It's also her general color scheme: white, yellow, and brown. Those are the standard go to coloring for a Normal Type.
In fact all the guess Ina was making, the girls follow the color typings. Irys is pink and black, Fairy/Dark. Etc.

Bae is just normal. Normal types tend to have weird gimmicks. Like metronome and baton pass and etc.
Her whole moveset is just all RNG, delay and the ability to switch out pokemon in ways you normally can't.

Normal types usually have diverse TM compatibility making their overall learnset more varied compared to many other types. (Modern generations have kinda hurt this though).
This was something I used to think about too, glad Ina jumped in on this little thought experiment (Fauna did this too during her 1-year anniversary stream). Here's my mostly lore-based takes:
Kiara - Fire/Flying
Gura - Water
Calli- Dark/Ghost (same type as mons like Darkrai and Spiritomb, but I kinda like the Fairy suggestion)
Ina - Psychic (Perfect for incomprehensible, ancient, eldritch beings..and Ina)
Ame - Normal, Normal/Ground, or Normal/Electric (all Normal since she's human, but the other half I'm not sure. Ground speaks for itself, but Electric might work too since she' kind of a techie too)
Sana - Fairy/Psychic, or Fairy/Dragon (both Fairy and Psychic are often related to cosmic powers and space in pokemon, and Fairy of course just fits her. Fauna suggested Fairy/Dragon, and I like that idea too)
Kronii - Steel
Fauna - Grass, or Grass/Fairy
Mumei - Normal/Flying (Just a lore-accurate type, but I get where Dark/Flying comes from too..)
Bae - Fire/Dark, or Fire/Electric (Fire fits her colors, and fire's sort of inherently chaotic in a way. I consider Dark more of a punk, rebellious type moreso than just "dark" or "demonic", but either way it could fit Bae. Electric could fit her energy as well, on top of Fire/Electric being a unique, chaotic wildcard typing)
I think that second dark/ghost type you are thinking of is sableye. Darkrai is unfortunately (or fortunately for competitive) not ghost type but I do get why you would think he is one

Since Advent is out, we gotta figure out their types. I'd say:
Bijou: Rock/Fairy
Fuwawa: Ice/Fighting
Mococo: Fairy/Fighting
Nerissa: Dark/Flying
Shiori: Ghost/Dark
I don't know if Ina has thought about what Pokémon typing Hololive Advent would be.
Hypothetical typings for Hololive EN as of February 2024 if they were Pokémon:
1) Kiara is either Fire/Flying or Fire/Fairy
-Definitely part Fire because she is a phoenix. Either Flying because I'm pretty sure phoenixes are stereotypically not depicted as flightless, or part Fairy because phoenixes are mythical/legendary creatures.
2) Gura is either Water, Water/Psychic, Water/Fairy, or Water/Dark
-Definitely Water because she is a shark girl. She could be part Psychic or Fairy since she is an Atlantean that wields magic.
-I'm not sure about Ina's idea for Water/Steel. However, Water/Dark makes sense for the reasons given by Ina. A Pokémon version of Gura could have an exclusive ability that causes a change in form and typing.
3) IRyS is Dark/Fairy
-She would be part Dark for her demon half, and part Fairy for her angel half.
4) Ame is either Normal, Normal/Psychic, Normal/Steel, Normal/Ground, Ground/Steel, Ground/Psychic, or Steel/Psychic
-Normal typing would make sense since she's a regular human. The Steel and/or Psychic typing could work since she uses guns and time travel.
-Ina's reasons for Ground typing make sense. She also has the ground-pounding mom's joke, so that could be using Ground-type attacks.
5) Calli is either Ghost or Ghost/Dark
-Ghost makes sense for being a grim reaper. Dark could work for the same reason.
-Her gap moe being a reason for making her Ghost/Fairy is cute.
6) Ina is either Dark, Dark/Water, Dark/Psychic, or Psychic/Water
-Being affiliated with squids is an okay reason for making her part Water. That said, Dark and/or Psychic works well for her eldritch magic.
7) Mumei is either Dark/Flying, Dark/Fairy, Dark/Ghost, or Ghost/Flying
-As adorable as she can be, Mumei can be scary so Dark, Ghost, or Fairy could work. Flying could work since she's affiliated with owls.
8) Fauna is either Grass or Grass/Fairy
-Grass is obvious. Grass/Fairy could work since she's a nature spirit. I could imagine a Fauna-inspired Pokémon being a legendary or mythical Pokémon.
9) Sana is either Psychic, Psychic/Dragon, Psychic/Water, or Water/Dragon
-Palkia's typing works for Sana. Psychic could also work since it's often associated with outer space and the cosmos.
-Ina's reason for being part Rock could work.
10) Kronii is either Steel, Steel/Dragon, Steel/Psychic, or Dragon/Psychic
-Steel works because of her time powers and association with clocks. Dialga's typing works for Kronii. Psychic could work since it's a powerful typing in lore and is the secondary typing of the time traveler Celebi.
11) Bae is either Dark, Fairy, or Dark/Fairy
-Dark and/or Fairy work since being mischievous or chaotic is right up the alley of those typing. Nothing about Bae suggests the Ghost typing(if I'm wrong about that, please correct me).
12) Biboo is either Rock or Rock/Fairy
-Rock is obvious. Biboo is the closest we have to a VTuber equivalent of Carbink and especially Diancie.
13) Fuwamoco are Dark, Ghost, or Dark/Ghost
-They're hellhounds so Dark and/or Ghost works well.
14) Shiori is either Dark or Dark/Normal
-I don't know enough about her or her lore since I'm going off of clips for the Hololive girls.
15) Nerissa is Dark
-While it is a sub-type or at least a class of move, there is no Sound type. Debatably, it is also probably too late to add it in and find a reasonable way to balance the type chart, not to mention whether moves like Sparkling Aria & Bug Buzz as well as abilities like Liquid Voice would need changing. That, and I don't think Game Freak would go through the trouble to modify various Pokémon, moves, and abilities for a third time. The first time was when they added the Dark(Bite was changed from Normal to Dark) and Steel types. The second time was when they added the Fairy type. That said, because she's a demon of sound, Dark makes sense. I wouldn't make her part Normal for the sake of giving her STAB Boomburst and Hyper Voice. She can instead get an ability similar to Liquid Voice that would make sound-based moves become Dark type.
Ame would be ground and poison. Ground, for obvious reasons, and poison because she's toxic.
Bae would have an ability that randomly changes her type every time she's sent out. Because chaos. Or she would be "???" type.
It's funny that I can only imagine Bae, chaos incarnate, as Normal type (cuz of the regional rodent precedent)

Kronii: either pure Steel or Steel/Dark (For the immense psychic damage she causes and weakness to Big-Ass Spider)
Bae: Dark/Normal

As someone who’s done this myself, it was so nice to see Ina do her very own take on this concept as well! Also, your Poké-models for all the EN members were amazing! Especially since you tried to make them all from pokemon that are similar in theme or type to what Ina described. (Palkia for Sana because of Space, Sharpedo for Gura because of Water-dark, etc) You did a great job again man! Keep up your amazing work!
