Your hitting the ball out of the park with content now! So many little indie games and fantastic crawlers featured now it’s wonderful! You’ve definitely found your flow! So glad the solo and rpg previews are no longer just one day! Everyday is solo day for me!
Thanks for this! I ordered everything from Game Crafter, for this game, from the summer sale, looking forward to this one! You’re killing it Daniel, thanks for all you do.
This looks great. I’m in for a crowd sale. I really value the games I got from the Game Crafter after watching your videos. They each have their own character and I think they are worth the print to order prices. Thanks for continuing to highlight these games!
I appreciate the clean uncluttered look of this game. The art is nice and crisp. The concept is a well trodden one but might be worth it. I especially like the evocative look of the adventurer on the box cover though.
I have this, but have not had a chance to play it yet, but am very excited to do so. I was wondering if it was on your radar and was happy to see you covering it. Thanks for the great content as always!
This looks insanely cool. I’m absolutely getting this and it’s directly related to your video. The designer made a good choice to send you that copy because it made a sale, at least from me. LOL
dang, this looks really sweet! thanks for covering, yet again, something small and indie Daniel. great video. road events booster would be really cool , but that town feature is really neat addition to dungeon crawl! stakes, rewards, life outside the dungeon seems to often get missed in these things. nice solution here!
@@TheDungeonDiveAngband is on of the OG text based roguelike games from the 80's/90's. There were many forks made over time. It has the town element that you have to keep returning to until you are eventually strong enough to go down to level 100 and slay the big bad. Of course, the levels are all random and there was permadeath. The levels are even random if you make it back to town and delve again. Played a ton when I was younger. Tons of Tolkien references. It was an inspiration for Diablo and Tales of Maj'eyal started as a mod for Angband. Angband and Nethack were my two favorites as a kid.
Looks like a nice little game, if expensive - thanks for sharing! I'd definitely consider buying it but I have just too many similar games in this space to justify getting yet another one. Must resist the urge!
It was in my wishlist already, glad you are covering it ! I'll start buying gamecrafter games as soon as they get a way to distribute those in Europe, i'm pissed of paying taxes/high shipping cost even if i'm using a freight forwarders services ...
Daniel. Did you see the video for the new adventure Beyond the Shimmering Portal video on the vanaheim site. I don't know if it's because of your suggestion to the author but now there are adventure cards that are associated with objects on the map cards! Cool!
Interesting - hadn't heard of this before! So I guess it's a bit more involved than something like Iron Helm, but less going on than something like D100 Dungeon? That's a good space to fill, if true.
You have done it to again Daniel lol, I love the look of this game, good job that there is a crowed funding for this game coming up Lol. In all seriousness, thank you for high lighting games like this.
That's so weird I just looked and noticed that I was unsubscribe and I know I definitely subscribe in the past I love the channel I wonder why was unsubscribe?
I might just be speaking for myself here, but I would like to see you do a little more gameplay in these showcases instead of going through and showing/reading every card and component in the box.
I don’t do many gameplay videos. Sorry. I don’t have fun playing games on camera. My channel is more focused on presenting this kind of information. There are way better channels out there for game play.
I noticed my copy has a few doubles of the enemies. Is that normal? I knida wiah they had included a pawn or meeple instead of the mini. Not a big fan of the gameceafter minis. The one I got for this was particulalry shoddy. Not really a big deal, but I'd rather have a standee with artwork, or use my imagination with a pawn or meeple that use a deformed piece of plastic. Also not a big fan of the paper character sheets. Haven't gotten to actually play yet, but hope to soon.
I'd be interested in hearing your opinion comparing this game to Iron Helm. Are they similar in scope? Is one simply more fun than the other, for you? I see that this game is on Crowdsale right now, and I'm considering it.
I prefer Iron Helm. I have extensive coverage of it on the channel. IH is one of my favorite games. It's masterfully designed, with great art and theme, along with really solid mechanisms. However, I only love it as much as I do with all of the expansions.
@@TheDungeonDiveThanks for sharing. I've really enjoyed your content. I've been holding off on Iron Helm because it will be close to $200 for me to get it with all expansions. I've been telling myself I need to wait until Underquest comes out, and go all in on it. In the mean-time, I enjoy Tin Helm quite a bit. But my resolve to not jump in on Iron Helm is getting eroded a bit. I thought Vanaheim, on crowdsale, looked like a decent game at the price. But....I think I'll just hold on to the money a bit longer. Jason Glover is going to get it one way or the other. Thanks again for introducing me to these types of games. Keep up the great work.
I have a question. Watching the video the artwork seems very inconsistent. This makes me wonder if this is A.I art? For me that means it’s a definite no for me to purchase. That’s just a personal thing but it’s very important for me to support genuine artist. The game seems cool but I’d really like to know a little more about the art/ artists. Hope that’s ok.
It's almost all stock art / art asset packs. The cover image is the only thing to me that looks like AI art. I personally have no problem with AI art, and I'll be making a video on that can of worms soon! :)
Oh, that’s going to be an interesting video! I think a 75 dollar game that’s purely stock and A.l art is quite an ask but of course that again is personal. I won’t get into the A.I argument here, I will say,I personally don’t think A.I or stock art has any place in a finished game. Maybe for prototypes, home projects or to get ideas it’s ok. I also believe it’s unlawful to use A.I art in sold products - tho’ I’m not sure… I’ll look forward to your A.I video, the discussion has been raging across many channels and forums so it will be interesting to hear your take on this art stealing technology.
My game will be overflowing with stock art and public domain art because I’m not an artist and art assets are the single most expensive part of game design and I can’t afford to have art created for it. I’d rather have some art than no art in a game.
@@TheDungeonDive The great stuff you do for the community I’m sure folks would help you out! Each to there own… I’m a patron and love your content and that’s good for me!
It's unfortunate these games aren't more affordable. I understand why they're so expensive, but the last two that I've seen and been interested in are simply out-of-reach. This one is more than $75 for just the base game. Sadly, I can't justify that.
There is a gamecrafter sale at the end of the month which should take the price down. The game crafter allows people to follow their dreams and produce games, but the print to order service means it unfortunately costs a lot to produce.

I love the town building idea. Not enough dungeon crawlers let you expand your town.

It seems like he can easily add things to the game. That’s promising!
Yes. It’s a really nice foundation.

Yeah - a few more non-combat events / things would be great. Even just a chart to roll on. The town phase is super cool! Simple, and effective.
Really reminds me of the old Angband roguelike that I sunk hours into in the 90's.
I'm sold. Gonna pick this up during the summer sale.
I don't know that one! I'll have to check it out.

More of a traditional move on a map style dungeon crawl than those. This is more like an advanced Bag of Dungeon or something like that.
Looks very interesting game so glad you taking about this excellent choice as usual mate thanks so much 😊
My pleasure.

I just posted about the summer sale a couple of weeks ago.
@@TheDungeonDive sorry, I'm backlogged on your videos, it must still be in my watch list. Thank you for doing that
Dang this looks awesome
Had my eye on this one glad your covering it
An informative examination of this game as I and likely others have not heard of it. I wonder how it compares to Iron Helm, and Rogue Dungeon?
It’s a more traditional dungeon crawl in that you are moving from tile to file.
It’s less objective driven and more of a casual game, you can play multiplayer but it is a simpler system.

There’s a few copies because on some encounter tables you can meet multiples of the same enemy. The dislike of the mini is noted :)
