- A few days earlier GOMA Air missed the runway upon landing and the pilot died. We were so happy upon takeoff and landing.

Qamar Muhammad it was a great flight but scary cause a plane crashed just a few days ago. Due to the crash their was a backlog of people trying to get out of Lukla. So we were lucky the runway was cleared for our plane to leave.

I am not into mountain climbing, but it sure would be fun and interesting to fly around the Himalayas for a few days. Blimps or airships can fly really high. How cool it would be to float around the canyons and mountains at a slow speed with lots of windows.

Took off in 1986? Dirt runway. Only one. To enable landing and takeoff tourists would work wi Nepalis crack stones with larger into the. Mud..dirt to enable landings and takeoffs. When flying out in fog, I remember thinking, hope the pilot knows where the mountains begin and the clouds end. Was an experience..The high point in my life. I didn’t summit, base camp was enuf for me. I urge anyone to take the trip. Was life changing to. Me. Gave me a peaceful easy feeling.
