Every slot that wipes for me now are just slots that I myself don't want or need anymore, so I get rid of them for echoes. Once you learn pve, its not scary or difficult, its just tedious. The pvp on the other hand is INSANELY difficult to get into, because for newer players getting jumped by a voidwalker or in the depths pretty much means certain death. Even chime of conflict is difficult, and even though they removed chime skulls so you dont get sent to depths after only 3 losses, the players in there have specialized builds purely for the chime environment, and probably more skill than the average freshie. damn bro put in a year to produce a video that really needs to be seen more, I feel like anyway. casually commenting so I don't yap, Deepwoken has a special place in my heart because verse I and moreover the week of release was so surreal and captured me because it felt so raw, before Rogue Lineage's community and the general progression of people online came in. im not a loremaster or anything, but the small tidbits, the soundtracks, even just the random NPCS I STILL find reel me in further, and I encourage people to take a moment to forget the PVP and PVE and just take in the worldbuilding.
Something I find truly fascinating about Deepwoken is the disparity between the New and Old player experience. Deepwoken is such a thrilling and exciting experience as a new player, but at the same time it feels overwhelmingly difficult, a game nigh impossible to find your footing in. As you grow in knowledge and skill, however, Deepwoken begins to feel like the opposite. In fact, I'd say it's incredibly easy (if a bit tedious) to keep your characters around forever. Once you learn the PvE and how to reliably avoid players, the possibility of character death feels vague and distant. The only time I get nervous in Deepwoken anymore is when running Ethiron, but that's solely because I practically never do floor 2. Escaping the Depths is laughably easy once you know what you're doing and you have the skill and confidence to take on the Enforcer. Some people might bring up that, after your character is sent to Depths enough times, the trial grows more difficult. However, this can be avoided by leveling up, or if you are power 20, willingly going into the Depths via whirlpool and escaping after you've died only once, so that you don't get the "drowned" penalty. I would love to see some sort of change to how character death is handled, but the closest we've gotten are some small changes to the trial. It also doesn't help that Deepwoken's progression is tedious and a bit bland. Sure, it's fun the first few times through, but it loses it's charm very quickly. It's such a shame, that the intricacy and creativity of builds is Deepwoken's strongest aspect, and it's locked behind bandit beating. Before the game released we were promised a varied, interesting, and "diagonal" progression, but it seems things didn't turn out that way. I can only hope that it improves as time goes on, however nearly three years have flown by and the devs still don't appear to want to go in that direction. I can't blame you for being on the fence about Deepwoken. It's a very, very flawed game that doesn't cater to newcomers at all and leaves a lot to be desired for those who've stuck with it. But I'd be lying if I said that there was nothing about the game that I found special. It's a truly unique experience, and I do believe there is quite a bit of fun to be had, if you can get past the drudgery of learning the game.
get ur rep up, it takes like 10-15 mins max to finish up the knives rep with the ship event(use canons) and if u alr ot voidwalker origin, u just need etris rep so its easy. i dont know why people just dont understand that they get voided cuz of their rep. hell even my buddy who is a perma fresh for months still complains bout voidwalkers eventhough i keep telling him to just get his rep up
Hey Eggbone, I just wanted to leave this here to say the videos very well made, I'm a solo dev and in a couple years I intend on releasing a new game to Roblox similar to Deepwoken, not as a Deepwoken killer or rival game, but as another option for people to play. Honestly the whole reason I started making concepts and developing this game is because I didn't enjoy Deepwoken. So I decided to make my own game to enjoy, and for other people to enjoy. *If* my game does launch in the next 6 years I'd be very excited to watch your video on it.
All I've got to say is this video speaks to the me who played this for the first time years ago. Loved the video and hope you keep up the great work my friend!
The game was so fun when i first got it. exploring the different islands in pre verse 2 was just a different experience especially with friends, i can remember paying 16 bucks to bring back my first build that i spent a week getting to power 27 (less then current power 10 equivalent). one of my favorites to this day.
Hello. I've been playing deepwoken since the DAY of release. What kept me going is the fact that this world is new and changing, I love the game with all my heart and i have 2.5k hours in it. It's my perfect experience. It's so hard but I just cant stomach easy games anymore because of deepwoken
been playing since launch so here’s my concise 2 cents on it The game kinda gave up trying to fully marry roguelite and rpg elements a while ago, and now it’s an uneasy alliance, where permadeath is not super fitting as the game is not as difficult. However, that isn’t to say it’s a bad game. It’s actually very accessible now, and there’s still difficult survival elements for fairly new players. Don’t play if you’re looking for a hardcore trial and error experience, but also don’t play if you’re looking for a mindless rpg. In terms of quality and soul, I can more or less vouch for this game.
I've also been playing since launch and I have to disagree with your point that it's not a hardcore trial and error experience. I still continue to see newer players struggle in this game, the only exception is if they're getting help from an experienced friend. When you have hundreds of hours on a game of course it gets easier to play.
@@shovelpulive6208 honestly thats fair, theres still certainly challenging elements. there are a lot of individual aspects that i dislike how much they “dumbed down” but yeah i was probably a little harsh in this description
Tbh to me it does feel like a mindless rpg which makes me sad. Yall don't have to agree with me and I think I'm in the minority here but I wish they either leaned harder into the rpg elements and got rid of the permadeath but made the game harder or make the game quicker and more fun/interesting to progress. I hate spending a couple of hours per run on something trying to be a roguelite, especially when there isn't a lot of variety :(.
@@thegoldenraysoftheglorious1180 i think that the length of a run is what sets this apart within the roguelike genre, and isn’t necessarily an issue on its own… but it quickly becomes an issue when the core gameplay loop just isnt very fun. like take how they added the job boards… it doesn’t actually vary gameplay if there are like 6 jobs total that every faction offers and every single one is just “go to this area and defeat this existing event” tl;dr i agree but i dont think that making progression faster would make it a better roguelite, id just want it to be much more interesting
For combat, I definitely recommend participating with the community, looking at pvp guides, and fighting friends to learn it. Everything that isn't pvp related, I think you can have the most fun doing things blindly. If you get stuck in layer 2 without a lighthook, you can reset the dungeon by leaving the game and rejoining while out of combat. Why you'd want to do this is something I think you should figure out.
I love this game so much, but there are some terrible members in the community. The game is a quite hard, but you get better. I couldn't get past the angels in trail of one for a long time, but then after slowing down and tackling that problem over and over again I can now consistently beat ToO.
when i first got deepwoken i felt a bit of guilt for making my month pay 8 dollar for it but then later i started enjoying it now i really enjoy this game the game is very hard in the beginning but the more you play the better you get the 3 most importent skill in this game is too parry, block and dodge, knowing how to make a good build and knowing how to defeat most of the monster in the game also don't forget pvp
he sounds like that one tiktok creator I forgot his name W video tho man I've been playin since day 1 and I get your troubles since I've helped my friends learn what to do in this game
This is common for people to drop the game and come back to it like i did. I bought it when it came out didnt like it much cause everything was so confusing. Then i came back like after a year because of the OSTs xd. They just sounded too good and i really liked souls-games so i came back and now i have more than 300h+ in the game and i dont regret any death i had or everything i lost. This game is peak! (thx Naktigonis)
This game has blown me away again and again from the start. The feeling of being so lost in the beginning and finding new and exciting things as you progress is an experience I wish I could relive. As someone who has been playing for over a year now and have 1000s of hours cumulatively I believe the experience is like no other. If you have the time and patience I think that playing this game with a few other friends that are just as lost as you and looking up only what you feel you NEED on the wiki will be the most fun. Playing with someone that already knows what to do really kills the initial wonder and mystery of the game.
For me, Deep meant some sort of superation for me, being able to get S rank was like the biggest thing I ever did in that game, but being scared of death is only I experienced with Rogue Lineage
In my opinion if you have absolutely no intention of staying for deepwoken's PvP, you probably shouldn't keep playing. Deepwoken's PvE is good to a certain extent, but once you reach a certain level of skill the challenge is gone and and become somewhat of a chore to go through at times. I started playing at release for the adventure and progression, but stayed for the combat once I reached a certain skill level. Granted, this was in Verse 1 where the PvP aspect of the game was much easier to get into, but I think this could still apply today.
In like a month or so, when halloween comes around deepwoken will probably do its usual halloween update. I suggest playing then, you'll be able lvl up way easier and get rare stuff as well. It's basically perfect for quickly catching up even if not quite experience and skill wise
@@keno317 I litterly mentioned you can't catch up to OG players in experience and skill. But lvling up and getting some good gear plus more is a diff story
Deepwoken i have been playing. SINCE LAUNCH. i literally have been playing solo SINCE LAUNCH . i have only made it to power 20 multiple times. learn from my mistakes be very cautious when playing deepwoken and log before an enemy attacks you if you feel they are too strong. i have done that many time in the depths. just stay strong and remember this game is WAY more difficult solo. i have gotten used to it and can make some great builds and fight most enemy's in the game without issue. you came at the best possible time as deep woken is way more user freindly than launch be grateful that you discovered it now. lets just say a tutorial was not added until 2023 TWO YEARS after launch.
Deepwokens toxic community makes the good encounters more memorable and thats what makes the game so unique the player interactions, some people just battle you on sight and others are really chill its the player base that makes these unique encounters possible and makes progression seem unique when you prog with some randoms who become ride or dies for the next 40 minutes
I like this game because i get to take out my anger on pve builds. Very stress relieving and a great way to release stress by shooting a random dinghy with 8 cannons at once 😘😘😘
In Deepwoken you have 3 types of people: perma-freshies: people that are bad at pvp and bad or okay at pve toxic: people who wanna pvp non stop, which is okay, there is arena mode, but they attack random people, and worst part about them is that they will wipe anyone who looks weaker than them in depths giga chads: are good both at pvp and pve, play arena mode for pvp and help if they see a weaker player getting jumped nice video btw
if they added a game mode that is solo. that would basically fix the game for me. for me at least i am uncapable of fighting against players, yes i can get better but id rather enjoy the games content rather than fighting a max level void walker right as i finish trail of one.
I gave my pic when it said it made u cry a few times. Maybe I have lost it with over 1500 hours on this game but the only thing about the lore that I care about is klaris’s bun. It was deepwoken lore gods fault that this happened because I was addicted to the lore to now I’m just a degenerate who wants to put my crypt blade in Amara Klaris or Karliah or Beirull
I think around 100 people have left the comments so I'm just going to come out and say it, the title stems from the fact that originally this video was intended for an audience of people who hadn't played the game; hence the games name isn't in the title. people are more familiar with the term souls-like and sekiro-like is kindve a mouthful. damn bro put in a year to produce a video that really needs to be seen more, I feel like anyway.
casually commenting so I don't yap, Deepwoken has a special place in my heart because verse I and moreover the week of release was so surreal and captured me because it felt so raw, before Rogue Lineage's community and the general progression of people online came in.
im not a loremaster or anything, but the small tidbits, the soundtracks, even just the random NPCS I STILL find reel me in further, and I encourage people to take a moment to forget the PVP and PVE and just take in the worldbuilding.
the random guy you met once cosplays as the 1st boss of the game called duke erisia btw
never really thought about classifying deep as a souls-like... but it surprisingly works

It's a truly unique experience, and I do believe there is quite a bit of fun to be had, if you can get past the drudgery of learning the game.
absolute cinema.
Goated vid comment to buff algorithim
Much appreciated bro 🙏
This video is gonna blow up I can feel it
Getting voidwalked every 6 seconds makes me so happy!!!
Somebody please make them stop please
get ur rep up, it takes like 10-15 mins max to finish up the knives rep with the ship event(use canons) and if u alr ot voidwalker origin, u just need etris rep so its easy.
i dont know why people just dont understand that they get voided cuz of their rep. hell even my buddy who is a perma fresh for months still complains bout voidwalkers eventhough i keep telling him to just get his rep up
Deepbound doesn't have to worry about voidwalkers

cool vid! nice editing and enjoyed listening to your experience with deepwoken.
Another one has been taken by the deep
Hey Eggbone, I just wanted to leave this here to say the videos very well made, I'm a solo dev and in a couple years I intend on releasing a new game to Roblox similar to Deepwoken, not as a Deepwoken killer or rival game, but as another option for people to play. Honestly the whole reason I started making concepts and developing this game is because I didn't enjoy Deepwoken. So I decided to make my own game to enjoy, and for other people to enjoy. *If* my game does launch in the next 6 years I'd be very excited to watch your video on it.
10:40 Kyrie is so peak
Also try listen to waltz of snow and knights its so good
you sound like inu's older brother
anyways great video, post more content like this :))
amazing video btw
damn bro only 106 subs??? i thought this was gonna be some like 25k youtuber this is fire
All I've got to say is this video speaks to the me who played this for the first time years ago. Loved the video and hope you keep up the great work my friend!
The game was so fun when i first got it. exploring the different islands in pre verse 2 was just a different experience especially with friends, i can remember paying 16 bucks to bring back my first build that i spent a week getting to power 27 (less then current power 10 equivalent). one of my favorites to this day.
it was much easier starting back when the game first came out in december 2021
Hello. I've been playing deepwoken since the DAY of release. What kept me going is the fact that this world is new and changing, I love the game with all my heart and i have 2.5k hours in it. It's my perfect experience. It's so hard but I just cant stomach easy games anymore because of deepwoken
the best time you gonna ever have in Deepwoken is in your first few hours when you find a surprise in every corner.
One thing I have to say, the ambience and atmosphere of the game is extremely amazing. I love Naktigonis's music so much.
been playing since launch so here’s my concise 2 cents on it
The game kinda gave up trying to fully marry roguelite and rpg elements a while ago, and now it’s an uneasy alliance, where permadeath is not super fitting as the game is not as difficult.
@@thegoldenraysoftheglorious1180 i think that the length of a run is what sets this apart within the roguelike genre, and isn’t necessarily an issue on its own… but it quickly becomes an issue when the core gameplay loop just isnt very fun. like take how they added the job boards… it doesn’t actually vary gameplay if there are like 6 jobs total that every faction offers and every single one is just “go to this area and defeat this existing event”
tl;dr i agree but i dont think that making progression faster would make it a better roguelite, id just want it to be much more interesting
Ngl this video is going to pop off
Alright, who’s gonna tell him about Layer 2?
ive been on this game for ages. its a hard ass game. really tuff for beginners but its all worth it at the end
been playing ever since release, great video, i think with your style you could do a lore video on deepwoken
This footage is so old 😭🙏
ROLAND?!!!!!!!!!!! GO GET SOME BITCHES AND DONT YOU DARE THATS THAT AND THIS IS THIS ME
For combat, I definitely recommend participating with the community, looking at pvp guides, and fighting friends to learn it.
It took me a year to experience the game as a whole and actually beat the whole thing on hard mode.
hard mode? 😂😂

Hm I wonder what this very unknown never seen before game could possibly be
when i first got deepwoken i felt a bit of guilt for making my month pay 8 dollar for it but then later i started enjoying it now i really enjoy this game the game is very hard in the beginning but the more you play the better you get the 3 most importent skill in this game is too parry, block and dodge, knowing how to make a good build and knowing how to defeat most of the monster in the game also don't forget pvp
sifu has the best use of deaths in video games i've ever seen
he sounds like that one tiktok creator I forgot his name
W video tho man I've been playin since day 1 and I get your troubles since I've helped my friends learn what to do in this game
(thx Naktigonis)
eggboner is peak
The soundtrank is AMAZING the world building is IMPECIBLE and in my opinion, PvE is better than PvP
Based for that last one
I play pve and pvp
Fr
im sure the 2 thousand hours i have on this game show that i have infacted played the game
You should do more reviews like this. Try it on block tales
COMMENTING FOR THE ALGORITHM
I play deepwoken for the permadeath ngl, I like feeling the stress knowing that one mistake equals death
w vid holy bro, why you have 60 subscribers like. bro.... AM WATCHING A 1MILLION SUBSCRIBER VIDEO AT THE SAME QUALITY OF THIS WHATAHEKK?
Sure would be nice to be able to play
4:48 fortnite doesn't even use the term death, it uses "elimanation", so this joke is even funnier
Thats fine, people in fortnite never die anyway.(lore wise and visually)
"the soulslike game you've probably never had money for"
For me, Deep meant some sort of superation for me, being able to get S rank was like the biggest thing I ever did in that game, but being scared of death is only I experienced with Rogue Lineage
Thats not some random guy....
THATS THE DUKEEEEEE
Yea make sure to atleast get the medallions and races so once it’s gone you can keep it
You won’t catch up to OG players because of hollowtide
@@keno317 I litterly mentioned you can't catch up to OG players in experience and skill. But lvling up and getting some good gear plus more is a diff story

The Deep is calling.
Deepwoken i have been playing. SINCE LAUNCH. i literally have been playing solo SINCE LAUNCH . i have only made it to power 20 multiple times. learn from my mistakes be very cautious when playing deepwoken and log before an enemy attacks you if you feel they are too strong. i have done that many time in the depths. just stay strong and remember this game is WAY more difficult solo. i have gotten used to it and can make some great builds and fight most enemy's in the game without issue. you came at the best possible time as deep woken is way more user freindly than launch be grateful that you discovered it now. lets just say a tutorial was not added until 2023 TWO YEARS after launch.
also do Halloween update like @Aodh_Exa_Lasair requested
U played since launch and only made it to power 20 multiple times ?
Multiple is crazy…
@@kyat9274 im kinda bad and stupid
i got bell each time. and everytime i would lose a character i would take a multiple month long break from the game.
I got stabbed I'm the back by the 2 guys I saved
I'm masochistic
I like this game because i get to take out my anger on pve builds. Very stress relieving and a great way to release stress by shooting a random dinghy with 8 cannons at once 😘😘😘

deepwoken definitely takes time to get into, it took me like a year to get back into deepwoken after first purchasing it

Your edit are way too good for a deepwoken video
In Deepwoken you have 3 types of people:
perma-freshies: people that are bad at pvp and bad or okay at pve
toxic: people who wanna pvp non stop, which is okay, there is arena mode, but they attack random people, and worst part about them is that they will wipe anyone who looks weaker than them in depths
giga chads: are good both at pvp and pve, play arena mode for pvp and help if they see a weaker player getting jumped
nice video btw
@@zikaryz I mean, it takes like two minutes to get good at the Pve, it’s so easy

Are you an ardour manifestation? Because you summon my dread serpent
if they added a game mode that is solo. that would basically fix the game for me. for me at least i am uncapable of fighting against players, yes i can get better but id rather enjoy the games content rather than fighting a max level void walker right as i finish trail of one.
