Lets be honest the reason why Sam was in the bath for half of the game was because the developers would know she’d figure everything out sooner and josh would also be still alive
I think it's because they wanted to have less moments where she could die since she's the played by the most famous actress in the group

@@oaktree2429 well to be fair. Mike has a lot of screen time and isn’t able to die until the final sequence
Looks to me as they made Sam and Mike the main protagonists , even if you fail all of their QTEs, they wont be able to die until the final scene in the game. Also have to consider its either one of them that kill the Wendigos, either Mike by sacrifice or Sam by keeping her alive long enough for everyone to get out the house before she hits the light switch .
I think they’re actually from California, since Emily casually mentions Rodeo Drive.

Fun fact: If you want to save Matt WITHOUT doing him dirty by abandoning Emily, you can choose for him to doubt/disagree about heading to the radio tower. This means that when you choose to have Emily hand the flare gun to Matt, he won't expend the flare firing into the sky, and he can use the flare gun to shoot the Hannah wendigo before she can impale him on a hook.
You can also just completely ignore the arm in the Sanatorium and keep both your fingers and the Machete.

Man Jessica was one hell of a tank for surviving a lot. Fell off god-knows how feet into the mines, with most likely shattered bones and wounds
I accidentally killed Jess the first time I played this game and I was devastated. I am not good at quick events so when I was playing as Mike trying to chase her. I didn’t realize how many times I missed the quick events and that can actually kill her. I had to start over, second time I played it I got every character to survive! This game is difficult with trying to keep everyone alive. Especially with the no moving and keeping your controller steady.

Hannah still retains a degree of humanity in her even though she’s a Wendigo like for example she’s been stalking Mike she could have an opportunity to kill him but didn’t probably it’s due to the fact she still has feelings for him.
I agree, that makes sense to me.
She also arguably saves Sam in the end by grabbing the Windego chasing her instead of going for Sam directly. In theory she also 'saves' Josh by taking him down to the mines to become a Wendigo.

The most unbelieveable thing in this game is that none of the character in this definitely -20 c environment die from hypothermia after being drenched XD other than that great job surviving dude
That’s true but when you have adrenaline running through you in stressful situations and you’re running like they did, you’re body heats up and doesn’t even register the cold.
Not to mention Ashley was wearing shorts and what looked like nylon stockings. And Sam was wearing a skirt😂
Well. Depends on if they all are from the North. Northerners can handle quite a lot when it comes to the cold (this coming from one myself). Adrenaline could also be a major factor.
-20° is nothing to Canadians and Russians (in Russia most cities have temperature between -17 and -22 during winter- southern part are warmer tho)

That's the goofiest section imo. I get they had to make you walk around to be able to find the totem, but it could've just been that one area where the totem was where you have to walk and then the game goes back to him automatically running.

For once, I'm glad to see the playthrough in which Mike doesn't lose fingers.
You can also just completely ignore the trap and not interact with it. That way Mike has his fingers and a usable machete. Same way how you can investigate the voice as Ashley (and Chris if left behind) and still survive as long as you don't interact with the trapdoor and just walk past it and reunite with the group.
this was like a very long movie..10/10!
this is the only video where the player doesn't cut off the character's fingers, very good...
I for one believe fingers are very useful so I try my best to keep them all.

@@poedameron8057 Either or it doesn’t matter if you agree to go to the fire tower with Em then he shoots it. As soon as Em gives it to him it’s gone. I believe you have to disagree with her and then when you go to the tower anyways then Matt keeps it. If you choose to save Em twice then Matt dies. If you choose to save yourself Em still lives so honestly the flare gun isn’t too useful, unless you really want to save Em. Which most people don’t.
@@poedameron8057 The funny thing is that totem shows up only after you decide whether to agree or disagree to go to the fire tower. If you agree, then the totem becomes the opposite of guidance, cuz if you give the flare gun to Matt it won't be of use to neither Matt nor Emily. But tbf, it was of no use here either even though Emily kept it. I've never seen anyone keep the flare gun with Emily and then not save her with it from being bitten by the wendigo. Apparently if you choose to stay on and fail the first qte when she jumps the meat grinder, she won't have time to try to shoot the wendigo with the flare gun (and maybe if you lose time making other mistakes too)
I feel like you can relate to Sam a lot throughout the game, so if someone kills her in a play through I hate it, she's so cool

i literally rewatch this game every winter, it is such a nostalgic vibe…
Is no one gonna talk about how Chris NEVER loses his glasses ONCE in the whole game, or that he never stops once to clean them.
I get it's a Video game but still, come on that's not realistic, I have glasses and I always lose them or have to stop and clean them, at some point during the day
You know that is a great point, especially with this being a horror game. A person losing their glasses is a classic horror trope, sometimes a movie will go POV and show stuff blurry as a result to heighten the tension for instance.
Kind of a missed opportunity here and as you point out a bit unrealistic given the circumstances.

@@GamingwithDweavis Yeah, while fighting against the Wendigo, would have been the PERFECT time, for him to lose them, it would really add to the badassness of Chris, as he would literally be fighting blind, and to give tension to the player, and make that segment, more challenging.

Hello everyone, I hate to self-promote like this but due to copyright hits this new video has taken it likely won't get the circulation it deserves.

Basically if you look at the totems characters understand that they’re in danger or they know their fortune so if they look at the totem they know their future so they survive so if you want everyone to live you got a look at totems
I really found Ashley’s voice so annoying,like she cried every 5second and Ashley was ready to sacrifice anyone and she was hella selfish if she had that gun at the saw trap she woulda shot Chris and she was ready to turn on Emily and she was hella fake

I killed her in the beginning by accident 😂 I suck at doing quick events when I first played this game. I managed to mess up on almost all of them. I didn’t realize it ended up killing her lol. I played through it again and managed to save all the characters! The ending holy shit I was holding my breath it’s so NERVE-WRACKING

Chris and Sam are like the only morally good people here. Josh and Beth are honourable mentions though ~

I know the idea is that she's the nice one but really if she was the nice one, considering she's down as Hannah / Beth (I don't remember which)'s best friend, wouldn't she have left the room to warn poor Hannah? No, she's just as bad as the rest of them.
I do agree with you on Chris, now that I think about it, was he involved in the prank at the beginning because if he was that no, he's scum as well. Matt can be a pretty decent guy if you pick the right options... and get him away from Emily.
@@kitsu1379 I think you should go back and watch the game developers q&a video, they confirmed sam and Chris were the only people not related to Hannah who had nothing to do with the prank. Sam knew about it and disapproved but was unable to warn Hannah in time.
Based off your answer, you haven’t played the game. There’s a section in the prologue where Sam spends several minutes looking for Hannah but can’t find her in time to warn her.
@@randomyoutuber0524 Do they not have phones? Also a Q&A about what the developers want does not always line up with what is shown in the game. The game shows Sam saying not to do it then just letting it happen anyway. Here's what Sam could have done, smacked Emily and Jess, or kick Mike in the nuts or you know, waited outside the door to stop Hannah going in. Any of these things would have been better and shown Sam as the character they want her to be, Sam giving a half assed effort to look doesn't absolve of her the fact that she let the "prank" go on.
So yeah, gunna stick to thinking Sam, while not as bad as Em and Jess, is still up there because that's how she comes across to me.

I know it’s supposed to be a serious moment at all but what exactly is she’s giving a huge grin At 3:48:20 it’s like the character and the actress herself was having a hard time keeping a straight face during that part. I find it funny and in poor taste.
It amazes me that no matter how many times a weapon with a manual action is fired, it never needs to be reset. Just... why? All this work put into realistic animations, and the very basics of using a firearm are overlooked? Takes me right out of it.

I couldn't either, did lots of research before I put this playthrough together.
Alittle late to the party but Just got done with video and man oh man do I miss this game. I remember I was in junior year of high school watching a play through of this, on the edge of my fucking seat. The wendigo reveal was absolutely nuts. Definitely wasn’t expecting that. The characters are all top tier and the casting I think was perfect. My favorite being Ashley. The devs really took their time making this masterpiece. Game was truly revolutionary. I liked how the end credits gave us a lil tidbit of post gameplay but I kinda would have liked just a little more XD. Like are Ashley and Chris in a relationship? Did Matt and Emily break up? Same with Mike and Jess? Are they still friends to this day? How did the Washington’s deal with losing not only their daughters but now their son? Would be nice knowing those answers but alas we leave it to imagination. Great job with the play through!

If they hadn't pulled the prank on Hannah none of them would go through this situation. That's some butterfly effect
@@immydubby5789 not exactly. Jessica would still get snatched by the wendigo. And Mike would still go through the first sanitarium sequence. But that is the only thing that would stay the same. Those two stay the same because the fight between Jessica and Emily would still happen and Josh would still send Mike and Jess to the guest cabin.

There is no way to save the Stranger. He dies no matter what you do. The "Everyone Lives" title refers to the characters you control after the prologue.

Mike is so lucky, he grabbed that double barrel from the set of NCIS. He managed to shoot 3 shots out of it. I should’ve waited! He fires even more out of it somehow!!
Edit 3: he fired 13 shots with no on camera reload. Additionally nobody checks to see if guns are loaded but they magically are and work perfectly despite being neglected in the cold. More than a little frustrating
Watched this a year after your comment, and came searching for this exact comment. Out of all the unrealistic stuff, this was by far the most annoying thing that I spent a good 30 minutes complaining to myself about. Not to mention the dog somehow magically already being in the rooms with Mike.

I love this game so much but when I played I didn't save Jess and she's my favorite character in the game! So I wanted to see what happenen if she lived but now that I watched this and saw what would happen if she lived I totally regret it! So as soon as I was done with this video I restarted the game! And did the the exact opposite choices😂😂 so yes this time I saved her and im so happy now😁
I did the same thing! The first play through when you play as Mike if you mess up too many quick events she dies. I had no idea because every play through i’ve seen can actually do quick events.

My first time through I had Ashley, Sam and Jessica die. The worst for me was Sam who I felt the biggest connection to and totally robbed by losing her at the very end.
Lost Ashley and Jessica because I made stupid decisions though so those were legit my fault.
Tbh only Sam and Chris truly deserve to live because they weren't even part of the prank on Hannah. Heck, Sam was against it. But I guess everyone deserves their life

@@miabumbina744 this is confirmed to be false :) Chris and Sam were the only ones that had nothing to do with the prank apart from Hannah’s siblings, Beth & Josh
Fun fact: Sam is the only character who can never encounter a wendigo alone. She never sees a wendigo until the very end of Chapter 9 when she saves Mike, and doesn't see another one until the last scene of the game in the lodge, alongside Mike and possibly up to 3 more people. I guess you could say she's alone with the wendigos after the very last "don't move" segment when she's running for the switch and blown out the cabin; but if you fail it and Sam gets killed, Mike will be shown to still be at the door and he flips the switch instead.

I watch this like every month, and I always think that yes it was harsh on Hannah but also she DID try and hook up with her friend's boyfriend in the middle of the night while her friend was IN THE SAME HOUSE which isn't necessarily what most friends would do, I'm all for polygamy and free love but maybe ask first.

So, about that scene. The main thing I remember (and this was 3 years ago now) was how little I was paying attention to what was on screen and more on keeping my hands still.
The reason for this is that the "move" mechanics of the game are extremely cheap as you have to remain like a darn statue in order for it work and for the length of time it lasted makes it near impossible. I believe my first playthrough (which is also on my channel) I didn't succeed and Sam died for the very reason I just laid out.
On this second playthrough I adapted by pre-emptively placing the controller down just before the moment happened which allowed me to succeed every time. My hands are just too wobbly for me to ever have completed this legit.
To your question, I was feeling fairly at ease as I sat there and watched the scene playout as my controller rested on my desk.

Tho I would find it hilarious if some used the trick on the ending bit and forgot their controller was set to vibration and it was a [To be continued...] moment
However I'm saying this as a person who has never played Until Dawn (horror games/movies never work for me ;-;) so idk if there actually is controller vibrations in this game

I don't remember if there was a rumble but I think there couldn't be otherwise it would mess you up even if you were holding the controller as intended.

Pretty sure this is happening in Canada (Where many Wendigo stories originate). I don't think the Winchesters go that far north. It's a shame, though. They would've gotten everyone out, including The Stranger, and Dean probably would've banged Emily before they hit the road again.
And Sam would probably have gotten slightly flirty with..... Sam. Leading to Dean making copious self-cest jokes.

Her character is annoying, but she has one of the best drives to survive in the whole game.
Ya I agree I personally love Em. Only because she has the best survival instincts. She is a badass which is why I kept her alive. Also because when you choose to shoot her I know that a Wendigos bite isn’t infectious. So I knew that killing her would be wrong.

Exactly, I always felt something strange while listening to it. I'm not a musical expert or something so I can't say for sure if it's bad singing, but I definitely didn't like it.

No expert either, but I do sing a lot and study music. It was off pitch and the tone was too hard. They were singing super loud for a song like that. That and the vibes it gives off are just not it.

I actually have no idea because she doesn’t use it in the game. If she gave it to Matt though he would immediately set it off. If you disagree to go to the tower though and she gives it to Matt, then he keeps it if you mess up by saving Em twice.
