Reasons I like the retheme:
1. It's Princess and the Frog, I adore that movie and all the characters.
2. The animatronics are FABULOUS
3. A mix of songs we know and love from the movie AND a Disney Park original song.
Reasons I dislike the retheme:
1. I will forever be nostalgic towards Splash Mountain, it was in my top 3 favorites.
2. The amount of dead space in section one of the ride.
3. Where the heck is Naveen??? one animatronic at the end, that's it? :(
4. The story is a bit silly in my opinion, it's simple, too simple.
5. Bad setup for the drop anticipation. No thrill!
6. Also, why did we get turned into frogs?? and why so much Mama Odie??
7. A retelling of the movie would have made made this retheme a HUGE hit! :
A. Dr. Facilier is a great villain with arguably one of the best Disney villain songs.
B. Seeing Ray and his love for Evangeline in the ride would have been SO cute! RIP..
Unfortunately, the good does not outweigh the bad... This ride does not feel like it will go down as a beloved ride in Disney Parks history..
They should scrap a bunch and start fresh... Tweak the current story and add more to the first portion of the ride, or another complete overhaul to the movies story line lol.

Good analysis and points. Ultimately this IP was shoehorned in here and i think not have Dr. Facillier as part of it is a mistake as well
