The amount of effort put into this game's detail is amazing. I'm not a huge gamer but this game made me very happy. I remember all the happy times I had. This game is an insane amount of fun, especially for folks who loved Sid Meier's Pirates! back in the day. Only complaint's I have are the usual ones about Uplay bullshit for features available in the main campaign.
The mission is in the game. and also yes i do want him to wear his hood more. I hate playing him without his hood. he has the best assassin outfit (my opinion)

I mean assassins are suppose wear the hoods most of the time, but since Edward isn't really an assassin, he's just a pirate with shockingly amazing skills, I guess he doesn't have to wear the hood. honestly, this game has blown me away. you guys did a great job with the naval combat and boarding action I was addicted to it as soon as I got full control of the jackdaw and was able to upgrade. I spent hours plundering ships for materials to upgrade the jackdaw and even Edward himself, I love how you made the upgrade system. also, I loved what you did with the stealth gameplay, you said you wanted to improve it and you did well done. ive never felt stealthier as an assassin. kudos Ubisoft.
This video made me get the pre-order and I still have all the goodies that came with it, this game took my expectations on a fancy dinner with extra dessert!
The reason the combat is so easy it’s because Edward was so skilled that the enemies were so easy either that or Ubisoft is just lazy but I’ll stick with the first one

I love the pirate era, and assassins creed is one of my favourite game series. I can see me becoming obsessed with this game now that I have bought it.
This game is so awesome, I finally got my copy and i love playing it. Whats more awesome is that you can put on previous Assassins characters robes such as Altair or Ezio Auditore or Connor so it makes u feel like your playing the old assassins but just riding a ship most of the time... still they forgot to put in Ezio's robe that he used in Revelations that robe was pretty cool. I just generally love AC Black flag, I think its a huge step up from other assassins creed especially AC III that game was kinda boring. I rate the game 10/10 One bad thing about the game is that Jackdaw edition only comes for PS4 i believe, they should bring it out for xbox 360/PS3 because if they did then we can all have Proper Black sails for the ship, If you dont know what i mean then youtube it and you will understand

Is this is a good game? I mean... I've played it all the way through and I won't shut up about how awesome it is but then I remembered I have pirate themed everything and I've loved pirate stuff since I could remember. So naturally my opinion is biased on this. Ever since the first open world RPG game I played, I've been waiting to see an open world RPG with pirates but allow you to have a customizable ship, gather a crew/fleet, take over islands and make them your hideouts, of course battle ships board it kill everyone and steel the ship with a massive pirate overworld with treasure hunting and exploring. The game does this, everything isn't as customizable as I'd like. For example I would love to customize my own flag. But they were spot on with the wheel and bow decorations, to a pirate those were the most important aspects of your vessel. Colored sails are cool but they didn't care for them, I have black sails though and its awesome... to bad its the one color we all want and its fucking DLC. Of course I had to get it cause the DLC also came with Death as your bow statue which looks badass and a gunsword, yeah a fucking gunsword... accurate to history? No! Badass? Hell yes. So I say this is one of the best games I've ever, but I'm not sure if that's just because the game panders to my childhood fantasies or its actually good. I'm not a big fan of Assassin's Creed, I like the fact its a major franchise and is extremely popular cause anything that isn't CoD or a CoD want to be is good with me. First person military shooters need to die already. Anyways... AC3 pissed me off. I hated it, the game took one of the most promising story lines: American Revolution. Which has potential for awesome missions and stories but... failed on execution reducing these amazing stories to lame gimmicks and random cameos. The controls, UGH the fucking controls. Combat was a failed buggy version of Arkham Asylum combat, horrible auto lock on and combat mode is supposed to engage when being attacked but the game will freak out and you'll be getting hit cause you're character won't go into combat mode. Counter attacks barely worked. Movement was horrible, want to jump over there? Too bad! Your character is going over here. Want to climb this? No? Too bad you'll climb it four times cause you are too close to the wall and your target is getting away. It should have been called "Assassin's Creed III WHO TOLD YOU TO DO THAT" and the main character... ugh the worst main character ever. Annoying man child with no redeeming qualities, you would rather play the old black guy who was forced into teaching you the Assassin ways cause he may be old but he was cool. All these aspects are improved and while not perfect they are fixed... in comparison to the old game yeah its fixed. The main character is Heath Ledger so that's cool. And the story is... a story. Not memorable but it never ruins the game. Oh and stealth is much better. So I have a review on this game and I feel biased towards it... what do you guys think?

Thats my exact point! Melee combat was semi easy in AC1 and 2, but nobody felt like doing it because it was so slow paced. If they added the satisfying kills from AC4/3 with the slower paced combat, tackling 2/3 soldiers at once would be hugely satisfying, while 5/7 is just a total hassle and you'd more rather do a Assassin escape at that point. THAT is what made the game fun to play before, because the kills were satisfying, but the sheer amount of time you'd waste fighting to see that animations wasn't worth it sometimes, so you'd just run. That's what separates AC combat from Batman, AC is Slow yet Satisfying when done right! While Batman is just a fast paced adrenaline rush. The guys at Ubisoft Toronto need to look at real life sword fighting, and notice how slowly it can go at times. Once you get momentum it's quite quick, but it takes a long time to get there, parrying and staring your opponent down, deflecting their attacks and making sure to keep harassing them to get a opportunity. Theres a lot more dodging and sword clashing, than there is cutting and killing.
What makes the franchise so unique from other video games is it's historical characters and events. Along with the games including a beautiful open world with amazing soundtrack. Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag is the biggest on yet! I cannot wait what Ubisoft will create next.
Reminds me a bit of the windwaker. The feel and openness of the world in that game was amazing and so it seems with this one, even better I hope since it's a more mature game and technology is alot more advanced now.

The way to win any melee fight is spam E, for long range, use a human shield. It's stupidly easy.
It's good combat is easy and everything goes so fast, you really feel like unstoppabble assassin
