Young players tend to just keep going regardless of how their body feels. I wore down my Achilles this way and had to finally take a break at 19 to heal up. We can pretend to not be hurt as our energy or excitement to play just keeps us wanting to play.
Gotta love Medical staff/people in general. 99% of us react like the first few players who saw it and run in the other direction- nurses, medics etc are straight in there and at least trying to calm them and speak with them

Fractured fibula and ankle dislocation. 2 months after the surgery and a shit ton of PT, I could finally walk again without crutches. Was able to run again after 3 months. Odds are, he can return by February but might have to play reduced minutes to manage the stiffness and pain.
