A clash broke out between TMC and BJP workers in West Bengal’s Sandeshkhali on May 12. TMC worker was allegedly thrashed by BJP women workers.
Speaking about the incident, TMC leader Sukumar Mahato said, “BJP had a mission to gherao Police station here without permission. Rekha Patra came and she poked. Soon after that they attacked us suddenly and beat some of our boys.”
BJP Lok Sabha Candidate from Basirhat, Rekha Patra said, “TMC goons went to the residence of the daughter of ‘Andolankaari maa’ Sagori Das. TMC goons picked her up and then also threatened her... Then they went to Jeliakhali and attacked the residence of our three members...When we came to the Police station. Dilip Malik came here with his team and then abused all the women here and beat them so we retaliated and hit them back. In this regard, TMC have registered a complaint in the name of Dr Archana Majumdar and my name Rekha Patra.”

These were one sided violent attacks by BJP workers and the candidate herself. Serious crime. They needed to be arrested but Mamata clearly has told her workers and the police to avoid any violence against these women. The videos are very clear. There was absolutely no retaliation by any TMC person. Rekha Patra and BJP are in sheer desperation and are exposing themselves badly. Many of them willgotoprison unfortunately; simply victims if Modi and Suvendu's greed, lies and depravity.
