Important things that were not mentioned is when you approach ANY intersection, especially side streets approaching onto main Streets. REMEMBER that the first 100 feet is probably very icey from people braking too hard, which causes the tires to stop and creates very slippery conditions, which can cause you to slide out into the intersection. Start slowing down ahead of time. Another very dangerous situation, which I have experienced myself and never thought of this, but if you are driving down a single highway and the roads are in good condition, no snow etc.... and you are about to turn onto a country side dirt road, BE VERY CERTAIN that the snow has not been flattened by the snow plow!!!! This happened to me and even though I was going fairly slow, when I hit that flattened down snow, it nearly sent me into a 6 foot deep culvert. There wasn't even any tire tracks from the plow, so my thought the only way this could happen is the plow going in reverse. I don't know how a snow plow person didn't know they had done this, but let me tell you, it was just like driving on an ice rink. This next tip is something everyone should be doing regardless of season. Watch the flashing hand signals as you are approaching a set of lights. Most have counters now warning you that the light will be turning yellow, but it is actually to warn pedestrian how much time they have to cross, but is a great reference point as to when you should start slowing down. Another tip is, pulling out from side streets onto main streets, or making a left turn from an intersection. MAKE sure you give yourself enough space to compensate for the tires not gripping, causing a delay in your turn. Most of all, just be a very perceptive driver. Know the cause and effect...chain of events to every situation. If you're driving down a main road, just know that for every side street you pass, there is always that chance that someone could slide out into the street. Use the zipper effect when driving in bad weather. This will give vehicles beside you the chance to avoid an accident if they have room to suddenly find the need to change lanes.
@randomrazr zipper effect is if you were driving in a double lane, the car in the lane beside you would stay just ahead of you, and the car in front of you (in your lane), would stay ahead of the car that is just ahead of you in the lane beside you. This gives room for a car to swerve if something was to happen and wouldn't hit anything beside them.
#1 thing to do = buy winter tires on separate rims, and install them at the start of November, before the snow hits (remove them at the end of March). #2 thing to do = expect stopping distances to be 3 times more than normal, even with winter tires on.
Good video, i agree with everything except the turning. Enough gas to keep a constant speed. If you only apply gas when done the turn, you can get stuck in the snow if its fresh, and then its MUCH harder to get out.
Can we have extra pre-caution in Brampton please. We already know there's going to be multiple accidents there this winter. I'm not worried about the rest of the GTA.
Another tip, on the highway the bare road tracks created by everybody driving has perfect traction. So you should be driving the speed you drive during the summer unless there's snowfall decreasing visibility or you are changing lanes.
why you guys keep showing me ( in my dreams ) , that the Goat is my father ?? ....... he never was my father ??!! .......... he never have kids , and he will never have kids ??!!. the ( body ) of my father has been used by ( the Goat ) ......... but that does not mean ( he is my father ) !!?? the ( Nafess ) of my father is hiding somewhere , in some other body if you mean ( I was treating him in the past "as my father" ) , then , I need to ( re-establish ) my islamic faith again : I declaire , there is only one God , his name is Allah ,..... and I declaire , that Mohammad , is a creation and messenger from Allah and , I should never ( treat the Goat as my father ) again ....... never , ever there is nothing between me and the Goat , no friendship , no talk , no history ........ and I do NOT recognize him at all the only thing between me and the Goat , is WAR !! end of statement....

# 1 Coffee first.
# 2 Get your passport.
# 3 Leave Canada.
Drive slower!
Ideally have winter tires or at least all weather. Much better grip and grip on ice.
studded tires better
