I remember I had an "analogue" microscope as a kid with glass slides, and loved finding things to view. Would have been amazing if I could save photos back then. Looks like an awesome kit 👍

The ability to detach the head and get a better view make this perfect Lab instrument for Beaver inspections.
Pretty poor review to only leave it at one zoom setting. There is a knob on the stand that winds the head up and down, changing the image size and resultant zoom. Plus there is 400x digital zoom as well.

A pity you didn’t show how to set the magnification modes. Can you even see what magnification you’re using? Beaverlab claims this microscope can magnify 1600 times. Looking at the images in your video this is certainly not the case….

      400x optical. 1600x digital.

There is a number of zoom adjustments that he didn't bother to test. There is a 400x optical zoom dial down on the end of the "neck", near the lens. You can move the whole thing up and down 40mm by rotating the knob on the base. That adjusts the overall size of the image area, higher means "zooming out". After each adjustment, you need to refocus again. Also there is up to 400x digital zoom as well, by pressing the "Zoom" button behind the screen.
