It's a step UP from H1 not a step down in terms of nitrogen content and edge holding. H1 has only 0.15%wt which doesn't take special equipment, LC200N has 0.50% wt which is significantly more and requires specialized PESR to add that amount. H1 is just an austenitic stainless.
Big Brown Bear H1 Steel has .15 % carbon and .10% Nitrogen. LC200N has higher carbon at .3% and lower nitrogen at .5%. So maybe I’m missing something ?
@@LuvThemKnives Yes, "0.5" nitrogen is higher than "0.10" nitrogen that's why I added the zero for "0.50%wt" so your eyes would see it better. 0.10%wt nitrogen is not a lot of nitrogen. H1 being rust proof is an inherit quality of being an Austenitic stainless rather than the small amount of nitrogen itself.

I ordered a Siren yesterday; because it’s been discontinued, and I didn’t yet have a LC200N blade. I managed to find one, (from a reputable dealer), for ~$121 shipped. I’m pretty sure that I’ll be pleased with the Siren, especially for that price. 😁 ETA: BHQ’s steel evaluations are kinda BS. According to Larrin Thomas; LC200N is slightly tougher than CruWear, i.e. PLENTY tough. Also, most people say they find it easy to sharpen. I’ll get to form my own opinion on that soon.
I got one as soon as it dropped. Been excitedly waiting for a long while for it to hit the retailers. As an avid fisherman, this is a freaking amazing knife. 🔪👍🗡
Was going to get this one but everyone's out of stock. I ended up using your discount code at White Mountain knives and ended up getting a Shaman instead.
LC200 is not a step down from H1. H1 is not has hard and does not hold an edge as well as LC200. Nitro V may be a step up from LC200. I have H1 knives. They rust some. they do not stay sharp.
J Dean I guess I choose my words badly. From what I could tell about the elemental composition on the 2 steels. The H1 is slightly more corrosion resistant than the LC200N. So I was thinking about exposure to water and humid conditions.
@@LuvThemKnives No worries man I should of been clearer too, H1 is definitely better at corrosion resistance but I'll give that up in a second for the many better qualities of LC200N
Looks like a good one. Not happy with that lanyard hole but not a big deal. Also I’m not crazy about lock backs, in fact I think I’ve only got two. Great review grandpa...not Bobby.
The thicker "ricasso" section of the blade that slants forward towards the "Spidey hole" detracts from its usability, i.e. food prep or similar cuts that require maximum blade length.
It's not a knock off, it's the same steel produced for ZAPP they just call it LC200N and it's called Zfinit for Alpha Knife Supply. Bohler has an analog too called "N360" same stuff different company.

Great looking knife. Unless one stores a knife in salt brine LC200N is extremely corrosion resistant. Knice knife and great steel...love it.
Kinda like the look of this one. Thanks for showing it!

As an avid fisherman, this is a freaking amazing knife. 🔪👍🗡
His test is on the LC200 Waterway by Spyderco
Nice looking
Has Spyderco used this grippy G10 on any other blades? Super impressed with mine!
Love grippy handles, its better at all tasks in wet area’s (sailboat life)
Without the hump on the back of spine almost can`t recognize it was a Spiderco...
Damn, they had to throw that Blue in there. Yum
Just hope if its smaller
Yeah, absolutely! I think it’s fun, I think it’s great! It’s smooth. We luv them knives! (So you don’t have too.)
Was going to get this one but everyone's out of stock. I ended up using your discount code at White Mountain knives and ended up getting a Shaman instead.
LTK with the current news.👍

I had a h1 knive.no edge retenion.not good they suck for me.
Hey man! Any info re hrc on these lc200n blades they put in siren model?
Love mine but stopped listening when you said LC200N is a step down from H1, if you have spent anytime with H1 it is no way a step down lol....
