Future Sight that block is one of my favorites of all time. I thought the new frames were cool, but I didn't want all of the cards in every set going forward to look like that. it's great to see people come aroun on them. Future Sight certainly came way before it's time 😆
the white borders are kinda weird but the colors do really pop with some of those borders and colors, be neat if a a bunch of snow cards got white borders I think that would be a fitting place for it.
The card frames are very nostalgic but unfortunately, it's hard for me to enjoy them when it's just another nostalgia bait in a very, very long line of nostalgia bait from Wotc.
Call me crazy but I just want my magic cards to look like magic cards, and I mean I’m not in favor of the retro frame for one in the first place or “special treatments” or any of this weird stuff. Just keep it consistent. Why are there 3+ different versions of a brand new magic card all in the same set it releases in? Sometimes there isn’t even a normal version at all, only an extended art or a special foil. I just want normal cards! Yes, there are a bunch of cards that do look nice in alternate versions. It’s jarring though. It would be one thing if they did it in moderation and only made other styles for a handful of cards in products that aren’t a main set release. It’s just everywhere and it’s confusing to look at and it’s confusing for new players. Only thing that matters to wizards/hasbro is $$$ and they’re deliberately creating artificial reasons for players to buy more copies of more cards more than they are trying to celebrate or reference anything, and it works.
I use white border lands in any deck where I’m looking for basics a lot. Just speeds up the process ever so slightly. That said, I’m not sure how I feel about the new white borders. They’re missing something to help separate the border from the color frame. The white border kenrith just looks like a misprint. So, I dunno. A+ on the future sight border though
I always use white boarder basics. Quicker to find on search. Futuresite border biggest thing was mana value on the wrong side, needed to hold cards differently.
I'm ok with 'traditional' white border but not a fan of the 'new' white border. The layout just feels really off. But, as you said, one can grow into things they didn't like. If there's a hard to get card that ends up cheap due to people hating the border I'll plug my nose and take the savings.
i got into magic long after the future sight set and I always loved it. but as I've grown older ive learned it is a pretty exclusionary frame with any issues for those with disabilities and as well as lefties. as its built around fanning your cards in the opposite direction as lefties fan thier cards
I've always loved the future sight card style. I remember the pre-release and I snagged all the cards I could from friends who hated it. White border coming back? Not so much a fan. I have plenty of white border cards still and have no problem playing em but don't dig the new look personally.
Personally I don't care in the slightest what a card looks like except for the the secret lair cards that are difficult to read, that's not really because of the actual look at the cards. I'm a gamer. Card play is what really matters. I'll also say that it's kind of annoying when they print a thousand different copies of a card so it makes it difficult to recognize a card at a glance, but again that's more about game play than the actual look of the cards.
You're right that the future sight frames are way better than most of the recent alternates. Compared to those they're almost as good as normal frames, sad to say.
I have never disliked you more future frame 4 life! Joking aside I really do love that border. However I don't think they ever actually PLANNED on using it. I swear I remember reading that it was just an idea they threw out because future sight was of the POSSIBLE futures for magic and they made that frame to keep people guessing. Probably if people had really liked it they'd have used it more but eh this is the world we live in.
Love futuresight border and white border is just meh imo, BUT the fact these are con exclusive and a one time festival in a box drop, means most players will be priced out of these altogether. I know i cant afford a $200+ mystery box of mtg
I'm that guy that uses white boarders, just for the troll of it. Remember opening them in packs, and perfer them to an extent. But just like anything, it's personal choice, and I like the memories of how damn old I'm getting.
The old white border had a thin black outline - now they don't have it and the new one looks like shit in comparison (I don't mind the old ones) plus the tiny text on the bottom just looks like crap
I was super excited about this until I saw that it was only available at conventions and a secret lair. I guess us normal folks don’t get to crack boxes of the silly white-border future site cards.
Oh the future sight frame is ugly alright. Still to this day. But yes I'm sure those cards will be sought after because of exclusivity. Doesn't matter whether it's ugly, as long as you're the only one to have it. The nostalgia also plays a part I guess. Mixed feelings about this product. On the one hand, yet another low-effort money grab. On the other hand, kind of the kind actual collectors would expect.

@chrisgebben2043 I agree. I'd bet within a couple months we get retail boxes without the proto cards.
I have always liked the future sight frame. I had no idea that the community generally didn't care for it.
I was today years old when I learned that some people actually like it 😂
check out Rhystic Studies' video on card frames. it will cover it more in depth.
I like it...but it always makes me think of cards that really push the boundaries of what Magic can do. Feels a bit weird having it around a counterspell.
The future site frame would be fine if the damn mana cost was just in the upper right hand corner where it should be

This was my first thought. They should be gimmicky...Although it looks like they're framing some of the cards that have defined magic to begin with.
Same thoughts but maybe they could add more than six round mana slots when needed and just make the mana symbols smaller I guess.

I do not like the Future Sight frames. Find them difficult to read.
Man i love the white boarder, bring me more
Loving the white borders. I started during Unlimited, so it has lots of that nostalgia going for me.
the white borders are kinda weird but the colors do really pop with some of those borders and colors, be neat if a a bunch of snow cards got white borders I think that would be a fitting place for it.
I wonder if there are any with the future sight frame and white border XD
this is really cool, I'm super nostalgic for the white bordered cards

I always loved the Future Sight frames.
Future sight borders - YAY!
White border on new frame cards - YUCK!
On a side note, so glad I've stashed all the white border basics I've ever got my hands on.
I didn't get into magic till the theros block but I do like the future sight look. It might just be because it's different than what I'm used to

I would have liked the future sight frame if I played during the time. It reminds me of the winamp player so much.

They’re missing something to help separate the border from the color frame. The white border kenrith just looks like a misprint. So, I dunno.
A+ on the future sight border though
Many players use white boarder basic land cards to make searching easier
I always use white boarder basics. Quicker to find on search.
Futuresite border biggest thing was mana value on the wrong side, needed to hold cards differently.

I would like the white borders if I could get a whole mono white deck with white borders. That would be cool.
I maintain that the only issue with the future site frame is that the border on the left side of the art box needs to be on the right side instead.
Good point
Will hopefully have Dockside or Chrome Mox 😊
i got into magic long after the future sight set and I always loved it. but as I've grown older ive learned it is a pretty exclusionary frame with any issues for those with disabilities and as well as lefties. as its built around fanning your cards in the opposite direction as lefties fan thier cards

White border coming back? Not so much a fan. I have plenty of white border cards still and have no problem playing em but don't dig the new look personally.
The Command Tower being the Commander's Arsenal art makes me wonder if the price will drop and I should sell mine now
I'm stupid excited for my box to arrive

not recognizing cards at a glance is really starting to bother me.
I feel like you missed an opportunity to discuss the availability being only at Conventions? How do you feel about that??
i didn't discuss it cause i didn't know
@@edhdeckbuilding that's fair. Now that you do how do you feel about it?
@@27777BigRedBarn honestly i wish i could grab a box of these cause i would if i could.
@@edhdeckbuilding yeah me as well.
@@edhdeckbuilding they will be available online as part of their festival in a box, for how long I am not too sure.

I just want a copy of Oracle of the Alpha so that I can Rule 0 it into my Thassa Blink deck and use Battle of Wits as a win con.
Love futuresight border and white border is just meh imo, BUT the fact these are con exclusive and a one time festival in a box drop, means most players will be priced out of these altogether. I know i cant afford a $200+ mystery box of mtg
Forget white border. Make the border design and color based on the color(s) of the card.
I WANT ALL OF THESE 5 MINUTES AGO
I have a very strong opinion on whiteboarders. all blue cards look better with white borders. and only blue cards should get white boarders
I'm that guy that uses white boarders, just for the troll of it.
Remember opening them in packs, and perfer them to an extent.
But just like anything, it's personal choice, and I like the memories of how damn old I'm getting.
gimme a white-border foil wrath of god with the 7th Ed art
but then it would be black bordered.
The future sight frames are probably the worst ones they've ever made for their cards.
Futur sight frames are still terrible imo (even more now that arts aren't thought for this framing)
I don't care for the future sight frame. It just seems unnecessarily large and busy. And it cuts off the art.
Oh the future sight frame is ugly alright. Still to this day. But yes I'm sure those cards will be sought after because of exclusivity. Doesn't matter whether it's ugly, as long as you're the only one to have it. The nostalgia also plays a part I guess.

Wtf 😂 no way !
Future sight border is based and red pilled but the white border doesnt look good at all on post2015 modern borders
Not sure why people would go for these... but to each their own, it s a skip for me.
Of course a filthy, casual commander player would hate white-bordered cards. Go play Pokemon.
I hate white border cards since 1994. I am happy when wotc do stuff like it because I save money.
