I am an actor and content creator with Hollywood credits including roles on Lucifer (Netflix), Starlight Christmas (Hallmark), JT Leroy (Universal Studios), etc. In this channel, I offer insight to Kpop performances using my 10+ years of training in dance, acting, singing and overall performance. In dance, my forte are contemporary and musicals and have done most of my performances in theatre. Although my channel is mostly known for dance analysis, I am currently inactive in the dance community.

He didn’t forget the choreo, if you watch it a few times you see that it’s the same choreo for the first and the third chorus only the second one is different. Nana forgot which chorus they were on.

Fun fact SHINee were the group to popularise the standard of kpop groups even doing dance practices for their songs. I believe they were the first to do one and in typical SHINee fashion it caught on like wildfire.
I think that they popularize the standard of dance that we are used to seeing in kpop today. Technique, Synchronization etc. they started it and they don't get enough credit for it if any at all. I think instead of being labelled 'princes of kpop' they should also be given the title of king along with the likes of TVXQ, Super Junior, Big Bang and EXO.

@@koolkid9836 SHINee started the whole intricated dance movement, also unusual chord progression in sonfs and make idols first and foremost performers and artists not just celebrities that can perform here and there too, they amped the kpop game for real. I remember when Lucifer was released a lot of routines were changed and a lot of groups had trouble releasing singles and practice videos.(which they also started)

What you said about Jeno having an aura about his stage presence is how I feel watching Haechan, but it shows way more with him in 127, and I think it's because he's more of a vocal focus in dream, where they have Taeil and Doyoung as main vocals in 127. Every time he is dancing though, he steals my focus because of the way he looks like he just breathes dance, it looks effortless and his personality comes through in his footwork especially. Bouncing and gliding everywhere lol

Quiet down is such a good song😭and yes Jeno owns the stage his presence is mindblowing since boom he gained a lot of confidence and I think he’s more comfortable with himself now...it makes me very happy

It's just that Quiet Down is just a side track of the album. Sometimes, choreography of sidetracks are not that "hyped" or tight so it's not really a big deal.
This is just my opinion, as I've seen in many kpop groups that I've stan for years.
I thought their performance lacked because they were tired. Especially Haechan who was doing too much at the time.

Even though it is just a bsides but the choreo still as intense as Boom or even more than it because they always perform Stronger during Boom promotions time, unlike Quiet Down that only being performed on the first week. I think that's makes sense why Quiet Down choreo kinda toned down and not as intense
I don't know. 123 was a B side and that's one of my favorite choreos and they perform it with a lot of energy. Stronger had good choreography too.

5:28 jenos stage presence is no joke, honestly though he knows how to make peoples eyes focus on him no matter where he is, and I’ve always noticed how he adjusts to every concept accordingly while still keeping his own style and emphasis on the dance he’s one of SM’s versatile characters and to think we haven’t seen his full potential yeT this boy is going to be a legend, his dancing was what made me notice him and ever since then he’s been my ultimate bias in all of kpop.. never regret jenos such a talented performer and artist I’m proud you emphasized on his dancing as it’s always been underrated

You'll see it in a lot of their dance practices, Jisung has a habit of holding his own hands and pulling his sleeves XD
jisung's actually a very "clean" dancer, he has his shortcomings (the most noticeable to me is that he tends no not raise his knees/feet as high as other members, but since he's taller it doesn't matter that much), but not finishing moves is not a current thing for him, but it can happen, boy's not a machine after all. I think his stronger trait is his musicality, Jisung has a great sense (Mark once called him a "beat monster") and his preferred style, popping, benefits greatly from this. if you have time, check out the dance practices for their award show performances, there are 3 in NCT's Dance Channel (the 3 videos between boom dance practice and taeyong's freestyle dance). Jisung has solo pieces in two of the intro stages, and the choreos showcases their strengths a lot, especially jisung's popping and renjun's isolation
No, I'm kind of glad that he is pointing out Jisung's errors. Because as much as we praise them, it is also good to always allow room for improvement.

jisung's move that you've seen before was haechan's part in regular english version the casket fresh part(after the 1st verse of chorus), i thought the same thing tho
the quiet down choreo actually incorporated a lot of dream and 127's past moves. i think there are side-by-side videos either on yt or twitter

@@sophiam.krager3815 the choreo is actually more like tribute to all previously released NCT songs, there are moves from Dream's, 127's and I think I even saw couple WayV's moves. With some new moves too, ofc.
it's in both 127's versions tho, choreo isn't different for them, it's only different between units (not very much but still)

As a dancer I do think Jisung is indeed the best out of them all... he has such a great control of his body and know where to start and how far to go. that gives him such an aura

Thanks for another reaction Jeff! About quiet down, as a b-side it really don't have so much emphasys on coreo and and then boys are more capable of showing their vocals, as they do. I do recommend the not fancam version because the audio is pretty much better.

YASSS I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS EVER SINCE THE PRACTICE VIDEO WAS OUT 😍!!! Btw I agree with you about Jeno not because his my bias and all hehe but how he swallows the whole stage that is very true well for me because when i saw the Dreamies live here in Manila, his stage presence is soooo different live and he really swallows the whole stage, Jeno’s stage presence is so strong that he really gives you that kind of feeling. Jeno is an underrated dancer and rapper and i’m so happy that he is shining more now and the rest of the dreamies 🥺. I hope you can see any NCT concerts soon, you will enjoy at their concerts!! Also they usually do dance practices after.
Fun fact: my cousin stayed with me in Toronto when he watched NCT and I didn’t stan them before. He was like you should come, and I’m like no thanks. I REGRET

yes!!! Jisung slayed "THAT" part. I've seen other kpop idols cover 'Ridin' and Im sorry to say this but they dont look as satisfying as Jisung when he does it.
I agree! Jeno's stage presence is no jooke. He always just gives this powerful feeling and totally owning the stage. That's why his duality is also amazing. You can't believe this man is the endless eye-smile guy whenever he's on stage 💚
They usually fim dance practices after the comeback. You can tell their dancing is much better here than in the music video, and when they filmed a reaction to the mv they said something along the lines of "it looks good, but we dance even better now".
Also, it's one of the reasons why Red Velvet never got to film an official dance practice for Psycho, only the performance version. They were supposed to film it right after all the year end shows and that's when Wendy suffered those face and pelvis injuries.

14:35 their mics are still louder than the MR unlike usual performances, so they have to be careful with their breath and organize it especially for vocals Chenle,Renjun and Haechan.
Renjun's ballet roots really shine here for me. You can tell he has a good understanding of how to use his body lines to make shape and take up space (especially since he's a little smaller lol!), he's such an underrated dancer tbh

You just stated facts about Jeno's style of dancing and stage presence. I totally agree with everything you say haha. I also felt like NCT Dream's dancing line have their own styles that you can notice like Jeno is more powerful and sharp; Jisung is detailed and clean; Jaemin is smooth and fluid. That's why there are parts of the choreos where one owned/killed it.

What I really like about nct dream is that all members are dancers/have dancing background except for Chenle who was scouted for his vocals but learned to dance in about 5 months before debuting

I definitely agree with what you've said about the Quiet Down performance. I really love the song but for me as well, many of their performances for the song felt a little off. I'm not sure why and if it's the choreo or something else but to me it always looks a little...unorganized? I'm not sure how to describe it But your definitely not the only one who felt something like that😅

Um just gonna share what I noticed. The first time I noticed this was Jisung and Chenle's vertical video dancing to Ridin'. If y'all go back to Jisung's solo part his other foot was tilting up and down by the 'Reloading' part and when he did it with the other members, you would notice that he's the only doing that.

When it comes to dance practices Jisung likes to have fun, he doesn't worry about his moves. He also plays around with the camera which you can see in some other dance practice with Jisung focus. When it comes to performances he always delivers
