To everyone who commented on this video… I just wanted to say a heart felt thank you. I have not checked on this video in several years (I posted this back when I was fresh out of highschool). I have been through the ups and the downs of the entertainment industry over the years and even quit for a while altogether to become a cop. Now I’m a mom and I’m still trying to hold on to my art of dance. I’ve devoted my current dance efforts to creating a faith based dance group and have been trying to leave my mark in the dance world that way after not finding much success or satisfaction in the secular dance world. The only reason I clicked back on this video is because someone randomly commented “God is proud of you.” I didn’t see the outpouring of supportive comments until now in 2022! This means so much to me because usually people can be judgmental and cruel online. Obviously I was still a bit of a rickety, young dancer here. But watching this again years later reminds me of the old passion I had for dance. And somehow I need to reignite that. ❤️ God Bless
This is really good. I don't think anyone should be like "Too much floor work" considering this is improvisation and you can do whatever you'd like. But this is amazing! :))
wow, i dont readily give out compliments any day. i certainly don't comment many videos either but, this is one of my favorite songs and your dance is completely, passionately, inspiring, i wish i could recreate this. beautiful.
omg you are soo amazing i am a dancer myself and this just blew me away. i love how you are so graceful with your leaps and how you included some gymnastics into it. you should make a tutorial of how you did the move at 0:30!!
A little bit too much time on the ground, but you hit all of your movements with important accents and emotion. I still can't believe this is improv. Great job! :)
This is absolutely the most beautiful version of any dance I have ever seen of this song. I am 24 years old and finally getting serious about dance.. just know it is videos like you that push me to keep going! How old were you here and how long have you been dancing?
Catch you... this is an example of greatness at its lowest and highest... improv will save your life just give it a try. she showed us that (Don't think I didn't see 36 sec 46th sec and 1:35th sec marks) catch it
@@JasmineDancer13 Hehe you’re welcome. I was a little drunk and I just found this song and was watching all the dance recitals for it and yeah it came from the heart and…yeah I don’t even care for dance and I was feeling very fuzzy and warm and speaking maybe too honestly 😊
improv is just short for improvisation :) which is basically making up movement on the spot and just going with the music without planned choreography.
***** Mechanically speaking, you're pushing your pelvis into the air, having your legs follow through (like doing a cartwheel) while keeping your weight on one hand. You can do a simpler version (called a calypso) where instead of going into standing you can land on your shins. It takes some time to build up the strength and routine of doing that move, so just keep practicing!
Good job just make sure you pay more attention in ballet class because technique is you what you need to improve but overall good job and try not I do so much floor work
This isnt ballet, its contemporary:) completely different technique and includes a lot of floor work - plus this is improvised so its harder to focus of technique anyway
this isn’t ballet it’s contemporary mate, different technique and contemporary uses a lot of floor work and everyone has their strengths and weaknesses
