- Floor in the traditional Japanese room is covered with rush mats -“Tatami”. In the Tatami room, people sit on the floor at the low table. Alcove-“Tokonoma”, translucent paper sliding screen-“Shoji”, paper sliding door -“Fusuma” and other unique fittings in Japanese rooms are introduced.

It is such a beautiful room. I will make my tatami-room in Germany soon…
Thank you for this video, very insightful! God bless.
Great house 💗
So nice
Do they live there in winter?
Nice!
This house reminds me hotaru no hikari drama😂..
Are there winter doors
Shoji is good at reducing cold air inside
😂 yeah nah I don’t think a thin paper can warm a room when there’s -10°C outside. My insulted bricks don’t so highly doubt that paper does
I was thinking about protection from rain. That would ruin the paper doors. It looks like there is a porch with doors that enclose it from the elements. That might be enough of a barrier.
Give me a normal bed anytime.
