Good to know. Thanks. I usually let it sit a little longer but due to video editing I didn’t wait that long but will make note of that. Thanks for commenting so others can see your comment :)
Thank you so much for this video!! We just got the PH and Conductivity Pen just to get so confused with all the instruction. Your video simplified the process so well and easy, we were able to clearly calibrate everything in no time.
Thank you for your time. I bought mine at my local supply store for $79.00. I was thinking I could probably get it less online but it’s important to support local.
many bad reviews,,1.0 out of 5 stars Won’t calibrate Reviewed in the United States on September 23, 2024 Style: PH PenVerified Purchase Just received this pen today. Turned it on and tried to calibrate it and it’s stuck on 7.0 even after calibrating/ trying the 4.0 solution/ turning on and off. I’ve used blue lab for years (10+) so I’m familiar with them and how they work. The one I’m using now is a little over a year old. I feel like it may be off some, so I ordered this new one to check and see. Gonna try again. Reached out and have a replacement on the way. Fingers crossed. One person found this helpful
I’m so sorry you had issues. Blue lab seems to be a good company. Hopefully they can assist you. I have e had mine many years now, since this video, and it’s held up great. Hope it all works out for you. Thanks for letting me know. ❤️
I have had many “cheapies” and they were always incorrect. Had to be calibrated all the time. Batteries didn’t lasted. Numbers would flag and jump all over giving me bad readings. You may use a cheap one but May end up buying 10. I still love my better quality one :)
You can only use the ph cal solution once? But the hydrating solution can be used over and over again? Wow this pen was expensive enough and it looks like it's going to be even more expensive for this maintenance 🤦🏾♂️.
I have used the solution more then once. Saved it in glass jars and never had an issue. Replacing solution is cheaper then buying 10 cheap pens. I still love the thing :)
@@HomesteadingWithAngie Thank you so much for the quick reply, it is greatly appreciated! I hope this pen works out for me! I should ask how many times do you re-use the ph cal solutions before replacing?
@sevenn7pure I don’t know if I should admit but still have the same solution. :) Only calibrated twice. It’s been in a sealed glass jar. Next time I’ll probably get new but the length of time between calibration is amazingly long. Good luck you will love it!
I would try changing the batteries. I personally am not a fan of that kind and that's why I moved away from them. If it's PH that you are testing use those strips instead. If you want an accurate EC reader I would look at one that has other measurements of readings then what comes with that one so you don't have to calculate the numbers yourself. Hope that helps.
It’s on long enough to get a reading when actually using it. Calibrating takes some time so yes goes off before that’s done but you never should have to hold it on water that long for a reading :)
@@HomesteadingWithAngie your right, but unfortunately it takes a moment to get acclimated to temp of water and as the meter ages longer to get the bottom line ph reading. Thanks love the vids❤
Talk about money hungry - Blue Lab justifies NO lids because solutions are intended single use and lids would encourage us to use solutions maybe one or two more times? Really? You'd have to really try hard to contaminate calibration solution. Just sayin... My take is to reuse at least once or even twice.
I have used them over and over again. I bought little glass jars that I store them in. Works great and they have been fine. Im sure they may lose potency over time but yes I have been using them more then once for sure.
Yeah I just got one and am soaking it currently in the rehydration solution. I was wondering the same thing about the ph cal solution. Can it be used more than once because i got the cal kit and have 3 of each 7.0 and 4.0 but that only takes me out 3 months 😔. I'm thinking this could get expensive on top of the expensive price I paid for the pen itself. So I would be worried immediately about the fact that you have to rinse the probe in water after removing from the hydrating solution and between each cal. The water will both dilute and raise the ph of the cal solutions (unless you have really really acidic water in which case it will lower the ph of the solutions) I don't know that you can shake off enough water to avoid this but......... Also I believe light changes the ph solutions over time (including ph up/down) and should be stored in the dark. That's what I do anyways but if this is incorrect please let me know. Thanks in advance
Interested in the Blue Lab Truncheon EC/PPM Meter? Then check out this video review ruclips.net/video/Kf5io8xDFgg/видео.html
When you dip your meter in the buffer solution you should let it settle for 60 seconds with no change before calibration.

Ph is worth getting quality. EC/PPM is a simple test that you will do just fine with a cheapy

@@HomesteadingWithAngie Thank you so much, I won't tell anyone 😂🤣
Do you think calibrating every 3 months is fine? Or what would you say?
The pen that came with my iharvest is reading way wrong after only a month. Is there anything I can do ?

Mine lasted 13 months and then died total waste of money. Now I use cheap Amazon ones for 6 months and toss. Way cheaper.
Mine are still working amazing. I wonder if you contacted the brand if they would have backed it. They make them to last a LONG time. Sorry to hear! 🥲
The real pain in the ass part begins at the 7:25 mark. Great
This is the easiest PH tester I have used for calibrating. One reason I love it
Your title says "Blue Lap"
Wow how are you the first to notice. Thank you!
