So all of this dudes men turn to help Muthuvel, and right when Muthuvel goes to take him out, he suddenly brings up that his son is still alive, and that causes Mustuvel to stop? Since his men all refused to do anything to him, if Mustuvel killed Varman, wouldn't his men just release his son, or at least tell him where he is?
I don't think they actually thought through the logic of their script.

There is no indian movie that doesn't have any twist. If he could have killed him his son character would have been hidden. There supports love a happy ending not a bad ending.

"I got a counteroffer. Give me my son. Right now.
Or
I got stuff planned for you and everyone you care about that'll take twenty years to kill ya...And ya'll be screaming for mercy in the first five seconds."
