hi sophie! a few of my birds toys got mouldy and i found some tiny bugs in the bottom of the basket/in some of the toys (i binned the toys with actual mould on them but i still wanted to clean the rest) so i washed them with vinegar and water then baked them in the oven. somehow i managed to leave them in there for too long and some of the toys/perches went brown. no ashes or anything they are just browned and burnt near the edges. none of them smell at all, would they be ok to give back to my bird?

    Hi Sophie 😊
I have a question about F10. When you've sprayed everything with F10, do you need to clean everything with water afterwards? Of course parrots use their toys and wipe their beaks on perches. So I was not certain if I could use F10 and leave it as it is.

    • @BirdNerdSophie

Hi Sophie, how often do you clean your cages like this, once a week? Im specifically curious about the easichick bedding, do you only have to change it once a week? Would it not be unhygenic for the bird to play in it during the week? I currently use newspaper as a cage lining, and I change it everyday, and use F10 to disinfect it everyweek, and I hate to imagine how much poop can accumulate in the bedding over the week. I have a Parrot. He was losing feathers constantly. I really was getting scared. I never had a Parrot😮. The owner was asking me to shelter him. I immediately agreed. Aaron (I named him) was mistreated by the first owners. It took us about 2 months to understand one another. He was biting me a lot. I had to teach him what biting can do. So, now, Aaron gets a treat from me when Aaron does good.
This is how I clean Aaron's Cage daily.
    1. I remove all perches, ladders, and toys that need cleaning.
    2. Next, I have a spray for bird Feathers. It's called "Ruffled Feathers Bird Bath!"
    3. I sprayed Aaron with it, and the following day, I saw Aaron go into his water dish, and took a bath. It was hilarious to watch.
    4. Soaking wet. Aaron got to feel better again.
    5. I try to bathe him by my Kitchen Sink, but it's not easy to hold him. So, I let Aaron Shower from his Water Dish.
    6. I wash Aaron's Cage with Ruffled Feathers Bird Bath.
    7. I first clean all debris from Cage, then I use as mentioned on the bottom of Cage. There's a tray underneath the Cage, I also clean this first with water, dry, then I put on a towel Ruffled Feathers Bird Bath. I wash it all around, and put back to Cage.
    8. I clean all mirrors with the towel to keep Aaron's Feathers looking healthy.
    9. It was less feather loss I noticed. Aaron feels much better too. He doesn't bite himself as before.
    10. Is this safe? I noticed a much happier Parrot since I use Ruffled Feathers Bird Bath to clean Aaron's Cage.
    Thank You!
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey I know this isn't related to the video but can we feed veggies 3 times or more every day to our birds? Along with seeds, pellets and sprouted legumes/seeds sometimes ? Question 2: my cocjatiel is 5 month old and not fully weaned yet! I stopped handfeed ingredients her with syringe few days ago because school gonna start soon and I won't have anyone handfeed her for me, so I need her weaned as soon as possible she refuses formula months ago , I wet healthy biscuits and put it in her food bowl so that it's solid food, she eats it, sometimes not enough, when she eats her, her crop get big, not that big tho, is this normal? Because I don't see 5 months old cockatiel crop getting bigger after they eat something, she still can't break seeds, sometimes she breaks them but most of the time she can't , she/he started mimcking me at 3 months old she doesn't look sick , she is very active, sings, whistles and says her name all day long, her bites are not sharp enough yet I saw somewhere saying that younger birds beaks are weaker, I see cockatiels bites are very painful and bleeds, but mine doesn't bite that sharp even tho she is reallly angry, is that the reason she can't break seeds?. **i wonder if she screams all day because she wants me to handfeed her? Months ago, when I used to handfeed her, she would be quiet if not she would scream, she doesn't scream as much she used to do before because she is eating biscuits on her own now, sometimes she eats all of it but sometimes not, as I said, she looks healty and is active.
