Reminds me of a job I had to do on a Harley head. The head gasket blew and burnt some of the head away, I guess Harleys are so noisy that the rider didn't notice the extra.😅 To keep what threads were left I made up a plate to match and aligned the threads in it, so once the welder had done his job I could drill the weld and run a tap done through the plate to meet the remaining thread in the head and not have to timesert it, which I didn't have anyway. Ok I was trying to impress the guys I was doing the job for and it worked as I got the reputation of being a wizard😂
This was an interesting challenge. Great job drilling the bolt in the centre

Excellent.
I'm guessing this is cheaper than just buying a new one?
Don't think you could get a new one on its own.
