The Vela shawl is lovely, but the girl, and the story as well as what you are doing to make her life happier are nothing short of beautiful. Thank you for giving us faith in the human spirit again Wilma. You are an inspiration and I thank you for making my day brighter!
Prachtig weer.
I just wanted to take a break from repeating rows 9 and 10 to let you know how much I appreciate your tutorials, Wilma. I've only been crocheting since Dec 2019 and I'm not gonna lie but I struggled with the flower section but once I figured it out, I was so HAPPY that I'm able to continue with the Vela Flower shawl. I also love your technique; your hands and fingers move so elegantly, just gently guiding the yarn. Thank you so much!
You were the first creator I started watching, learning from when I 1st started crocheting in 2019. I decided to make another one of your beautiful shawls this week. You have such beautiful designs. Your story along with your amazing talent are so inspiring. One day I hope I can design as beautifully as you!
Just amazing like you and this little fairy girl she is so cute !! And with or without a tumor, you are incredible beautiful and I must confess that I didn't see your tumor because I saw your soul and your heart first. Thank you for all your marvellous patterns. love you. Much hugs and kisses to share with this little princess on the video and all people who suffering the same.
I'm so excited to finally share my new shawl design after working on it for soooo long! Vela picked the color combination and thinks it's a 'cute shawl' - hope you like it too! 🌸💗 The written pattern is available on my website: wilmade.com/vela-flower-shawl/ - for those interested, the coming days/weeks I will post some more pictures and videos about this shawl & meeting Vela on my Instagram: instagram.com/wilmawestenberg
Wilma, the shawl is gorgeous, simply stunning. You are gorgeous too, inside and outside and you’re strong and determined, very inspiring. Your mini-me is too cute for words and that tiny voice made me smile instantly. I appreciate your sharing your talent here and keep spreading awareness, acceptance and love and don’t stop until you drop! Bless you💜🙏💜
Hi thank you for one off the most easy video to watch and understand I just love your videos as they help me so much as this is how I have learnt to crochet by watching videos like yours. I have not made this wrap/shawl yet as I am awaiting my yarn to arrive, but I am excited to get started, thank you again for your lovely patterns Jan
Only a few rows left to finish 😊 I'm so proud becuz it's my first shawl. I used an old yarn after my mom's sweater, with hook 7mm but child pattern for easier work 😅 The yarn is green and I really didn't like it as mom's sweater but as a shawl it actually looks so pretty... I actually started to like this colour! I lost some loops in the first rows which shows but 😅 I think it looks pretty cute anyway. Thank you a lot for this tutorial. I had no trouble following despite it being my first shawl, and it's really pretty, thank you so much ❤️
I think its great that you show after ever row how it looks 😊 I often start over because I think it looks weird but now I can see how yours look and keep calm that Im not doing anything wrong 😁 You'r awsome!
Thank you for making a stitch count chart for the rows. That has been So helpful. It helps to know the count so I know if I worked the pattern correctly.
Thanks Wilma love your beautiful creations & I have many yarns from hobbii of many colours. I have several works in progress at present & when I get them finished I’ll be making one of your shawls for sure. I am so thankful for your tutorials as you work with us all the way through. You’re awesome. I would love to see a tutorial for a crescent or a rectangle wrap as I’m getting older I’m feeling the cold in my arms & that’s why I am making a request for them I hope you don’t mind. I always look forward to seeing your new creations they’re beautiful thank you 🙏😊💖💖💖
Wilma. I love that you shared your story. Your mini me is so beautiful! May God bless you both. Thank you for sharing this tutorial. You are so talented! Blessings
I'm so in love with this pattern - absolutely gorgeous - love it - i want to make all 4 of them - thank you so much for sharing this with us - I appreciate everything you have done to make this available to us.
I’m working on flower friend #3 right now and I’m LOVING the colors of mine! I used yarn bee rainbow rhapsody in the color “wild and free”. It starts out pink and then goes to Orange then to yellow then blue then purple than black but as it transitions in between colors it fades just the same way yours does because one strain changes color at a time even though my yarn plies are twisted into 1 and not separate like yours- which is a great alternate yarn for anyone who struggles with separate plies!!
Oh my goodness Vela is so adorable!!! She looks like she could be your daughter!! I love her “flower friends” and picture of the two of you wearing your “Minnie” and “Minnie Me” shirts! Wonderful pattern and I love the story behind it! ❤️❤️❤️
I finally found a yarn I liked to make this!!! Hoping just the 1 ball will work because the yardage was a little off but everything else was the same. Thank you for the tutorial because when I got to the flowers they weren't coming out even on both sides of the corner.
Truly beautiful honey . Love the story behind your shawls . You are so beautiful, inside and out . You are also a great teacher . Keep on smiling ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hi Wilma, thanks a lot for the pattern! The yarn I bought happened to be 4ply which seems too fine to be used with 4mm hook. If I use smaller hook, my shawl’ll be smaller. How do I adjust the chain/stitches to make adult size shawl using 2.5mm/3mm hook pls?
Hello Wilma! Gorgeous shawl I am bought one Melodyy by will train in color Rose von Malaga (1000m) . Well my shawls will different color of yours but I am hope doing nice work . Thank you for sharing this tutorial!. 👋🇺🇸 from Bakersfield CA. 🌹😀👌👍😘☺
Thank you so much! I love that yarn, your shawl will look amazing with those colors! Aah how cool you live in California, I'm flying to San Diego tomorrow! 💗
Gorgeous pattern! Thanks for sharing! I started learning crochet during this quarantine and this shawl will be my first big project. I've mostly been making small amigurumi and I've made one scarf so this shawl will be the most complex thing I've done so far. Really looking forward to it! I got my balls of yarn today, but their yellow was too light so I'm dying it with turmeric. Will let it dry overnight and hopefully will be able to start this tomorrow! I'm thinking I'll start with white, then yellow, then red, and the outside will be black. I have dark hair so I think the bit around the shoulders being lighter will work for me. :D
The music is quiet on this video, which is great! Lovely pattern, as usual. I do wish you still put the written instructions onscreen, they were very helpful.
Thank you for your beautiful designs. I have collected tutorials or patterns for several with plans to make them for my daughter as I'm sure she will love them also. The hard part will be deciding which one to make first!! The beginning of this video is so charming with the beautiful little girl & her flower friends. That makes this design extra appealing & it may well call for this design to be the one I begin with. I'm saddened to learn you have had to deal with your rare tumor. I can tell you are a beautiful person so I think it must be related to the birth mark or growth that my granddaughter had...& described by a family friend as a mark left from a kiss from an angel... making all who receive them extra special & beloved individuals.
The design is absolutely breathtaking!!! and the yarn (especially in this shawl) reminds me so much of Sleeping Beauty! I will definitely have to try and make this 😍
your mini-me is just as gorgeous as you are!!! thank you, also, for another beautiful pattern. the love of this craft shines thru in the lovely way your works of art come to life...
Wilma, I dont speack very well English, but let me tell you, YOU'RE A GREAT PERSON!! Beautifull shawl and I've just a cotton that can be perfect. Thanks again.
