iv'e been trying for years and i"ve had the (1984) version with movie pics on the back for years i'm hoping listening to the audio book and reading along with it will help
I've always been morbidly curious about the non-Frank Herbert Dune books. Some people say to stay away with a 10 foot pole, others say they aren't bad. Maybe I'll give them a shot one day.
i own a few of the Dune books i really need to get off my ass to read them but i've heard they were shit but i've also heard some people say that liked some of them but the later ones were shit. or some just crack on their writing
I listened to this trilogy on audio. I admired the ambitious nature of the trilogy, but I was a little iffy on the character choices. It was written in a way that made it easy to listen to. Anyway, great review. Stay safe, everyone, and happy reading.
I enjoyed the prequels for the lore aspect. The Butlerian Jihad in particular. They are more straight forward sci fi and lack a lot of the deep themes from the original series. I am torn on the finales they wrote but Chapterhouse and Heretics were just odd to start with. But will start over at some point
no it doesn't Dune 3 hasn't even gotten a script yet i don't think he's gonna do another movie than do another Dune Movie and i think he's only doing 3 of them i think he said it's not gonna prolly come out til at least (2028) i think it was he said? your welcome to look up this up and correct me if i'm wrong i don't mind
@@dustinneely Dune was really popular when I was in middle school in the early 90s and then the miniseries came out when I was in college. I remember everybody (even non-scifi fans) talking about it.
@@dustinneelyi have the D-cut and it's like 265 minutes i was talking to someone a few months ago when i finally saw the remake that came out a couple years ago and they said that version is so far the most faithful and i believe it
@@rolandofgilead43 it is. I've seen all the cuts of David Lynch's Dune, the 2 Villeneuve films, and the miniseries. The miniseries is the closest straight adaptation of the book.
Based on your approval of BH & KJA I did something I may regret? I just ordered Hunters of Dune & Sandworms of Dune. I'm going to give them a chance. I am erasing what others have said about them and approaching them as unbiased as possible. I know they aren't going to be Frank Herbert level.
I think I read that Brian Hebert is Frank Herbert son, the plb I have got with prequels does that mean prequals should be read first or after the main series?, like This video said before certain people sand storms etc so to get a grip of the Dune world dosent that mean there meant to be read first like for example a day of fallen night is a prequal can takes before the event before the Prior around the orange tree and yet some people reading the reviews of the story A Day of fallen night could be read after Prior around the orange tree, that is what is confussing.
Brian and Kevin just write in a way that really captures my attention. I wish more people liked their books.
Brian Herbert books are great in case you run out of toilet paper and don't want to make an emergency run to the store.
So kinda like my 4 year art degree
Yes! The #1 television show of all time in the history of the universe
Maybe, it's just me, but I can't get through Frank Herbert's Original DUNE.
Great Review 😀

People I respect are dissing this series but I really loved it.
They are dissing only the Brian Herbert books

Do you have any promo codes to give out?
I luv these books
Was this trilogy meant to coincide with the miniseries on SciFi? I remember that being a big hit.
Both of the SciFi miniseries are good.

No you need the Original Series to give you the context that the Prequels will move towards.
u r an universe of info about novels and books...please review Wilbur Smith's co-authored books.
This trilogy isn't bad. The Lengends of Dune, trilogy however I did not like.
I'm a Frank Herbert purist. To Brian Herbert & KJA "May your knife chip & shatter". BTW the new movie is 💩.
You are correct. I hated the new movie.
