Its been 8 years but the feeling still hits like truck everytime i go back to watch this movie. I simply don't understand why but whenever i go back to rewatch it, i have a little corner of my heart wanting for them to confess to each other even though i know the full plot. The movie's message is surely not romance but it only is an element of it and this is why this movie changed me completely back in 2019. Like i was literally not an anime guy and always avoided watching one. And what's funny is that how i was able to watch this movie. My friend who was into anime invited me to their house for some get together and he decided to watch this with me. I avoided at first saying i don't like animes bruh but he forced me to watch just 10 mins then decide if i want to continue or not. God knows what went inside me and I was in tears while he was enjoying seeing me cry. I was so shaken to my core that i went back to my home an watch it again at night with complete silence. Man that movie slapped me like a hundred times not because i have ever experienced anything like that in real life but the emotions and hope it gave me, i simply can't help but to think what have i been doing with my life this whole time. This movie was an opening for me into the world of animes. Soon i watched Your Name, Weathering with you, I want to eat your pancreas, your lie in April, the girl who leapt through time, maquia and many more and trust me all these are masterpieces on their own and shred my tears like a bucket. But what A Silent Voice has done to me is simply magical and i may not be able to describe it in any form of communication. 😊

No, this is the best romantic anime ever.
1:13 a 1:26 The moment the spell turns against the sorcerer himself.
It was at that moment that Ishida realized the harm he caused Shouko, after mistreating her, pulling out her hearing aids, which are very expensive, until reaching a point where her right ear started to bleed.
Ishida takes time to realize his mistakes, and try to repair them after many years.
The pain he caused Shouko had no forgiveness, she didn't do anything wrong and even so, Ishida mistreated her and committed Bullying with her, along with other students.
This messed with Shouko's psyche even more, until she reached the tense scene, where she really thought that she only brought problems, and that it would be better if she disappeared.
In the conversation she has with Ishida, towards the end of the film, she says: ''You fell because I wasn't able to change, everything would have been better if I disappeared.''
I confess I couldn't hold back the tears at that time.
but in the end, everything is resolved and everyone is fine and becomes friends.
Ishida discovers that he can now look into people's faces, when the X's fall from the faces of his friends and schoolmates, and that cry of his, in my opinion, was a release of his feelings, as he always looked down.
I couldn't look directly into people's faces.
And if there's one thing I can't stand, it's prejudice, I'm disgusted with people like that.
I suffered a lot of prejudice because of my illness, from then on, I started to be cold with people, almost not showing feelings like pity, and I am very spiteful.
If someone humiliates me, or betrays me, it doesn't matter the reason, I never forgive the person, no matter who they are.
If she looks at me, I just don't look at her and turn away.
After all, fake friendships are things that exist a lot in the world.
I've been there, and I don't trust anyone else.
Shouko is my favorite character in the movie and she manages to overcome the pain she felt.
This movie is amazing, holds you from start to finish.
Many compare this film to Your Name, and as both have similar themes, they are good films.
But since I've never watched Your Name, I can't comment on this movie.
I don't regret seeing Koe no katachi.
This will be one of my favorite anime movies, and one that will always make me cry no matter how many times I watch it.
