Should have stuck with my preseason playoff prediction and kept Rhode Island making the final 😂

Well, looks like you got your pick! Fair enough - I think we could and should have done better, given the way we've played of late, but Jacquesson wasn't really on, Etou was being a bit reckless, and credit to the Charleston defense for not conceding to us despite having done so twice on the 12th. Hoping the Kizza deal gets extended and we can bring back a lot of what we had going at the end here.
(I'll take a little solace in getting the Orange County pick, but it doesn't take the sting out of losing my actual team...)

Ya buddy, I watched the entire match (Pittsburgh v Charleston), and I thought about our conversation and I was bummed for you. Good call on OC, they blew up my bracket but as a SoCal native (and someone who was born in OC) I have a soft spot for them. Still would have liked to see Memphis go on a run for my own ego's sake, but that's an upset I can live with. So far I have picked every other match correctly (shockingly lmao), lets see if Detroit can survive extra time here, I think Tampa might take them to pens and then it's a crapshoot haha.

DISCLAIMER: I appreciate all the work that goes into this, and you clearly know the craziness of the league. It takes a lot to be willing to put predictions out for a league that's incredibly unpredictable, and where inevitably you know things will be wrong because of that. Having said that:
Yeah it's not like the Riverhounds just beat Charleston 2 1/2 weeks ago or anything...
9-6-2 in the second half of the season, 33 points (and honestly, the run is 9-6-1, just had to add the game before that so it was exactly half). Double that out for a full season's pace and we'd be on 66 points, second in the whole league only to Louisville. AKA, better than Charleston. It's not just one game, it's not even just the final 4 game stretch where we went 4-0, scored 10, conceded 0. It's been a whole half a season. The current construction of the roster is a 2nd place team, by the stats.
I do admittedly feel bad for Charleston, they deserve an easier matchup given their body of work over the whole season, but I'd genuinely give us about a 75% chance of winning that game. Hottest team heading into the playoffs, and momentum is definitely a thing this time of season. You recognized the importance of momentum in the opposite direction with Indy, and I think your assessment of them is spot on, so it's interesting that it's so downplayed when it's in the positive direction.
(Also going to be a bit bold here myself and take another upset that doesn't involve my own team, for much the same reason: Orange County hasn't lost since August. I could see them picking off that Memphis team.)

I'll go ahead and make a quick off the cuff prediction here in the comments, knowing full well some of this will also end up wrong:
      NM>Phoenix
      Vegas>Sac
      OC>Memphis
      Colorado>Oakland
      NM>Vegas
      Colorado>OC
      NM>Colorado
      Louisville>NC
      RI>Indy
      Detroit>Tampa
      Pittsburgh>Charleston
      Louisville>RI
      Pittsburgh>Detroit (revenge for last season!)
      Louisville>Pittsburgh
Louisville>NM to win the whole thing

I considered taking OC on a run, but I went and watched them play this season in person and they were absolutely horrendous, shockingly bad. With San Diego Loyal gone, I have watched a good amount of OC games this season, and they certainly have righted the ship some, but that game I saw in person, wow, all my faith was lost 🤣. Thank you so much for watching, and I appreciate a well thought out response. The truth is, I want to be right about Pittsburgh losing so bad I had to choose against them lmao. I have zero disdain for Pittsburgh, fantastic club, I'm just trying to be right haha! I like your picks, it could certainly play out that way! What you said about making picks publicly is so true, its hard to do and the reality is you most likely are always going to look foolish, especially if you try to make some edgier picks. I appreciate you watching and giving constructive comments more than you know haha

@@TLFootballContent that's fair, so it's more a doubling down on your regular season pick than actually thinking we'll lose. Honestly, if I'm the Vegas bookmakers putting a line on that game, I'd actually put us as favorites slightly, just because our second half has been that good.
As for the other bit, I admittedly haven't seen OC play (haven't really had any travel out west at all) so it's entirely possible they don't do anything. Especially since they got Memphis, and that's also a team that ended well.

As a city fan Rhode Island was the team I didn't want to see. Both games against them where some our toughest games.
